We had our roof replaced in the fall of 2021 by Joostens. In the process they also did a slight redesign on our entry way given the original roof configuration resulted in poor runoff into the gutters. Lastly they also replaced our skylight. So the good thing with Joostens was price and customer service. They were timely in their scheduled appointments and also during installation the crew was diligent in getting the job done. Cleanup was pretty good with only the odd nail found later in the gardens. All in all I am happy with the roof and if it were just that I would give them 5 stars. So why only 3 stars? First off when they were reengineering the roofline around the entry way, in discussions with them I received a comment to the effect they are roofers, not builders. Well if that's the case, maybe they should advise the customer to hire a contractor to make changes rather than take it upon themselves. With regards to the roof, when the job was complete and I stood back at the road to view it, I instantly noticed a section of shingles that did not line up. I called Joostens out and they agreed and the next day it was corrected so that is fine. Why am I writing this now 1-1/2 years after the fact? Sadly it's due to an ongoing issue with our skylight. From the time the skylight was replaced, the majority of time when we get heavy winds, such as now, we get severe wind noise coming from the skylight where with the original one there was none. They have been out I believe 3 times after installation, never once when I have been home. They have switched it end for end, replaced it, and the third time I'm not certain. But according to my wife the last time they were out the guy was not pleasant complaining there was glue or adhesive remaining from the prior installation. And who's fault is that? So if you just want a straight roof replacement I would definitely recommend them. However if you have skylights I would be awfully skeptical. read more

Had Joostens re-roof our new-to-us home last summer upon relocating to Bellingham. Bid was competitive, work was quick and done well. Communication was stellar throughout the process from receiving the bid, questions during the job, and even after the job was done. Yesterday, nearly one year after the re-roofing job, due to a strong storm with winds, we had a slow leak coming from our chimney. I emailed Joostens immediately around 7 am, inquiring about their 5-year workmanship warranty, providing a copy of the invoice from 2019. Without another word and by 8 am, Marcos showed up, being nothing but professional and friendly, immediately climbing up to the roof in the rain. He not only inspected the chimney, but the rest of the roof too! He fixed the leak quickly, explained what happened and how he fixed it, cleaned up everything, greeted my younger daughter, and was just generally awesome and most helpful. I am still in awe of the customer service and quality work done by Joostens. I emailed them letting them know of my great satisfaction, promising to leave this review. In this day and age, it is so refreshing to receive such stellar customer service all the way around. If you need any roofing needs, I would HIGHLY recommend Joostens. After obtaining bids from other contractors, I found Joostens to be very professional, friendly and extremely timely. They were the quickest to respond; the rate was a BIT more than others but still very reasonable. It was well worth it because the roofers were in with materials one day and finished roofing the next. They cleaned up better than what it looked like in the first place and the roof is beautiful. We'll see how it fares in the October/November winds and through winter. There is a 5 year warranty so I'm not too concerned. Thanks Joostens! Highly recommended! read more

We have a five year old roof Joosten's put on that is going to need a replacement..again. When they put the original roof on we immediately had problems w some vents blowing cold air and others leaking. They came out several times to "patch/fix" the issues. The last few we're done so begrudgingly. We had a five year warranty with them and soon needed them again. We reported that something was wrong w the roof causing the deck roof to leak they came out after avoiding us for almost two months and insisted it was not the roof they put on. A month later my son almost went through that portion of roof while cleaning the gutters. Joosten's ignored us for a few months more during this time. At this point our roof was only a few years old. They came out very curtly took a look and called my husband and told him angrily "You should be grateful, your getting a new f*cking roof!!!" That ended up being half a roof and we have now realized that they didn't replace all of the sheeting, instead throwing the shingles over some of the old and calling it a day. In doing so, our entire roof needs to be replaced just as that warranty is over and now that inclement weather has set in. The vent one of the owners had his father come into our home and replace should never have been installed in that space we have since found out. The back deck and back doorway are now in need of rot repair due to their crew not putting the flashing back in w the roof which is the same issue the owners looked at and insisted had nothing to do w them. Gosh..there is so much more. I'll just stop right here. We don't know what we are going to do. They have all but ruined our home. It's do late in the season to get help and then there is the expense.
