I've had Doug out over the years to work on every appliance in my kitchen at one time or another. He is fast, efficient, and gets the job done the first time. My dishwasher clogged. He was out the same day and it hasn't clogged again. My refrigerator door broke. He ordered the part and came out and had it replaced within fifteen minutes. My range wouldn't heat properly. He recommended a different brand of igniter and had it heating in less than an hour. He doesn't tarry. When you're having an issue with an appliance, you just want the problem solved the first time at a reasonable price. That's exactly what you get with this guy. I mean, I don't want to buy a new appliance. Have y'all priced those lately? So I'm gonna try and keep mine going as long as I can and as long as it financially makes sense (or cents). I've been telling my friends and family about my incredibly wonderful experience, but I figured I would do Yelp a disservice if I didn't put this in writing, considering I found Doug here. First, I researched my issue (my Kenmore washer wouldn't spin) and found a simple, and inexpensive DIY fix-- but I didn't have the time or interest to actually do it. All of the video replies stated they saved a little over $100. Knowing me, I'd buy a new washer before I'd order a part and fix it myself, so I looked on Yelp for a repairperson. I sent my problem, along with a few pictures, and within a few minutes I received a very reasonable quote ($110 - $130), and they were free the same day, within hours! Done. After a little back and forward (me forgetting to respond overnight) the repair was scheduled. I was late to arrive home from work, but Doug was not. He was there, and ready for the job. He used original parts and was finished in less than 30 minutes, for $117.74 (less than the quote). He provided an invoice and receipt, accepted my credit card, and was on his way. **Update: Interesting how the story gets twisted when someone doesn't like that you have complained about your service (note enraged response from business owner below, which is no where close to accurate). What he neglects to mention is that one of the first things I stated when I called was that this refrigerator is close to 20 years old (the water problem was a completely separate and secondary issue). He also doesn't mention that I held the phone right up to the refrigerator to capture the loud noise it was making. If the call was recorded, then the tech could hear the noise. When he came out, he knew immediately from the sound that it was the compressor - he didn't need to pull the fridge out to confirm that. So, he admits that they knew it was very old right from the start (confirmed by the model number I provided) and they knew it was the compressor since the call was recorded and the tech could hear that. And despite the fact that they supposedly give free estimates and I deliberately asked, "is it even worth fixing this", they didn't say no or offer an estimate of what it would be for the repair - they specifically said it was worth having the tech come out. I made it very clear on both calls that I didn't know that this fridge was worth saving. But I guess he is overlooking those parts of the phone calls. So yeah - I have a "bad attitude" about people misleading me. He does make two very good points though: 1. Apparently, I shouldn't trust appliance repair professionals and need to do my own research instead, and 2. If you are looking for tile, please check out my review he refers to (and the recent reviews from a number of other people). You don't want to get your tile there.** I called about an old refrigerator and spoke with a very nice woman. I explained we thought the compressor was going out and she said she would describe the issue to the tech and get back to me. She called me back the next day and said the tech was available to come out the next day. I said, " Well, wait - this is a really old fridge. If the compressor is going out, is it even worth repairing or is it better to just buy a new fridge? I don't want to pay a $90 service fee just to have someone come out and tell me to get a new fridge." And she said, "Oh no, we would never do that to you. The tech would only come out if he thought it was something worth fixing." Can you guess what happened next? The tech showed up the next day right on time. Within 10 seconds he said, "Oh yeah - it's the compressor. You know, that's really expensive to fix - you're better off just buying a new fridge." I replied, "This is EXACTLY what I asked the woman in your office - why are you here charging me a $90 service fee for something I shouldn't even fix?" He checked his records, called the office, and confirmed that I had told her it was the compressor and lowered the charge to a $55 "diagnostic fee." This was a complete, and what appears to be deliberate, waste of my time and money. I understand some businesses are struggling right now, but this isn't the way to try to make money. Got a quote in the late afternoon and a two hour service window for the next day. Sure enough they called ahead and showed up in the window. Doug was very professional and quick to diagnose the problem with my dishwasher. In and out in about 30 minutes. Guaranteed the work for 90 days; if it turned out I needed new parts, the service fee would count toward the cost of the parts. My first call to their number was answered promptly where they took notes on my issue while I shared that urgency was needed as I was hosting Thanksgiving later this week. They called me back twice to update me on Doug's arrival. He showed up right on time and was very thorough with the repair and his communication. After reassembling the unit he verified that it was working properly and found that he needed to go back in for another adjustment. All work was completed and the Oven is working well. The moving company I chose to use lost my boxes and messed up my washer. Doug came out to look at my washer because I just thought it was off balance. He diagnosed it and told me how much it would be to repair it. Instead of encouraging me to pay so much money to have him fix it (due to the expense of the parts) He actually encouraged me to go buy a new one instead. I found that really amazing because instead of encouraging me to spend a lot of money to have him fix it he was honest about the best option do which wouldn't benefit the company. We have a French door refrigerator with the bottom freezer and we couldn't get the freezer drawer opened. It seemed to be frozen shut in place. I found this company, appliance medic, and explained the situation and asked that we get someone out as soon as possible. They were able to work me in the same day. Doug came out and was able after a while to get the freezer door opened. The defrost drain had frozen over and caused the drawer to be frozen shut. He cleaned out the drain and put everything back as it was before. He noticed a leak in the waterline so I asked him to replace the water line. He went to Lowe's the next morning and got the hose and came on over and replace the water line. Doug is a very nice person did a great job and cleaned up after he finished the repairs. I do not hesitate in recommending him for any appliance repair that you may have. He's very affordable and very competent. read more

The employee that came was very professional. He brought covers for shoes without even asking And also put a mat at the door. As far as employee goes he was 5 star. My issue is with the amount charged for estimate is ridiculously too expensive. Yes I knew beforehand. Most companies charge close to same amount. I paid $90 for someone to tell me it would cost $350 to fix my dishwasher And was possible could cost even more. I think that's a very unfair policy for the customer. This was the most positive experience I have ever had with an appliance repair. My three year old refrigerator stopped working, and I did an online repair request from LG which told me the repair would not be under warranty. However, when I contacted this company, Doug suggested I clarify with LG s as he believed it would be covered. Long story short, the repair was covered but Doug had to jump through hoops with LG to get authorized to do the repair (which was major). Doug came to the house later on the Friday after thanksgiving and worked until late in the evening to fix the refrigerator. He is extremely knowledgeable. Honest, and conscientious. He is the best appliance repair person you could get. He saved me time and $1000 by steering me in the right direction before he even had the job. I rarely, if ever, write a review, but in this case, I found I had to. Two men from Appliance Repair just left our house, and they were amazing. Professional, friendly, and efficient, they fixed our broken Maytag washer in just over an hour. Yes, you might say that they did what was needed to do, but let me explain why I think this company is so extraordinary. #1. After being told on June 29th that the company from which we purchased our machine couldn't come to fix our machine until July 10th, I called Appliance Repair immediately, and within a few hours and a couple of text messages later, I had a quote and a service time set for the next day between 11 and 1. I had used Appliance Repair to look at and fix a washer in a rental unit we own about a month ago, and they had been great. #2. I received a call 20 minutes before they arrived just to double check that someone was at the house. #3. Two men arrived, and because of the text messages the previous day, they already knew the error codes that had flashed up on the washer's "dashboard." They explained what they planned to do and set to work. #4. When they finished, they explained what had happened, and we now know that we need to diligently empty our pockets before washing our clothes. In this case, the culprit was a drywall screw. #5. Both men came into our home wearing masks, and they kept their masks on for the duration. I never asked, but I so appreciate the gesture. In short, Appliance Repair is awesome. read more

Yesterday was the second time I have called Appliance Medic and I was once again pleased and impressed. Doug arrived masked and prepared for what was needed done. On the phone when I told him meat seemed to be thawing in the freezer he guided me to look for several indicators that told him my freezer had a refrigerant leak. While he loaded the refrigerant he was willing to give advice that I asked for as I did plan to replace the Fridge; brands to avoid, his personal favorite for warranty and service even the best location to purchase from because they self service the warranty instead of supplying the parts and you pay the labor. I called several appliance repair businesses and all told me that they don't offer same day service. The last number I called was Apppliance Medic. Not only did they offer same day service, they only charged a $69.99 service charge. AND, they said that they could be there within an hour. The technician arrived as scheduled, found the problem in minutres, had the necessary part to make the repair to my refrigerator and was on his way. I expected to be gouged but the part was ONLY $30 and no additional labor to install it! Not only were they available and very punctual, they were professional, friendly and honest. 5 STARS!!!
