We contacted this company to receive moving quotes from Colorado to Virginia. We were provided with two quotes, one for a traditional move and one for a snap container move. We were then asked which move we preferred. We said we only want a traditional move and were fine with paying more to receive that service. The moving company changed our move, without our knowledge or consent, to a snap container move, which is $600+ less than a traditional move. They refuse to compensate us for the difference in price. Stay away from this business. We have found them to be dishonest, disrespectful, and unwilling to do what is right. They worked hard to try to hide the fact that they provided us with a lower-cost service! Poor ethics, indeed. . In the photo you will see what a snap container looks like. . The movers who unloaded our items also damaged the floor and wall of the home we moved into that is only 1 year old. They did not inform us they knicked the wall, either. Ridiculous moving experience with Johnson. Too many issues to list. Poor packing, unmaintained truck (broke down), very little protection, leaking truck bay and unorganized truck loading just to name a few observations and frustrations. The Johnson Moving Crew was not properly equipped with insufficient blankets, broken hand truck and no straps. The movers admitted they were not adequately prepared and also admitted it's standard practice for Johnson to send them to jobs unprepared. The Johnson truck broke down after being fully loaded. It was eventually towed away loaded with our personal contents rattling and settling on it's own in the loosely packed truck bay. You could hear the crashing and crunching as the truck was lifted by the tow truck. This caused extreme damage to the contents as you could imagine. Because the Johnson truck would not start a tow truck was necessary but Johnson employees left before tow truck arrived requiring the Client (an 86 year old) and me to direct and manage the tow pick up. Johnson crew was nowhere to be found and quit answering their phone after 6pm apparently thinking is perfectly fine to allow their truck to be towed away unsupervised or without advising the Client as to what can be expected. Johnson offered to move our contents into another truck at their yard but when they admitted they did not have any other trucks available chose to just keep our contents in the broken truck and have it repaired loaded. This is when the already existing truck bay roof cracks allowed melted snow to enter the bay and onto our furniture..... causing even more damage to the finishes and soft goods! The loaded Johnson truck sat idle with our personal contents in freezing weather, wet and frozen, dirty and unprotected, for two (2) nights! It took two (2) days to repair the Johnson truck meaning our planned one day move took three days! This left us needing to find alternate housing for two nights and eat all our meals out or at a neighbors since we had nothing in our new home based on Johnson's promise of a one-day move. Our mistake for trusting them. Johnson denied our damage claim even with evidence with many photos and sued us for collections when we refused to pay without any offer to assist with damages or even an apology. We spent significantly more on attorneys than the cost of the move which we gladly paid. At least the attorney had value and was able to get the Johnson invoice waived. There are excellent options when choosing a mover in Northern Colorado. ADVANTAGE MOVING SYSTEMS or AMERICAN MOVING are excellent resources who will take care of your needs and treat you and your personal contents as their own. Avoid Johnson Moving and Storage at all costs. I know everyone has bad days but there were too many issues with Johnson Moving to allow for any level of empathy or understanding..... read more

Although their website states that it will be a stress-free move, it was extremely stressful. There was damage to both homes. They refused to pay for the damage to one of the homes. When I stopped payment in order to work out the damages, etc, they responded with a letter from their attorney, rather than try to work it out with me. They did not complete the move in the manner that was asked. They left my refrigerator in the garage for 4 days and my treadmill remains in the garage. The lack of customer service, empathy and professionalism was unbelievable. I would not recommend Johnson Storage and Moving. read more

As I watched the Johnson movers drop boxes labeled fragile, I knew my possessions would not arrive intact. They worked very fast but without any care for potential damage. Furniture arrived with many new dings and scratches. My dining room chair arm was broken. Many glass items were broken. An antique mirror that I paid extra to have them wrap was badly broken. The guys were very friendly and took great care in moving our things. That I'm pleased with. However, They needed a lift gate truck to move my husband's mechanics box and it was not available until the next day. Normally that would not have bothered us but the new owners were taking possesion the next day and caused some issues with us. We were also charged $1800 over the estimate which also causes us problems. I wish they were more accurate about the cost and prepared in the moving process. But the move is done and our things are safe and not broken. read more

I don't normally take the time to write reviews for things such as Amazon purchases, experiences in restaurants, etc...but I felt it important to do so after my experience with this company. After researching a number of "national" and local companies, for a work-related move from Greeley to Peyton, CO (including about eight days of gap time between closings, due to staggered closing dates on the sell/buy of homes), I decided to go with the proposal from (Greg Woods) at Johnson Storage and Moving. Greg gave a timely and professional bid that was competitive, and WHAT I actually asked for. (Other competitors quickly responded with quotes, and called to "follow up"...but failed to deliver what I actually requested for my company move). This could have been coincidental, but I suspect not, since I discovered that there's room for dishonesty in the moving industry. Unfulfilled quotes or "brokers" misrepresenting themselves, hoping to be the accepted bid while ultimately unable to deliver. Also...(other companies ignored my request for a "binding" contract...while a few others stated they could provide storage in their bid, only to last minute shuffle things, and step back from the original conversation/intent of our first conversation). Johnson Storage and Moving (Nick+Jason included) delivered on a very competitive proposal, and delivered on a partial pack/storage quote, as agreed upon. Excellent job with communication, follow-up, and the actual moving crew's professionalism/work ethic. Bottom line: I'm not affiliated with this company, nor know anyone from it, but they delivered on price, professionalism, and ultimately - on moving, temporarily storing, and delivering our goods. I did not want Johnson Moving and Storage handling our household goods from the beginning. We had several neighbors and friends who had bad experiences. When TMO scheduled our move with them, I specifically asked for a different company. (Because there are only two moving companies in Cheyenne, we were given the choice to accept Johnson Moving and Storage or wait two months to move.) Packing Day: Packing had been scheduled for two full days. When the team arrived on Day 1, my husband walked the three-person packing team from Johnson Moving and Storage through the house, pointing out closets and an outdoor shed that needed to be packed. The team was very nice and set to work packing up our household goods. At about 1400 they say they are wrapping up and heading out soon. I walk through the house and point to several closets and the outdoor shed that hadn't been packed. They said they forgot about those spaces and acted like it was a burden and they were in a rush to leave. The team lead referred to our stuff as "shit" which gave us the first view into the poor service we would continue to encounter with Johnson Moving and Storage. The team did not return on Day 2, although there were several items that had not been packed. These ended up being packed on load day after I made several phone calls. Load Day: When the moving truck driver (from a different company) arrived two days later to load our shipment, his team was frustrated that the pack team from Johnson Moving and Storage had not packed, inventoried, or marked items appropriately. All items had to be re-inventoried. Due to poor planning by UniGroup, a Johnson Moving and Storage truck was called in when all of our items did not fit on the first truck. This team threw all of our stuff into their moving van without wrapping furniture. We were very dissatisfied with the way they had loaded our belongings and called their supervisor, Mr. Mark Jimenez. Mr. Jimenez made excuses for the team saying they did a sloppy job because they didn't expect to be there and had to work on another move because it was the busy season. He said he would take "full responsibility" for the poor service and unprepared crew. Our items were taken back to the Johnson Moving and Storage warehouse where they sat for the next two weeks. By our required delivery date, our items had not even left Cheyenne. When our items were delivered to our destination, all of the items from the Johnson Moving and Storage Truck were damaged or destroyed. The destination movers even said "Wow, it looks like your packers were pissed off." I will be filing a hefty claim for the damage. Mark Jimenez promised me he would take full responsibility for the damages so hopefully he can pay this bill. read more

Looked at fb page and saw no messages about being closed. Drove down from Wellington and there's a sign on the door saying they're closed due to weather and would reopen at 8 am today. Well it's 2pm and the doors are locked. Woman who called back was unapologetic and unpleasant. read more
