I can highly recommend going to see doctor Hyman for any hip issues especially. He has two offices, tucker and buckhead (which he is only every 1st Monday of the month) unfortunately. I still take the ride to tucker whenever I need to see him. I have gotten cortisone shots and noticed a huge improvement. Make sure you check if the facility is in your network ( health insurance covers) if you do get a cortisone shot because it's run by a different facility. read more

Dr Hyman and his staff are excellent at what they do, my only complaint is time-management. I arrived at 1:13 for a 1:30 appointment and I am still in the waiting area as I'm writing this review at 1:57. No one (front desk) has said anything about the long wait. This is not the first time that this has occurred, its the second time waiting in excess of 30 minutes for a scheduled appointment. Life is fluid and things happen, as such inform your patients of this, so that they're not left wondering what's going on. Saying something is way better than saying nothing at all **Update** At 2:31, the back office assistant came out to call a patient back that had a two pm appointment, she then calls for "JoAnn", then "joanmarie", I advise her my name is AnnMarie to which she says yes you, I'll call you back after him (patient that came after me, who's appointment was 30 minutes after mines), I finally get called back at 2:41. The PA comes in at 2:44 and my appointment is over and done with by 3. This includes speaking to Doug and the Front desk manager Diana about their time management-or lack thereof. read more

I have been an active athletic type person since my school days (many moons ago). I injured my foot a few months ago which has now resulted in an injury to my knee. I researched Sports/Orthopedic Physicians and Dr Hyman's name consistently came up. I made an appointment and so relieved that I did. The service was impeccably professional and impressive beginning with the front desk staff to the nurses and PA who attended me before Dr Hyman came in. Immediately, the doctor moved my knee around and examined it. I am now scheduled for an MRI and X-ray and feel that recovery is well one the way! Highly recommended! read more

Don't waste your time with this one, they are not handling the shut down well. Filled out forms and sent in. I received a message that they had my forms and to call and set up an appointment. When I called back, they said they did not have anything from me. I sent them again, and we were able to set up an appointment. Just one available that week, at 8:30 am. I had the call with the PA, and it seemed to go well. He said that I would be contacted in the next week for imaging appointment. Nothing happens, so I call back a couple of weeks later. I am told that I will hear from someone and get an email and phone call. Well, it has been another week, and nothing. I keep checking my spam folder thinking maybe I missed something. This is after I had a call with them discussing pain, issues with walking, and sleeping. read more

I visited Dr. Hyman for a second opinion on options for my knee pain. He was the first doctor that was able to explain to me why some days are good and some are bad. I was thoroughly examined by Danielle and Dr. Hyman separately. They confirmed a partial knee replacement was an option, and for me the best option. I had surgery 19 days ago and am very pleased with the overall experience from start to finish. I am obviously still recovering and going to PT but I can say for sure, no more knee pain. I am working with Katherine in PT through his office and initially only planning to do the first 3 or 4 visits with her since it isn't close to my house. 9 visits later I am still with her and must say the experience with her has been just as good. Jon Hyman is one of the best orthopeadic doctors in Atlanta I have been to. Not only is he compassionate and caring, he is exceptionally talented as a surgeon. He performed two labral repairs on my hips and as a physical therapist that has treated people with my surgery, I could not be more impressed with the outcome and speedy recovery. He has trained with the best in the country and his skills speak for themselves. If you have any hip impingements, labral tears, or any other issue requiring arthroscopic surgery. Dr. Hyman is a great doctor. I came to him a couple years back to get a second opinion on the MRI done to my left knee. It was torn ACL and damaged meniscus. He was very attention to detail and answered all my questions before the surgery (LOL believe me I had alot of questions). The surgery was well done. I found out about this A+ Orthopedic Surgeon from a friend in Florida, which is where I live. I made an appt and drove all of the way from Jacksonville, FL to see him. His opinion on what was going on with me and my situation meant everything to me and every word that he had to say was so true! I was not healing properly and there was a reason why. I hope to go back there and have another surgery if needed. I would rather go back to Atlanta and see Dr. Hyman than to stay here and live without hope of ever walking normal again! I saw Dr. Hyman several years ago when after a bad fall the labrum in my hip was torn. I assumed I'd need surgery and was recommended to Dr. Hyman since he's one of the few that perform that surgery in the Atlanta area. He suggested trying other treatments first saying that if we can get inflammation down long enough, the tear may heal on its own. It took a good 6 months or so but my hip did heal and surgery was avoided. His staff is great - very professional yet personable. I highly recommend him. It's a bit of a wait to get in with him, but given my awful experiences with a few other orthopedists, the wait was well worth it. read more

Dr. Hyman is an amazing doctor and surgeon. I had a sporting accident a few years ago that resulted in a complete Achilles rupture and severe nerve damage to my left leg. I was transported by ambulance to the hospital where I was stabilized given an ice bath and my leg was placed in a plaster cast up to my thigh. I was then told that I would lie in bed until I could be seen by an orthopedic surgeon. The next day a good friend contacted my insurance provider who recommended Dr. Hyman and I saw him the following day. Upon arrival and removal of the cast he immediately realized that I had a bad Achilles rupture probably one of the worst that he'd seen in his career. He immediately scheduled my surgery for that Friday. He was thorough in letting me know what to expect before, during and post operative. Although I had an extremely long road to recovery he and his staff was there every step of the way. He is awesome and I am very happy I found him and his brilliant surgical hands! read more

O loved Dr Hyman's whole office. At no point did i feel like a number. They knew my name when i came in, even the casual walk by nurse/assistant new my name. I went in for my hip, and was given the news that i needed a replacement. Which is something he doesn't do so he referred me out. And knowing this he still took his time with me and answered A LOT of questions, and made me feel comfortable. His PA Danelle originally saw me on my first visit, She took her time with me and made me feel heard. I really appreciated that she was really listening. She was also able to see things on my previous MRI that my previous Doc didn't see. The office assistants Veronica and Catlyn made me feel like i was the most important patient they had. They remembered not only my name when i called, but who i was. Even though i did not use Dr Jon Hyman for surgery, i felt compelled to write a review to express how really great it felt going into his office, but everyone there. Dr Hyman did a great job on my shoulder. This was my third right shoulder surgery and it was a wreck. Couldn't go for a walk without serious pain. 4 years later I have no issues and am as active as I want to be.
