She lived in shared housing with 5-6 other girls. Each had their own small bedroom and bathroom with a shared kitchen. The campus is pretty, and easy to get to from the student housing. Also, much nightlife is a short grab ride away. The classes and instructors were good however there were many times class was cancelled, often due to weather (rain storm) and sometimes for no apparent reason. She, like most students on a study abroad, was able to schedule her classes all Monday-Wednesday to allow for more days to travel. And travel she did. Pretty much every weekend. Cheap flights, cheap food, and hostels. She had a great experience studying and traveling all over the Philippines and Southeast Asia when not in class.

Ateneo was my #1 choice because majority of my father's side of the family studied there (who had…read morenothing but great things to say about their college life) and most importantly - it was only Ateneo that offered the course that I wanted to pursue at the time. The campus feels like you are not in the city because you are surrounded by trees and an abundance of plants. Safety of students and staff is top priority; there are CCTV cameras present in buildings and security guards who always roam around to stop suspicious looking individuals from remaining inside the campus. The facilities within the campus are well-maintained and top-notch. There are several areas that are conducive for learning as well as releasing stress, studying and interacting such as the Rizal library and Matteo Ricci Hall. The number one thing I enjoyed the most about Ateneo is the people. Not only was I able meet a wonderful circle of well-rounded individuals, but I gained long-lasting connections and friendships that have helped me become the person I am today. If you are a graduate from ADMU, more often than not, your aim is to be part of the biggest companies in the country or to run and own your own business. With the ADMU education and culture, graduates are able to establish a strong network of promising individuals who end up in different industries and careers, but are of great help to each other throughout. Lastly, I spent the happiest years of my life in Ateneo de Manila University. Every now and then, I am able to go back to campus. Each visit feels like... I am home. :)

PROS: I love their library because it's one of the places in UP that's air conditioned. The books themselves are good literature too, of course. But I'm really there for the air conditioning; Compared to the rest of the University's old buildings, CAL's is fairly new and you can see it in their modern architecture and design; The best thing about a college of writers and poets is the graffiti and posters on the bulletin boards; It's right next to the Faculty Center (FC) so you could easily consult with most GE professors. It's also usually a venue for art installations and galleries. CONS: It's right beside Katag, the canteen at the basement of FC. But you could find it pretty crowded during lunch hours and it can get pretty hot and stuffy inside. TL;DR: Get your artsy fix just by being in CAL, whether that be for a class or just general tambay.

It's located in the heart of Makati, a stone's throw away from the Peninsula and one flyover away from BGC. I have a friend that teaches here and the other day she made me sit-in on one of her classes. All her students were made up of men and women who looked like they carefully curated their outfits right before class. I was in jeans and a plain shirt so you can imagine just how much I stuck out. In that relatively short time I learned a few things about fabric and pattern-making and for awhile there I had fantasies of changing careers and going into fashion. (for a whopping 5 minutes)

However, all those other places pale in comparison to the Law Library. Every other place is, at least in comparison, either too noisy, has really weak WiFi, or requires you to make some sort of purchase so you don't look like some sort of mooching cheapstake who's just there to sap off of the WiFi. There was one time that I went here on a Saturday, since I needed to work on a paper. It required a lot of file downloads. Not only was I able to download all of the research resources needed, but I actually managed to download a heck of a lot of albums while I was here. The WiFi here is fast. And it is also brutally quiet here. It's the perfect place to concentrate. If you manage to stay quiet, you can literally hear your own breathing in that library. And a fun little trick is that you can actually print your documents through this place. For 3 pesos a page. (Well, not cheap, but it's convenient.) Just ask the librarian at the counter how.

There's no other reason or nobody else to blame for this scenario. While I'm so thrilled that I graduated from Ateneo, that's not to discredit UA&P in any way. It just wasn't for me. I had some good times here. It's small and compact so much so that you can tour the entire campus in a matter of an hour or two. The cafeteria is decent and the classes are engaging enough. The highlight of my time here was being a part of the track team. Good choice if you're on the lookout for a smaller campus.

It's taken up nearly the entire MVP Basement, and is filled with office and school supplies to keep your schooling needs complete. Other than that, LS Bookstore also offers some Atenean clothing apparel, which makes it a point of interest for fans of UAAP Ateneo teams or just the Ateneo in general. My dad who graduated in the 90s hounds me to buy him the latest hoodies and polo shirts. Other than that, they offer printing services cheaper than those in the Rizal Lib, and they even offer bookbinding services. The iCampus store is an official reseller of Apple products, and they even give an okay discount to students. Surprisingly, the LS Bookstore is also a good place to hang out or do a paper - it's usually quiet, it's fully air conditioned, and there aren't a lot of contenders for the wifi connection in the area.

Loyola Schools Bookstore also has a SMART Communications Center for anyone looking for a new smart phone plan. They also have an Intermatrix branch stationed inside for printing and photocopying services. For all the book-lovers out there, this place also has a collection of the newest and most popular books. They have autobiographies of famous people like One Direction, romantic novels by The New York Times bestselling author John Green, and classical novels that you can read over and over again. In case you're not interested in buying anything, you can just chill and relax with your friends in the couches placed there (HOORAY FOR AIR CONDITIONED PLACES IN ATENEO).

It's my alma matter too, so shout-out to everyone who always had to walk by the urine-smelling back side of this gargantuan mall just to get to our gates. We all know how it feels, even the trike drivers. PROS: It's a science high school, so there's an extra focus on the math, science, and technology curriculum. If your kid's strengths lean on these particular fields, and you'd like free tuition (plus the P500.00 or so plus in fees) for the next few years, then give Kisay a try; Academics are given serious focus on this school. Unlike the regular curriculum, students need to maintain an average of 85 on all subjects to stay in Kisay, so you know everyone focuses on their studies. Plus, a myriad of extra-curricular activities help develop well-roundedness and leadership skills. CONS: There's an entrance exam that a prospective Xientian (Yup. That's what we call ourselves.) has to pass in order to gain a slot in this school. And that competition is fierce. We're talking about kids who took Pisay exams too, plus the now-majority of students coming from big, rich schools who are backed up with every tutorial and review center their young 12-year-old minds can take. Talk about "needy" and "underprivileged;" Being a government-run school, the issues of administrative corruption and faulty facilities are predominant, even for a science high school. TL;DR: In the end, it's still a public school. But with the help of PTA and alumni donations, and a sincerely eager learning atmosphere from the faculty and students, Kisay still somehow fares well.

I may have since discontinued my law studies for personal reasons, but I will always look back with fondness for my time spent here. Admittedly, San Sebastian's College of Law is not one of the top choices of law schools here in the country. But having come from the No. 1 or No. 2 law school (depending on which side of the fence you're standing on) before I enrolled here, believe me when I say there are some things they do better. For me, chief among this is the small class size. Whereas I used to be part of a class of 45-50 students, at San Sebastian, each class only had around 30 or less students. Our classrooms were less cramped, our professors did not exert too much energy managing so many students, and we had several turns when it comes to recitation (giving us several chances to do better in case we flunked our first try). We did not have a shortage of stellar professors, too! Finally, the tuition fees here are much more affordable, which is one of the reasons I transferred. Scholarships were also available. Quality law education at a good price? It's possible here.
