For teachers, I would say most of them are really hard working and truly care for their students. But of course, there are still professors who are always absent and let's you study on your own. It's alright, we're in college! As for the facilities, computer laboratory is working fine. There's a library where you can study quietly, or just a place where you can spend your time. There's also an auditorium where most of the events are held. It has it's own church, and wide field. My only concern about the facilities are the restrooms, canteens, and some student lounge. Since there's a lot of student in PUP, restrooms are definitely used a lot more often and there's only few janitors to clean them. So as expected, restrooms are very dirty and smelly. And since the rooms are open, those rooms who are beside the restrooms have to endure all the smell coming from it. Last but not the least, we shouldn't forget the house of mabini located inside of the campus. It was a good sight but unfortunately I haven't seen inside of it. I would love to see it before I graduate though.

The PUP Campus in Sta Mesa is actually one of the most gorgeous campuses in Metro Manila. As somebody who went to UP for college and kinda hung around Ateneo during that span of time, that's saying a lot. But it's true! Just look at my pics! The campus is freaking gorgeous. The fact that this beauty is lost even to its own students kinda rankles me, but what can you do? PUP is also the current location of the Mabini Shrine, which was the ancestral home of Apolinario Mabini. PUP is also the only campus that has its own PNR and Ferry stations. Lucky bastards.

My two brothers graduated Elementary and High School here and I remember seeing them in campus before which was cool. Italian priests handle Don Bosco and I remember seeing them around campus and they would just come up to us while playing and chat with us. What I loved about this school was it had around 10 cafeterias all over the campus. The best part too also since Italian priests handled what food needs to be served; they also put up a Gelato shop inside. I remember vividly coming inside the Gelato shop and there were just canisters of ice cream powders in all flavors. The education system here is also top-notch and their extra curricular activities even include electrical or mechanical programs for the students.

There's no other reason or nobody else to blame for this scenario. While I'm so thrilled that I graduated from Ateneo, that's not to discredit UA&P in any way. It just wasn't for me. I had some good times here. It's small and compact so much so that you can tour the entire campus in a matter of an hour or two. The cafeteria is decent and the classes are engaging enough. The highlight of my time here was being a part of the track team. Good choice if you're on the lookout for a smaller campus.

I guess the only time I've been here was when I was…read morehelping a friend's brother submit the requirements to get in a program--a program that never in billion years I would've thought to exist in this university (no offense). It is...none other than...*drum roll* BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN ASTRONOMY! Seriously, I would expect this major, let alone an entire department to open first in University of the Philippines (where the PAGASA observatory is--cool place beeteedubs, check it out), or Ateneo (where another observatory is) or a La Salle in the farthest reaches of the country just because they can afford it (man, me and my sibs' tuition fees probably totalled in the millions! And we're just three students!) But for it to open FIRST in a university one bus ride and jeepney away from me? Time really froze for a moment there. If there is a rewind time button, can I just try for this major, please? RTU has definitely upped Philippines' astronomy game by so much through producing graduates holding the degree from this new major. I am seriously excited for the generation who will be getting in this program. Who knows, maybe in a decade (or less), we will have a separate nationwide recognized agency focusing in aerospace technology and space exploration, like JAXA (Japan), ESA (Europe), ROSCOSMOS (Russia), and of course (more obviously) NASA! And Filipinos will not only dominate the white collar and blue collar industries in the world. They will also dominate the bluejumpsuit agencies as well! (See what I did there?) Now that we're in the subject of astronomy, did I mention that the University also offers post-graduates studies and a masteral degree of Astronomy too? I am just...holding out a squee here!

With significantly less than 500 students in the campus, Kalayaan College evokes a sense of…read moreintimacy between its fellow students, faculty and staff. Once notorious for college drop-outs, KC has revamped its style and has become more active in the field of Journalism, Arts, Political Science, HRM and even Business Management. As the heads of the school continue to update its curriculum with modern styles of teaching and its faculty with younger, less jaded professors, the school is gaining momentum as a hip "boutique" college where the feeling of belonging to a community is more present than in other bigwig universities. The school is also more open to students including those with special needs and integrating them in the traditional class set-up as so not to ostracize. They are also more open to tattoos, long hair and dreads, young mothers and returning students no matter what age (I've had classmates of over 40 and 50 years old and nobody seemed to mind). One star less because of the unreliable wi-fi.

If I hadn't gone to Poveda, I wouldn't have met the best girlfriends in the world -- whom I still consider my main crew 11 years after graduation. It's insane. Poveda also taught me the importance of hard work and discipline. I had to work my butt off just to make it to graduation and there was no weasling or paying my way out of it. It benefited me in the end. My alma mater also offers a good balance of extracurricular activities and academics.
