When I first started looking for a company to work with, I messaged several different photographers and Carmen was the only person I felt at ease collaborating with. Not only did she reply very quickly, her responses were positive & supportive. I was honestly what one would call a complex client as I was unsure of what I really wanted but that is why Carmen is so great! She helped me execute my vision given my directions were quite vague. When time came for the shoot, Carmen led me throughout the session making it effortless! After an hour session we were able to get many shots AND an outfit change in all the while I was sluggish barely being able to move around much at 38 weeks pregnant! The shoot was a success and after a week Carmen and Ryan emailed me the results. I was very happy with the outcome but requested a couple edits and sure enough they made it happen! I was going through my first pregnancy and I was overwhelmed with all the stress and insecurities that come with pregnancy, however Reaction Photography captured my maternity shots seamlessly! I had found Carmen on Yelp (I'm a big Yelper who listens to reviews) and when I spoke with her on the phone I knew I had found the right person. We were a group of 29 family members, ranging in age from 3 -85 years old . We had 3 sets of families and we needed numerous pictures taken at Gallagher Park. Carmen arrived on time and ready to go. She was professional and truly got every photo we needed. She was calm and helpful and knew exactly what to do. Due to my concern about the weather Carmen was flexible throughout, and was happy to continue taking photos at an inside venue if needed (thankfully the weather was fine and we were able to take all the photos outside). I live in Chicago, but planned a wedding in Omaha, Nebraska. From our initial phone conversation, I felt immediately relaxed. Royce joked with me and let me ask as many questions as I wanted without making me feel like I was being a crazy bride. She also followed up with emails as the wedding got closer. Two-three weeks before the wedding, I was in town and asked if Royce would mind if I stopped to by to actually meet her in person. Even though it was last minute on a Saturday and she had a wedding to photograph that afternoon, she still carved out time in her day to meet with me and my fiance. The Big Day finally came and looking back, I can't imagine having any other photographer next to my side the entire day. We booked the "all day package" and it was totally worth it. Royce showed up at the hair salon before we did and immediately settled in with me and my bridesmaids. She is so incredibly laid back and wonderful- she fit right in to our little group and by the end of the night, I actually was sad she she had to leave! The next morning, my sister and I joked that we wanted to be her friend in real life. She was that cool. We just got our photos back (almost 900 photos in a two week turnaround!) and they are AMAZING! I posted a couple here so you could see her work. Royce is such an amazing photographer and I cannot imagine having a better experience with any other photographer (I know I already said that but it's something worth repeating). She made me and my fiance feel like we were the most important people- there was none of that superior feeling I felt with other photographers. Your wedding day is one of the most special and intimate days of your life- be sure to pick a photographer who not only recognizes that but highlights it! Last note: Royce's prices are unbelievably low. In a couple of years, I wouldn't doubt that people are paying twice what I did to have her book their weddings! Get her while you can!

Not only are Royce's photos fantastic, she's a professional who is super-fun to work with…read more As I was shopping around for a wedding photographer, I wanted someone who produced a good product, but who also jibed with my fiance and my fun-loving and goofy approach. Voila, there was Royce. She has a way of making everybody feel comfortable as she's shooting. It's very clear that she's a people person who loves her job. I think my fiance and I were laughing throughout the duration of our engagement session. When it came time for the wedding photos, we (along with our families) were at ease throughout photo after photo because she made it fun. As with any event vendor, communication response time is important. Royce was very responsive when I emailed, and I never felt worried about the status of our plans (nothing's worse than emailing a vendor who takes several days to respond, or who you repeatedly have to chase after). A+ for professionalism and communication. I'm very pleased with the photos we received! Nearly 900 total, also in about two week's turn-around time. Granted I had a winter wedding, but still... I should also add, as the other reviewer did, that her prices are exceptionally reasonable, especially given her talent. Can't stress how much we enjoyed working with her. She was communicative, professional -- important especially during COVID-19, and an excellent photographer. She arrived on time, ensured she got pictures of all the groups we wanted (there were 9 of us all together), patiently waited to get smiles out of the four kids under age 5, worked efficiently (the whole thing was done in about an hour), and took amazing pictures.
