I scheduled a cleaning appointment and confirmed it via text for 1:00 PM. I arrived at the office…read moreat 12:50 PM to check in, only to be informed that my appointment wasn't confirmed and that I would need to reschedule. I showed the staff the confirmation text indicating that I had replied "Yes" to confirm my appointment for 1:00 PM with a response back from the office stating "Thank you for confirming your appt!". They apologized and said they misspoke before, that I did actually confirm my appointment but there was no availability for that time, which suggests my slot was double-booked. I even showed up 10 minutes early, yet I wasn't allowed to keep the appointment I confirmed. This experience felt very unprofessional. My work schedule is very demanding, and I expect to keep the appointments I confirm to avoid wasting my limited time. Makes me reconsider even rescheduling with this office, thinking this could happen again.

She charged…read moreme because she wrote a script out for BP med I have been on for 10 years ( I could have had CVS call it in) , we discussed my A1C from my yearly blood work, and because she told me that my Stye could take two weeks to get over (never touched or looked at my Stye). I had made a six month follow up appointment but canceled it due to changing doctors. Dr McGill refused to fill my BP meds until I called to find out why. She allowed me to do without my meds because she wanted me to come in for an appointment. The ethical thing to do would have been to fill for a week then have her nurse call and tell me I needed an appointment. Instead she allowed me to run out of meds that have worked for 10 years. What about her oath to do no harm?

TERRIBLE BILLING PRACTICES!!!!…read more One of the first bills I received was shockingly high (It was the first bill we received after 7-8 months of services). I went through the line items and found that they billed me for a service that my son was not receiving. I reached out to the billing department and they acknowledged that there was a billing error and corrected the bill. We switched providers because they were unable to provide services at my son's school. Several months after discontinuing services we received a bill from them for several random dates of service from the past. We expressed our frustration with the delayed bill in September and thought that our account was settled then. To our astonishment, we just received another bill for services rendered 11 MONTHS AGO! My household receives bills from dozens of different providers. These bills arrive within ~30 days of services rendered with the only exception being Raleigh Therapy Services. When billing is delayed by so long it makes it difficult for personal accounting and creates stress and anxiety because amongst several recent medical bills, it is an unexpected expense. I had to spend the entire day yesterday combing through records from RTS and my insurance company to try to understand why I was receiving a claim 11 months after services were rendered and to try to understand if I would be receiving any future bills (which there are still 2 more claims that haven't been processed). I have worked as a health care provider billing insurance for medical services as well as my current position at a medical software billing company. I understand that insurance issues can be very frustrating and sometimes take several phone calls to resolve. The provider we switched to, K&M Therapeutics, billed for the same service (plus a new one) and we received bills monthly starting 30 days from service and they were billing the same insurance companies. It seems like they need to hire an adjudication claims specialist to have someone dedicated to trouble shooting these issues so that they can be resolved in a timely manner. My son really liked the therapists at RTS..... this is just a billing inefficiency issue leading to a poor customer experience. I believe it can be fixed if they want to put the effort into trying to.

Our son has worked with two therapists at Raleigh Therapy Services - one for speech and one for…read morewriting. Both of his therapists are wonderful. The therapists meet him at his school during regular school hours, which saves us a lot of hassle and time. Our son loves seeing his therapists. He has had such a positive experience. The improvement in his speech is remarkable, and he has gone from hating holding any writing instrument to drawing, coloring, and practicing letters and numbers. Amazing! We are so grateful for all Raleigh Therapy Services has done for our son.

But at first I was put off and a bit nervous about having chosen this medical office. The decor of the office is outdated and just made me feel like I was about to receive outdated healthcare. The registration forms almost made me runaway. I work in implementation of electronic health records for a living, so the fact that they are fully on paper record made me cringe. One of the forms to sign states that there is $25 fee if you would like a copy of your medical records. In an era where online patient information portals exist for access to medical records, I found this to be very inconvenient and a little wrong. This is the point where I almost ran, but didn't because I had a cold and not a lot if time to find another doctor and schedule another appointment. The wait time was not too bad, probably among the best I've experienced. Once I was in the exam room, I was happy that I didn't leave. The nurse was very pleasant and took my vitals quickly. My provider, their PA Kim, was great. I really appreciated that she took the time to really listen to all of my concerns and addressed them all. A lot of providers don't take the time to that. She also presented me with options, gave me information and let me decide. I really value shared and informed medical decision making. The woes of paper records got back to me when they referred me to labs and x-rays and I had to provide them with all my information again in each of the facilities, plus they spelled my name wrong on the referral. At the end of the day, what really matters is patient care and I felt good about the care, so that is what weighed most in my rating. Pros: -Easy to schedule an appointment for the same week -Short wait time -Caring and friendly health care Cons: -Paper medical records and all their negative implications in this day and age
