Two playground with sand area to play
Eni J.

Big nice park. It's always lots of people here. Also next to library. We came here early morning and not many people in the playground. We had fun playing in this park.

We attended an event at this park yesterday and we will be coming back! The park is large, with lots of open spaces and very clean. It has a nice area with restrooms, tables and a play area for children and it is adjacent to a lovely dog park. Everything was lovely and well maintained. Our visit has made our local parks seem a bit shabby and it is worth a bit of a drive to come visit.

This review is for the new RRUFF dog park with the Johnson-Springview Park. This is a GREAT dog park. There are two seperate areas for small and large dogs and the fields are large and grassy, so minimal mud issues during/after rain. There are large trees within the park fields, so it's just a very relaxing park-type setting for K9s & humans. There were chairs to sit in but some park volunteers indicated benches had possibly been donated and on their way, which will be nice. Plus - the greater park itself is already known for disc golf, softball/baseball and just fun kids play - so not a bad place to make a family outing.

It looks a little dumpy but it's a nice quarter mile track tucked away in the back of the park. There are water fountains here.

This is such a great park. It really has it all. Beach volleyball court, tennis courts, skate park, dog park, track, disc golf, covered bbq areas, a playground for the kids, plenty of green grass to kick around a soccer ball, and more! One of the great things about this park is how well maintained it is. The grass is green and the park is clean. One of my favorite features is FLUSHING TOILETS! The pond at the disc golf course is pretty filthy with trash but otherwise the park is well maintained. The disc golf course is a nice 18 holes. They restructure it a little now and again to keep it a challenge. The dog park is very nice because there is a separate area for large dogs and small dogs. The track is dirt which I actually like. It's tucked away in the back near a shaded walking trail (a little narrow for my liking. Not very kept. I don't recommend). There are water fountains at the track so I never bring my water bottle. There is bird poo on them all the time but I'm a country kid and it doesn't bother me a bit.

This park is one of the nicest and largest suburban parks I have ever been to. It's a beautiful property with large old growth oak trees and has something for everyone. It has a disc golf course, beach volleyball, a skate park, a beautiful dog park, a basketball court, tennis courts, a special needs dog park, two large playgrounds for different age groups, baseball diamonds, large level grass areas, large covered bbq areas perfect for large gatherings that you can reserve, bathrooms, and I'm sure more that I didn't see.

Dog park, check. Large kids playground, check. Large open field, check. Shaded picnic table, thank you jeebus, check. This is a really convenient park and they usually put on several fun family friendly events throughout the year.

Peter Hill Heritage Park - So cute! Made out of railroad tracks

This park is a visual impact maker! If you can visit during BLOOM season, it is just breathtaking…read more I have shot family photo and senior portraits here, the are SO many wonderful backdrops, colors, textures. It is just a beautiful little park. Small enough to be intimate, and right next to the train tracks which makes for FUN and a super setting for photos. Spring and Fall the colors are amazing, but in summer, the roses ABOUND. I recommend taking a little walk through this old area, and just taking in its splendor.

This little park is one of the newest in Rocklin and features a covered picnic area, a few benches…read moreand a nice rose garden. The location of the park is exactly where the 1867 Rocklin Roundhouse was located when the transcontinental railroad was being constructed eastward into the Sierra. The park layout recreates the layout of the original roundhouse which included 25 engine stalls and a turntable. The rose garden is planted between railroad rails that have been placed to mimic where the steam engine stalls were once located. What happened to the original roundhouse? Well, early Rocklin suffered from numerous fires (one of the reasons that there are so few buildings left from the 1800's). The roundhouse burned down in 1869, was rebuilt, burned down again in 1873 destroying 10 steam engines. It was then used until about 1908 when operations were moved to Roseville. Within just a few years the roundhouse had become an eyesore and the city required the railroad to demolish it. A portion of the original granite rock wall from the roundhouse is still visible around the western side of the park. This park is just a portion of what will eventually become Rocklin's Heritage Park which will extend across Rocklin Road down Front Street. It will include the fully restored and historic St. Mary's Chapel as well as a recreation of the original 1900 fire house (currently under construction). If you are wondering where downtown Rocklin is located, this was the original heart of the city in the 1800's. It's nice to see that the history of this town is being honored with the construction of this park.
