My mother's glasses broke 3 days after we arrived in Australia for three weeks and just a couple of days before we were set to leave for New Zealand.
The broken hinge wasn't able to be fixed and the other optical shops couldn't make a pair of glasses quickly or find suitable replacement frames that would fit her older style of lenses.
I found this shop on Google and took a chance. One of the owners - Shahe Nazarian - greeted us and took care of us in the most professional manner. My mother is 75, anxious, particular, and is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's. Shahe was so patient and kind and reassuring. She took her time finding us a selection of frames that would fit the shape of my mother's lenses. She always worked with a smile even when my mother repeated her worried questions or when she had trouble communicating clearly.
Her husband, Joseph Nazarian took care of placing the lenses into new frames and fitting them to my mother's face. I was so worried that my mother wouldn't be able to see properly for the rest of our trip. Her condition makes her very resistant to change and at first she was reluctant to embrace these new glasses, but I think it will all work out and I truly appreciate the kindness of everyone at this shop. They made a difficult situation a success. read more
