One morning I was driving to work when all of a sudden my truck started to overheat. I was trying to head back home before anything bad happened to my motor but couldn't make it as it started to overheat really bad. I pulled over and called a friend who referred me to Sammy's Towing and Service. I called and right away Sam answered me, he asked for location and without question came to me. He checked the vehicle to see if there was a possible temporary solution. Unlike others that just see easy money. He was friendly and helpful. When you're in need of a tow service any old company might be as good as the next…read more True. Or at least I'd have accepted that line before yesterday. After completing a small security system install yesterday I was racing off to my next item to check off the list when I hear an all too familiar whhoonph whoomph sound. Flat tire. Called this place and in not terribly long a wait a call rings my phone and it's the dude, and he's a quarter mile away. Friendly and polite. I tell him my intended plan and 20 minutes later off we go. I attempt upon offloading my Odyssey to use a fixaflat canned goop repair, with only optimistic expectations. That stuff works fun for nails or screw punctures, but along a sidewall you can get lucky. So in goes the goop And Jesse, the driver, tips mile tires air off and I raced off to give the wheel a spin to hopefully work the magic, and after a mile west and a return mile back, I return to where I left him and say it seems ok. Off I go, but opt to take another route, one where I won't catch extended traffic lights etc. but after only about two miles the TPMS (tire pressure monitor system) lights up I realize I'm on borrowed time. Quick call to Liberty and tell (Tony) that I am the one who Jesse just went to tow etc. ask him if he can possibly call and have the truck sent to XYZ a mile or so west. NP. 8 minutes later the truck arrives and thankfully he's a nice guy not just looking to double his payday. (Thankfully I tipped him a 20, 10 minutes earlier! I should've, at this minute simply said tow me to Broadway Tire, but I still had hopes to salvage my tire (all four are like new, maybe only 5k use on them.) so top it off again and head to the freeway with knowledge that I'm still 2 hours ahead of rush hour. I make it 15 miles to home before the light illuminates again. Tire wasn't salvageable but the tow service was very reasonable when I considered my options. Had I thought to just drop off as I stated at the tire place at least I'd be rolling tonight. But I still got tff he e tire repair done, but had to take the tire by itself and wasn't able to retrieve it before they closed for the weekend today. That's probably the next place I'll be writing about come Monday.
