We stopped by yesterday for the Rocklin Community Festival. It was a decent-sized event with a full carnival and plenty of rides that were perfect for my son. We opted for the $35 wristband, which was well worth it, he got to go on several different rides and hit the big slide multiple times.They had plenty of carnival games, vendors and food trucks. When it came time to grab a bite, my son picked Bubble Hive food truck. He got a waffle cone with vanilla ice cream and chocolate that was so big that we all ended up sharing it. Since it was Mother's Day, the beer garden and live music were a nice touch. They were serving mimosas, so my husband and I both grabbed one, since I was in the mood for something refreshing instead of beer. It was starting to get pretty hot out, so we only stayed for a couple of hours, but it was a fun outing and my son had a great time. read more

This is the second best book I've been to this is the best park around the area except there's one in Folsom but this one's probably better maybe but whatever that's besides the point this place is amazing. It has a little splash pad a playground grills a skate park a disc golf course a creek behind it that you can fish basketball hoops hockey baseball I love it. I recommend it. read more

I come to this park weekly at least. Beautiful vast grounds. I always wonder how far the park goes out. I walked out and it is pretty far. There is a playground, a splash pad, tennis courts, a dog park, basketball court, picnic tables, covered picnic area and sand volleyball. There is a barbecue area! pretty cool. Some Saturdays there are baseball games. It's nice to see the children play ball. The dog park is spacious, so much area for the dogs to run. I haven't had any problems with the other dog owners which is good. There is a roller hockey rink somewhere here. I haven't seen it. There is disc golf not sure how many holes. If you would like to celebrate a party or gathering Johnson Springview park is convenient. I looked up the acreage it is 90 acres. Great Park ! Pet Friendly , nice pavilions to reserve for kids birthday party and they have BBQ grills to use. Paths for walking or running and dog park, sports courts and fields. We attended an event at this park yesterday and we will be coming back! The park is large, with lots of open spaces and very clean. It has a nice area with restrooms, tables and a play area for children and it is adjacent to a lovely dog park. Everything was lovely and well maintained. Our visit has made our local parks seem a bit shabby and it is worth a bit of a drive to come visit. read more

Absolutely love this park! It's very clean and well maintained. They have a water area that the kids loved and two areas with play equipment-one for younger children and one for older. We had a family event of about 12 people and the picnic tables were perfect-love that they're situated between the water and play areas where you can keep an eye on the children. This review is for the new RRUFF dog park with the Johnson-Springview Park. This is a GREAT dog park. There are two seperate areas for small and large dogs and the fields are large and grassy, so minimal mud issues during/after rain. There are large trees within the park fields, so it's just a very relaxing park-type setting for K9s & humans. There were chairs to sit in but some park volunteers indicated benches had possibly been donated and on their way, which will be nice. Plus - the greater park itself is already known for disc golf, softball/baseball and just fun kids play - so not a bad place to make a family outing. read more

This is such a great park. It really has it all. Beach volleyball court, tennis courts, skate park, dog park, track, disc golf, covered bbq areas, a playground for the kids, plenty of green grass to kick around a soccer ball, and more! One of the great things about this park is how well maintained it is. The grass is green and the park is clean. One of my favorite features is FLUSHING TOILETS! The pond at the disc golf course is pretty filthy with trash but otherwise the park is well maintained. The disc golf course is a nice 18 holes. They restructure it a little now and again to keep it a challenge. The dog park is very nice because there is a separate area for large dogs and small dogs. The track is dirt which I actually like. It's tucked away in the back near a shaded walking trail (a little narrow for my liking. Not very kept. I don't recommend). There are water fountains at the track so I never bring my water bottle. There is bird poo on them all the time but I'm a country kid and it doesn't bother me a bit. read more

We visited the park because our photographer suggested to meet there for our family photo shoot. It does have some great backdrops for photos, but that's really the only good thing I can say about it. There were many homeless men mulling about (including at least two separately pushing around baby-less strollers which weirded me out a bit). Nearly the entire time I was there I smelled a combination of weed and cigarette smoke. I saw several beer bottle caps on the ground and my son picked up a lighter in the grass. Basically the only reasons you would visit the park would be to take your dog to the dog park, play frisbee (which seems to be very popular at this park, right up there with smoking), or take photos. Our kids wanted to stay after the photo shoot to use the play structure but we quickly vetoed that idea. read more

A lot to do here. I will try to list all the stuff here. Skate park, softball fields, dog park, used to have horse shoe pits (not sure if they are still there), a track towards the back and running paths throughout the whole area, tennis & basketball courts, Frisbee disc golf - with a disc shop, picnic areas, event center, wide open grass area, playground, Ingress portals (just in case you play), bathrooms, Street hockey rink..... It is well maintained with good access from multiple streets. Parking is pretty good but can fill up when a big or more than one event is going on. And they have lots of events here. Definitely worth a visit. read more

This might be less of a review and more of a PSA.... This past Saturday (10/22/16) I was at the park's play structure w my husband, kid (grade 3), and his biological mom at about 9am. Around 9:45 a friend from school showed up (grade 6) and play ensued just like in the 80's when we were kids. COOL! About 5 mins later the friends little sister (grade 1) showed up to play.... and play they did till the cops showed up. Apparently little sister had stopped to talk to the people how feed strays cats and had mentioned she and her brother has walked to the park without an adult prompting some concern. That and the fact that all the kids are now playing with my child's bio mom (who can be socially awkward) prompted a call to the police regarding unsupervised kids. The police tried calling the children's parents and when he couldn't reach them, drove to their home, leaving the children at the park to play and hang out with my husband, myself & our kid. About 10 mins later a visibly irritated mom came to collect her kids, after being told by the police someone was concerned for her kids safety. Here's your PSA. TALK TO YOUR NEIGHBORS! GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER! Now, I don't know the 2 kids who showed up, but my kid does; and that's good enough for me. I'll keep an eye on your kids at the park for as long as we are there. Not a problem! I'm probably going to yell at them to watch out and stay safe while yelling the same at my kid. You're ok with that, right? Feel free to come talk to me, ask where I live, make sure I'm local, assess the situation to be sure I'm not one of the child snatchers we all warn each other about. If things don't seem ok, or you get a funny vibe, THEN for the love of god CALL the police. Kick up a ruckus if you have to. The park if FULL of good people looking out for each other. We'll help catch the boogie man if he's around. To the cat lady: I see your intention is to watch out for the kids in the community. Thank you! I appreciate that. Please come say hi before calling the police on your neighbors in the park. I want to live in a world where it IS safe to send our kid(s) to the park to play, and I know you do too. Just because THE mom isn't there doesn't mean A mom isn't there. It does take a village. WE are the Village - all of us. To the mom who just needed a bit of a break on a Saturday morning: Send your kids to the park. Its ok, and they are safe. I'm sorry the police showed up at your door over nothing - that was probably unnerving. Please know your kids were fine, well behaved, and more then welcome to hang out for an hour or 2. It was really cool to watch 3 kids hanging out being kids and playing games. read more

This park is one of the nicest and largest suburban parks I have ever been to. It's a beautiful property with large old growth oak trees and has something for everyone. It has a disc golf course, beach volleyball, a skate park, a beautiful dog park, a basketball court, tennis courts, a special needs dog park, two large playgrounds for different age groups, baseball diamonds, large level grass areas, large covered bbq areas perfect for large gatherings that you can reserve, bathrooms, and I'm sure more that I didn't see. read more

Piled in the car with my family, we all questioned why Boy Scout meetings are always all the way out in Rocklin. Then we got here and discovered why. Springview is by far the nicest park I have ever seen in the suburbs. It is super open, well laid out, and clean. A dog park, disc golf, areas to explore, open grass, a little creek, and so much more. The main area we stayed in for the meeting was where the BBQ pits were, which are again the best I have ever seen at a park. They're located in a circle, with covered tables around the pits in the center. It's absolutely perfect for bringing a big group of people because the BBQ's could cook tons of food and there is plenty of seating, even if other people are there that day. Probably going to return next time I'm in town with the pups and friends! read more

I came to Johnson-Springview Park to watch some free outdoor theater. It was a bit of a haul from Davis, but the result was worth it. The rec center was spacious (plenty of room for the cast to get ready), and there was ample green space for all of us to sit out in our lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the show. The "stage" was totally flat, but they made do. The rest of this fairly spacious park was full of open green space, as well as areas with trees. It has an area for skating as well as a park for kids. I saw lots of people here with their dogs before dark. Yeah, I probably wouldn't drive all the way out here just to use the park, but it seems like a nice local park for families in the area. read more

This park pretty much has it all- baseball fields, soccer fields, disc golf course, dog park, new area, playground, clean restrooms, walking trails and skate park. My son plays his little league games here and the fields are really nice. The bleachers are covered as well as the dugouts which is amazing when it gets hot out! We take the kids here to ride their bikes and play on the playground which is pretty neat- it even has a rock wall. The dog park is separated into two areas for large and small pups. On super busy game days parking can be tricky but on a normal day there's no problem. Major bonus is its a two minute walk to the Dutch Bros. on the corner- perfect for a quick coffee run before the game. read more

I'm only reviewing the disc golf course. The park itself is very nice. I went here with a couple friends this past weekend. The course is in good shape. All the tees are concrete and the baskets are solid. The course was pretty packed but we managed to breeze through the first 11 unobstructed. Overall, I liked my round but was looking for more challenging holes and variety of terrain. The vast majority of holes are very similar: flat and straight through an oak forest. There's not much elevation change or hazards. I botched a couple shots and recovered very easily. The course got a bit more difficult towards the end but overall I felt like it could have used more variety. Big plus for the disc golf pro shop! I bought a couple competitively priced discs after my round. read more

This park has probably one of the best disc golf courses in the area. There are 18 holes and each of them are fun to play and can be quite challenging - making the game even better. There are lots of grassy areas so make sure you keep an eye on where your disc lands (especially if it lands in tall grass). There are benches and trees along the way so you can take a few minutes to chill if you wish or if you're waiting for the people in front of you to finish up on a hole. The park itself is beautiful with plenty of trees and scenery. It does tend to get crowded on weekends, so if you can make it out here on a weekday then it wouldn't hurt. But just be prepared to wait a while, especially if there are big groups. Either way, this is a fun thing to do on a nice day with a few good friends. It's also a great way to meet other people who play and you can form teams to make the wait go faster. The park is well taken care of and the course is easy to navigate - stop by if you want to play! read more

I can't believe there are no reviews of this place... Strange. There's a skate park here, a large field for soccer and the like... and also a tennis court or two. I come here for the disc golf. It's flat, fairly straightforward course. A great place for beginners and intermediate players. There are always a few folks out and about but it's never crazy busy which is nice. read more

I've been coming to this for 27 years and love it, but in the past month my son and I were stung by hornets on 3 different occasions in the same area of the park near the middle school. I contacted the Parks Dept to ask them to see if there's a nest but got no response. They should be more concerned because it's near a school. read more

I took a dog training class here with my pooch. I did not even know that this park existed. It's been around for a long time. After the class I decided I would come back and investigate. Meaning a major walk. It's a huge park. Tennis courts , soccer, baseball field . Lots of places to walk and run. There is a frisbee golf course here. It was my first time to see this, I thought this was something new but I found out it has been a sport for awhile. There is a small grocery store and a store for frisbee golf . I liked the walking paths and found that you can go quite a ways. It's hot in the summer so it's best to get going early during summer months. Winter is quiet and of course cold. It's a nice park with lots of tables for picnics and large groups. There is also a community center for classes of various sorts . read more

Flood Water Roller Derby loves J-S park! They have worked with us in securing times for our Roller Derby practices on the outdoor hockey rink. We look forward to participating in community activities here and creating our own events for the community to participate in too. I don't know of a more beautiful location with an outdoor track for us to skate. read more

Love this park! Lots of room and plenty of tables. Unless it's a major holiday, there'll always be a table in the covered patio area. We take a camp stove and a bunch of games and make a day of it. And usually we take the dogs with us and end up at the dog park. This is a great family place, too. Only bummer is that they no longer have the really tall swings - not that I'd get on them or anything.....just sad to see all the parks going to the 6' high swings these days. read more

My review of this park is for the Disc Golf. This is one of the two best courses in Sacramento. This is a full 18 holes and is well maintained. It has some open holes and some that are congested. Oh yeah, and on hole 3 there is a creek that runs through the middle of it so try to keep your discs out of it....They are hard to find!!! read more

Its a pretty nice park. It's big and clean. There are a lot of different areas to set up and enjoy a picnic and not feel too close to others. There's plenty to do for everyone. They have shaded areas with bbq grills that are great for large parties. There's a cool dog park, a nice play structure for kids, and restrooms. There's plenty of parking on both ends of the park. This park is pretty cool and I'll definitely be back with my kids and my pup! read more

This park is huge, has lots to do. We enjoyed the walking trail we took to get to the playground. Our son had so much fun, there's a little sandbox with digging claws, three different playgrounds by each other one that has just a little slide that is connected to a big rock you can climb on, the one next to it is few different slides that are medium sized, and the last one is the bigger sized slides, rock wall, and monkey bars. The swings are off to the side a little ways. Lots of benches and picnic tables. Plenty of grass space and a dog park. We didn't explore the park to see what else was there. read more

Awesome park for dogs to have some off leash time. There are so many birds and squirrels they can chase. Wave has pretty fast free wifi there if needed as well. My dogs love to go chase all the birds and squirrels here! read more
