He was often quick to brush off my concerns and was very judgemental of me feeding my dogs real food and homemade meals on more than one occasion. The last straw was when I brought my 14 yo rescue Pom to him on two separate occasions because she was having breathing issues and what seemed like fainting spells. She was a very alert, active and happy girl but for this one issue. He was quick to tell me she was and sounded fine but berated me about the care I was giving her due to these issues. None of which were dangerous or harmful. I stopped taking any of my pets to him after this visit as I knew he had to be missing something vital. At that time I had 3 other dogs, one of which had a previously diagnosed heart condition and I felt he was untrustworthy for their care. Not even 3 months later at 2 in the morning my sweet girl died in my arms at OSU. They had found that she had advanced lung disease but by then there was nothing they could do for her. Crushed. The disrespect, arrogance and incompetence I experienced from Dr. Sears was utterly shameful. I think it's time Dr. Sears retires and passes the reigns to a more compassionate and attentive veterinarian.

I took my puppy in for routine vaccines. Dr. Clementz came in, spent time with my pup, gave her a check up while sitting on the floor and petting her. She apologized for making us wait but honestly, everyone is short staffed so I don't worry about it too much anymore. They treat your pet like their own and the Dr. brings her dog in on most days and she is the official greeter of the practice. To be truthful, going here makes me feel like I am going to see friends and it's always a pleasure.

SO - with COVID, the "parents" are not allowed inside with their pet. You call the office once you arrive, a staff member comes out to retrieve your pet, the vet calls you once they have visited with your pet, a staff member calls shortly after for payment of services, and then a staff member brings your pet out afterwards. It's as simple as that. I called Compassionate Care after being referred to them by a friend. My family and I added a Shih-Poo puppy (Molly) to our family a few weeks ago so I wanted to do a wellness visit and make sure that she was up-to-date with her vaccinations. The staff members and vet techs were super friendly (over the phone and when getting Molly and dropping her back off). The vet was even more friendly and super informative. Unfortunately, I do not remember his name - but it was not Dr. Miles. I do not see anyone listed on their webpage except for Dr. Miles. The vet went over EVERYTHING with me that had to do with taking care of and training a puppy. He spent about thirty minutes on the phone with me and I absorbed everything that he had to share. I really enjoyed my time with him. It showed me that he was both compassionate and caring! I also really like the app that Compassionate Care uses to keep you up to date with your appointments. With having a puppy, I think that this is super handy. We have another appointment in two weeks for boosters and I am looking forward to speaking with the staff and vet again. If you have a pet, I would highly recommend Compassionate Care!
