Our point man was Shane Renfroe, and through the process he kept in contact with us. Their bid was refreshingly within our budget, and we chose the Rustic Hickory architectural shingles. The crew arrived early in the morning, laying tarps and getting items prepped. Our 7am wakeup was when they started removal of the old roof shingles and felt. Through the day they were active and engaged. The crew worked quickly, and were very professional and polite in our interactions. By 4:30 they were in the final stages of cleanup, and by 5 they were done. There were several passes with various magnetic devices in the final cleanup to try to catch as many of the nails and other metallic debris that had fallen during the activity. After they left I made a cursory round of the house and found only 2 nails. The next day my wife spotted a place in our guest room ceiling where the drywall/finish had cracked a bit. We asked Shane to send someone over to take a look at that and a few places where we had spotted gutter guards that had been pushed out of alignment. They arrived within a couple of days, and they after a thorough inspection of the area and the roof above was able to determine that there were no structural issues nor probable leak issues, and that it was just a thin roof/ceiling structure and some incidental movement with people moving around with bags of shingles. They straightened the gutter guards back in place and ran another set of magnet nail catchers around the house a few times just in case. Through the whole process, Renfroe Roofing provided good communication, timely work, and quality workmanship throughout the process. Beyond a few plastic "tags" blown about by the wind they did an excellent job of cleaning the area, and we are very happy with our new roof.

The owner sold me on expectations (i.e., ceiling fans, baseboards, oven, doors, glass shower, everything would be clean). I asked if there was a preference for having someone home during the clean and was told they would rather clean while you're out which was fine. I had tons of things to do. Nonetheless, I couldn't wait to book the services!!! Initially, I was told she didn't have any openings for today. She later returned and said someone could come out to clean on the day that I requested. Oh yea, I forgot to mention that I live in new construction, it's just my daughter and I, and we've only been in the place a year and a half. It's not filthy at all. We honestly could've performed the deep cleaning ourselves and guess what?! This is exactly how it looked when I returned home. I'm beyond disappointed. The owner was very polite and did offer to come out and correct the issue but my trust in what would be done without me being present again went completely out of the window. After several exchanges asking for a partial refund I was sent the following message which I just couldn't accept: "I understand. Unfortunately because I did have a cleaner there and had to pay for the labor I'm unable to comp this clean. Like I said, I'd be happy to come clean it personally, even on a date closer to when you'll be home. I sincerely apologize." My response, "Can you pay the labor and return the remainder?" The refund wasn't even half of what I paid. Needless to say, I'm still on the search for a cleaning company who delivers as promised. I learned a very valuable lesson - Just get up and do it yourself if you have the time, energy, and resources. In this instance, it's okay to be picky. Try out Lilac Cleaning for yourself. Considering that 4 construction workers had well, wrecked the place previous to our moving in... we'd often wondered who took our new place from FILTHY to FABULOUS... and it was her! Finally in the 30 years I've lived in and moved all over the place, I didn't have to lose my ever-loving mind having to completely overhaul the place because she'd already meticulously and graciously taken care of that for me... and for that I couldn't have been more grateful... as someone with asthma and severe allergies to mold, dust, and pet dander (etc).
