The Trafalgar Branch Library is pretty amazing. Even before going inside, I was struck by the…read morenatural wildflower/prairie garden that surrounds the building. A trail winds through the garden with the Kelsey Anne Devine StoryWalk for kids. (Kelsey was a local resident that passed away too young). In front of the building is a large art sun sculpture. There is also a patio with chairs to sit and read surrounded by additional garden. Inside, the library is large and open with beautiful high ceilings. Wood and stone give the building a natural feeling. The Children's Area has a small play area and a separate room dedicated to play. There are lots of books for the kids. The Teen Area has comfy seating and a chess set set up. Besides books, there is information posted about important topics for teens. The Adult Area has more comfortable seating surrounding a fireplace. Lots of natural light comes into the space from large windows that overlook the garden. This is my favorite spot to read the daily newspaper. Plenty of small tables are scattered throughout the building. A set of public computers are available near center of the library. A large community room with small kitchen near the entrance was being cleaned during my visit. Baskets of free vegetables from summer gardens for visitors to take home stand near the entrance. Outside, an emergency box with opioid antidote reminds us of the struggle with addiction in our rural communities. There is plenty of parking outside with several handicapped spaces. This library offers much more than books and I'll be back.

Beautiful library with great staff, plus it has a fireplace. Fast wifi and quick checkout!read more

They have a drive-up drop box to return books and spots designated for book pick-up that were requested on line, through their app or over the phone. The library has a shelter with a picnic table under it and benches lining the walkway leading to the library entrance. Of course you will find books and periodicals to read, along with DVDs, CDs games. There are also computers and laptops that can be checked out and used there too. It is a fun place with lots to offer and even more to learn and explore. I have used the library's community room on a few occasions for some events. It is a decent sized multipurpose room and is easy to reserve and very reasonable. The library has a little play area with a lego table, a train table, a puppet show booth and other toys. I know this library has limited space, but I wish this space had its own private room because it can get a little loud with kids playing. I may have missed it but I did not see any quiet rooms in this library. But we were confined to a small portion of the library. This library has several events including book clubs, book readings for kids, scavenger hunts, and arts & crafts. You really need to check out their event calendar. During my visit, visitors only had access to the kids' section of the library. Due to burst pipes, access to the teen/adult section (to the right as you enter) was restricted. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. My experience with them was very pleasant. My return to the public library was a success and I will definitely be back soon with the littles. Hopefully, the issue with the buildings pipes and the resultant water damage will be fixed soon.

They let kids run around and scream and crawl and play in the aisles; I even heard one who looked to be about eight years old yelling expletives multiple times. There don't seem to be many parents around. When I was a kid, we would get in trouble if we were loud in the library. These kids have no consideration for the people around them and their parents don't seem to care to teach it to them. I've spent hours here, but I think this is my last time coming to this location. The Greenwood libraries or other Indianapolis libraries are much nicer and quieter.

I always enjoy browsing and checking out books when I stop by. The seed library was the highlight. There were many varieties and other gardening resources that make home gardening accessible. I also enjoyed the layout. There were cubicle type spaces for semi-private working and easy device charging. There were also group private spaces and collaborative spaces. Working next to the collaborative spaces was a little distracting because I could hear others' conversations, but other than that it was a great experience.
