It's quite easy to walk to the Funicular (cable car) and ride up to the upper city. The service at this hotel was top notch. Every encounter I had with all levels of the hotel staff were top notch. I'd recommend this hotel to any of my colleagues staying in Bergamo. On the first floor they have a dining area for a daily breakfast buffet which I liked very much as it is complimentary for hotel guests. The hotel breakfast made mornings prior to going into the office very easy. On the 8th floor, there is a very nice rooftop restaurant that has some very nice views of the city of Bergamo, and also the old city. The food at this restaurant was very good and I recommend dining there at least once for the views.

The distant and cold (but professional) front desk staff will take care of your needs, seemingly without ever breaking a smile. Ever. Still, this hotel offers many conveniences including a location on two major transit paths: the underground and Milan's ultra-efficient public bus service. The 81 line will get you to and from Stazione Centrale in about five minutes, if you don't feel like making the 15-20 minute walk. Free wireless internet access is available if you ask. There's an 'always on' outlet in your room for charging electronic devices. All other outlets switch off after you pull out your keycard from the control panel. And an included buffet breakfast bar at La Terrazza restaurant on the sixth floor offers hot and cold foods of decent quality to get your day started. Just don't be in a rush for coffee - there's an interminable queue at the espresso machine, and I didn't see any obvious brew coffee sitting around. If only the employees would treat their guests with a warmer demeanour, this Best Western hotel would actually teeter on the cusp of five solid stars. As it is, as long as you can limit your engagement with them, your stay here will be a-okay.
