She came out with a case and took bottles out to make a 6 pack for me. I thought that was generous until I got home and saw that the beer expired. I went back to the store and the person there said he had no authority to take the beer back and I would have to talk to manager. I didn't want to waste my time going back and forth so I threw it out. The store is nicely renovated, maybe they need the money to pay for renovations and that's why they are selling old beer. What else has expired? Be careful and check expiration dates before you leave the store.

That says a lot about the way they run their business. They have micro brews as well as national brands of beer. You can get them cold from the fridge or you can get them in a case on the shelf to take home for later. Lots of parking in the front of the store.

My only point to grow on is the specialty collections service they have in the glass enclosed room to the right when you enter. I have gone in there several times only to not be greeted at all by the person working in the area. It makes me not want to spend a little extra for their special wares. And that frankly seems to defeat the point of highlighting them so nicely. But besides this, it is a great store with good service worth many repeat visits!

But I went to Douglas Liquors on probably 15 occasions and never got a "How you doin' today? Did you find everything you were looking for?" or a "Hey, I notice you get the ____ a lot, but have you tried the ____? I really like it." When the person behind the counter has more charm than a three-bean salad, I'm a little more likely to become a regular. When I got there, I saw a small store with a section for wines, but they were not alphabetically organized nor really organized by country, wine type or any other category...basically they had a bunch of white wines in one area and a bunch of red wines in another area. He said that he had not seen that label in a while...and he then told me that the website had not been updated in years and they were trying to take it down.... I'm very disappointed because we've been giving Atwood our business for many years now but on the…read more26th I bought 2 bottles of wine and on the 27th I noticed my bank showing a double debit for that amount. It would have been fairly simple for the manager to refund me the 23.98 but instead he was not very nice and told me he couldn't do anything about it, I would have to call my bank. The bank filed a claim but they're going to have to call Atwood anyway and it will just take longer. Shame on the manager on duty today, Monday, January 3, 2024!
