Environment: When I first walked in I was expecting a more traditional gelato shop where you go and stand in a line, pick some gelato, they scoop it, you eat kind of style. Instead, they give you a table and a menu where you pick what you'd like from sundaes to waffles to regular gelato. I was kind of bummed cause I would've loved to try a couple before ordering. The environment was fun though, lots of space and tables. Service: The service was good, friendly and attentive. Food: the gelato was delicious. Decent price for the size of the sundae which was huge, definitely large enough for 2 people to split. The strawberry gelato was amazing, the soft serve on the top wasn't my favorite, took away from the sundae a bit. When I was in Brighton earlier this year I went to catch up with some old school friends at an Ice Cream Parlour called Jojo's Gelato in Brighton. If you're into ice cream(/all kinds of sweet desserts that have lots of sugar in) and like the 'American Diner' style then you might want to check this place out! It's colourful, the staff are friendly and welcoming and the place has an unbelievable selection of Artisan homemade ice cream and sorbets to choose from! As you probably know by now (because I think I might have mentioned it a couple of times in other reviews) I am Vegan and I was incredibly excited when I saw there were ten vegan sorbet flavours to choose from (TEN!) plus dark chocolate too... This is one of those awesome Ice Cream Parlours that lets you try any and every flavour you want to before committing to one (or two, or a few)! After sampling a couple of the sorbet flavours, I opted for peach sorbet scoop along with an incredibly indulgent scoop of the dark chocolate, with strawberries on top. I expected it to come in a little bowl (seeing as I ordered a "2 scoop" bowl for £3.79 + 49p for fresh strawberries) and was pretty blown away when I was greeted by magnificent lookin' thing! My peach and dark choc sorbet dessert cost me less than £4.30 in total, which I think is fairly reasonable as a treat. Jojo's Gelato would make a super cute place to go for a date, to catch up with old friends (like I did) or take the kids as a special treat! My (non Vegan) friends got incredible looking waffles with ice cream, fruit and whipped cream! I struggled to finish mine and couldn't even consider looking at the waffle dishes for too long, let alone eating them! The only thing I didn't enjoy about this place is that it was quite nippy, we were sat in there for about 1.5 hours so I really felt the chill. read more

Endless range of sundae options! We have been quite a few times and will continue too! We've only ever tried the Ice-cream, I recommend 'make your own' now as there's so many options and can chose the size. My boyfriend likes the Mocha sundae but it's too much for me! Next time we're going to try one of the waffles as although we haven't tasted one yet when someone on a different table ordered one we had massive food envy as it looked delicious! Finally, a dessert place that's open late! Coming from the States, I've struggled finding a dessert shop to go to after dinner here in Brighton. It's disappointing knowing you can't get a coffee and cake somewhere unless you're at a restaurant but who wants to pay their prices! Thankfully Jojo's offers this solution - gelato, cakes, crepes, sundaes, waffles, shakes... need I say more? Prices are reasonable and the portions are ginormous. They have table service as well if you want to dine in but there's also a take-away option. I had the Cookies Sundae and my husband ordered the Chocolate Nut Sundae and were pleased with them both. Aside from cocktails and cupcakes, I am also a massive lover of Ice Cream. Jojo's Gelato has been open for around a year now. I walked past one day as the inside was being constructed, and the owners were handing out samples of their Gelato. Not just teeny spoonful samples of Gelato, but actual massive scoop-sized portions of Gelato! Needless to say I was very impressed and was looking forward to going there when it opened. Fast forward a few months, I finally get around to going in there to buy some cupcakes and ice cream. You are allowed to sample any of the many flavours of Gelato that they sell. I have had to knock off one star from my review, simply because every time I have been in there, the member of staff that serves me never seems to quite know what she is doing. I'm not sure whether it's a training issue, but getting served always ends up being a lot more awkward than it needs to be. Also - they sell Lola's Cupcakes! But there has been more than one occasion where I have been in to get one, after seeing them on display, to be told they are out of cupcakes and the ones on display are 'display only' - They should perhaps make that a little clearer! Aside from those two little blips, the Gelato AND the cupcakes really are fantastic, and I shall be going there again in the future. read more

Poor, inappropriate choice of music. Bad lighting. Choices of ice cream was great, but far too much ice cream. Actual ice cream tastes cheap and nasty. I had the yoghurt sundae which has loads of fruit and nuts on it, but doesn't need so much ice cream or coulis. Too many flavours, confused combination. Staff were attentive but didn't seem to communicate well with each other. read more

For me this place is all about the waffles. As an adult it is not often that your eyes pop out your head when your food is delivered to your table. I am yet to finish a whole waffle (not a complaint JoJos- don't make them smaller!)- it comes laden with fruit and real chocolate sauce not that syrupy synthetic stuff you buy in squeezy bottles. I can't remember how many lunch dates I've convinced to go here now. It's been a while and I definitely need a sweet lunch soon! Only lose a mark as I've tried most flavours here and some aren't great. All round good though. Get a waffle though. Really! read more

This place is super awesome on the inside. The ice cream is displayed in a space like container - or atleast that's how cool it looks. There is so much space on the inside - big big comfy booths - with an upstairs and downstairs. There are many many flavors to choose from. My coffee latte Carmel gelato was DELICIOUS. As an American student here I was looking to be impressed and I was! Incredibly poor service. Went in and had to ask for menus after being seated and forgotten about for 15minutes. Didn't actually get to order our food for a further 15minutes, despite going up to ask if we could place our order and asking one employee several times if we could order with her. When FINALLY we got to order we didn't get a modicum of apology, in fact he seemed rude and standoffish with us. In total we were there for 45 minutes before getting our crepes and ice creams, which I believe may have been sitting there for quite a while as the crepes were rubbery and cold and the ice cream melting. 45 minutes seems a tad excessive for mediocre ice cream and crepes. This isn't the first time we have been greeted by poor slow service and a standoffish borderline rude attitude either. V disappointing service and average food. read more

Very disappointed with customer services and especially someone whom called himself as a manager.So I went there with my friend(As I got 25% voucher and also I saw one deal on website £7.99 for any waffle and milkshake.After we had them.It is time to pay so I was surprise that I couldn't use voucher with that deal (I went there on 26/04 with my sister and I used that voucher with that deal and staff there took it).I told him that ur staff member took it before(I assumed that I can do like that),He asked me whom did it and told me that is wrong(look liked it is my fault that he didn't train his staffs member properly even when we tried to order £7.99 deal 2 of his staffs didn't know it,they had to wait for him to take my order(what is this worst management?how come he didn't tell his staffs about the promotion,it posted on FB on 24/04/18).He ignored that I couldn't use any 25% voucher and 10% student discount when I told him that if I didn't use £7.99 deal and pay separately and use 25% voucher will work out cheper liked £8.60.He pointed to me that £7.99 deal,I can have any waffle which it is £6.99 the expensive one (but I didn't see any point of doing that after I finished with my dessert).He charged me like £10.49 which is also wrong (waffle and milkshake deal are £7.99 and add 3 scoops of ice cream for £1.99,all together should be £9.98 but he charged me 50 pence extra(this happened all the time as I am a regular customer one scoop charged 99P,2 scoops charged £1.49 but whoever work there alway put 1 scoop and 2 scoops then will charged you guys over 50 P if you didn't recognize.I asked him to give me money back on that and told him that I want to use 25% voucher before but you ignored me that so now I paid more than I supposed to pay.He told me that you didn't say that.I had my friend with me.I handled that voucher to him before he charged me(I didn't see any point of giving Taj customers 25% voucher out when you can't even use it there).Instead of trying to save me money,he wanted me to pay more that I supposed and only I heard from him 'It is not his fault in the front of people(how you called yourself a s a manager,I think he should go back to learn more about management skills,seem liked he is lack of it...for example he said it is not his fault,it meant it is customer's fault...He told me to come back later as he had a lot of things to do in the kitchen,how is it manager?How can you tell customer to come back to deal with the problem.Good manager will sort it out straightaway not wait for later.I didn't surprise why Taj gave out 25% voucher because this place ran by the worst management.He needed to think that his business is in the services industry.Good taste good place didn't work out if you had a bad customer services.Maybe he needed to be more friendly and had a good management skills than he got now.I don't think I will go back there again.I paid every single pences for my great experience not for this crap. read more
