David came an diagnosed the problem and they quoted me $2k to do some caulking, which is a rip off but If it solved the problem I was ok with it. The issue was not solved, water still came into the office. They sent David again, and he diagnosed a different problem this time, and now they want to me to another $2.5k to do more caulking with "no guarantee" that it will fix the problem. The previous $2k were wasted. Whatever you do, do not use these guys.

Sambor has deceived, TRESPASSED and wrongfully diagnosed the cause of problem…read more I wasn't sure if the water stains around my Velux skylight was from condensation or due to a leak so I called Sambor as they are the ones that last shingled the roof (hired by the previous homeowners). Sambor's "senior" estimator determined it was leaking, and he stated multiple times that it was leaking due to poor installation of the shingles and exposed flashing. and said it should be covered under warranty. After he spoke with the owner and "customer service" manager, I was told they couldn't find any evidence of the work being completed by them, despite me giving them the receipt with the previous owner's name, and Sambor owner's signature saying it was paid in full. When they finally acknowledge they did do the work, they then claimed the skylight was installed after the roof, and not by them. They also told me the warranty was with the previous owner, not me and quoted me $800 plus the cost of flashing to fix it. After illegally trespassing, they offered to do it for half the price- to do me a "favour", and when I accepted - never heard from them again. I brought in 2 other roofers who quoted half this price however, I didn't realize I should have consulted with a certified Velux installer. When I brought one in, he was quickly able to confirm that the skylight was NOT leaking, it was condensation. That so called exposed flashing, is the saddle flashing, which is meat to be exposed with this Velux skylight He also explained that Velux doesn't sell to those who have not have received training from them. So there was actually no problem. Just as important, all 3 contractors confirmed that there's no way the skylight was installed after, which is what Sambor has claiming this whole time. A simple non-issue that should have taken less than 5 mins to figure out, turned it into 6-week long fiasco due to sheer incompetence on Sambor's part. They came to my house 4 times to "diagnose" this (always late and unprepared e.g. didn't have a ladder)- one of those times they ILLEGALLY TRESPASSED -went on my roof while I wasn't home without my permission or knowledge to take pictures to try to prove the skylight was installed after, which they still could not (this happened AFTER I hung up on them because they were rude and hostile - yelling at me), and then were dishonest about it -nor did they give me the pictures with date despite asking for them several times. Truly appalling behaviour. Use them at your risk.

Eavestroughs full of nails, and get this, cigarette butts! Dip was supposed to be corrected in roof line. They pried the rafters up with 2 X 4's and put plywood on. The dip is not as deep as before but it is bigger. They came back 6 times to 'fix' what they did not do, or did not do correctly. They did manage to charge us exactly what they said they would, though. The accounting department seems to work.

I called Hy-Grade in the spring to get them repaired and was told I was added to the 'list'. Never heard from them since, It's now late November so I called them to see when they were coming. Before anyone answered I was asked to leave a message and specifically told that they do not warranty any damage caused by snow or ice! Obviously they have has quite a few calls about damage or they wouldn't tell you that snow and ice damage is not covered before anyone even talks to you. Isn't a roof supposed to prevent damage from the elements? After spending so much money to have their roof installed, they now won't come to fix this problem? It looks terrible with the barriers hanging off over my entrance way.I will never recommend them to anybody, quite the opposite i would tell what happened and come take a look. Terrible product for the expensive price you pay.
