The problems arose when we went to pick up our son. We had an appointment, and the person did not show up until 1 hour later. Today is June 9, 2022, and we have yet to receive our son's death certificate. I had to purchase one from the state of Kentucky because we had to settle his affairs. The most important being monthly benefits for our son's 3-year-old daughter through Social Security. I have contacted Layken and have not received a response. After talking to the deputy coroner, she informed me that others had had the same problem. As soon as I can find the correct person to report this business to, besides the Better Business Bureau, I will report this business. Very disappointed and do not recommend this business. I wish I had gone to Care Cremation and paid the extra $200. When something is unexpected, not everyone has tons of money lying around. The price was the only reason we chose this place. We should not have had to wait for our son's ashes. We are devastated at our son's loss, adding more pain to what we were and are experiencing.

It took about 20 minutes to walk around the entire area. However, it's not the smallest cemetery I've visited. Several tulips were in bloom. There are lots of trees. There are several benches throughout the cemetery. The driving lanes are very narrow. It's difficult for two cars to pass each other, but the paths are nice for walking. They have a special section of the cemetery called Babyland. That was sad. There were lots of balloons and flowers. One of the more interesting graves is one of Tent Girl (Barbara Hackmann Taylor), a young girl who was murdered in the 1960s. Her body was found along US 25. It took 30 years to identify her with DNA testing. She was the subject of a 48 Hours special. The headstone features a police sketch and description. There are many very old tombstones dating back to the 1800s as well as several new ones.
