Located near the center of city sits a cool place to check out if you are looking to bring alive your newest project. Just above a cool antique furniture store, they have studios areas and bays, as well as an outside in case you need a different look. They also have a make up area and a nice little lounging area. Very nifty. They also have a basement with an awesome dark and gritty feel, perfect for those edgier shoots and more. There is no limit to what you want to do. Boston Studio Photography can provide it. The staff was incredibly helpful, friendly and went the extra mile, especially when I had to reschedule several times. They were also really helpful setting up the lights. As far as the lights specifically, they were fairly easy to use and great for our particular shoot. They knew their stuff and were very accommodating. Renting this space for a couple of hours runs a few hundred dollars, but mind you, that includes lights and a decent hourly rate, depending on where you want to shoot. Its all incredibly reasonable, especially since the staff themselves are photographers as well. You feel at ease and the price of renting is definitely worth it. It was a great experience renting there and I foresee many projects of mine being shot there in the future. Boston Studio Photography is a great studio.

Paul and Younes are great managers, the space is wonderful -- providing natural light and the artificial light, access to a rooftop and urban building with fire escapes, standard studio and basement /exposed brick settings in which to shoot. The whole space is very accessible and very affordable. Younes and Paul have also offered group photoshoots from time to time, which have given both photographers and models a chance to shoot with a variety of people in the varied settings of the studio in different themes. It has been tremendously helpful to my growth as a photographer to be part of BSP, and I hope you take the opportunity to be part of it - either as a photographer, a client looking for a photoshoot or a model or makeup/hair/styling professional working on shoots here.

Very easy to mark your favorites and determine which ones you want to order. I would recommend picking the right day and the right season you're wanting because Lisa REALLY has a great eye for light. She offers packages that are quite expensive but, for no reason, she doesn't include the digital files. I'm not asking for the originals. She could even be providing watered down versions (lower quality) in the package but no, she charges for them at very very expensive prices. After purchasing a package, I wrote to her asking for the digital files. I asked for two files and she wrote back asking for more than $100 dollars. My response was obviously no. She lost a business opportunity there. This year I also learned that the packages don't include the digital files but only the printed pictures. Someone should tell her we live in the age of Facebook, Twitter and email. Grandparents and family members may enjoy seeing the pictures on their computers instantly. The price for an extra digital file if you purchase a package: $38 dollars. If not purchasing a package: $79 dollars Makes no sense to me. Thats why, although she is a good photographer with a great eye for portraits, she isn't very savvy with her prices and clients. I would definitely recommend simplifying the package choices and providing digital files (even lower quality and not the original .raw files) for parents to share.

Maybe "plan B" should have been brought up when I asked 3-4 weeks earlier if for sure they had time to finish 2 stars and not 1 because the final product apparently looked pretty good (although I never saw it and my parents were happy that I was thoughtful and likely would have liked any picture I would have sent them). 2 stars also because they broke their rule and gave me a few of the digital negative (very low-res) for use in a powerpoint presentation. That's just too bad. The expectations were quite high.
