Living in St Paul for sometime, I was familiar with the Odd Couple Team and appreciated all of the…read morecommunity involvement that their team embodies. When I decided to make the move to purchase my own place, I knew that I wanted to work with them. I was matched with Austen Kordosky from their team and he was eager to help me get started. Austen was super friendly, very flexible and always kept my "Must Haves" in mind when showing me properties. He also didn't push back when I sent him listings that I wanted to check out, despite them not being a best fit for me; he allowed me to go through the process and grow through the process. Mid-way through my search I pivoted from wanting a condo to exploring a single family home and Austen eagerly pivoted with me showing me three properties the following morning. He was great about reaching out to me with a regular cadence and suggesting properties for me to tour. One property in particular was one where he was representing the seller and it was not yet on the market officially. When I walked in I was super impressed with the beautiful light of the south facing windows, the gorgeous hardwood floors and 100-year-old woodwork. Despite touring several houses after that, I kept thinking back to the property that would eventually become mine. By having a sneak peak into a pre-listing I was able to take more time with my choice to purchase and avoided the craziness of the spring real estate market. This was something that had plagued me on several prior offer submissions. Had I not been working with Austen I would have never found this gem. The whole Odd Couple Team in general was awesome to work with. The co-owner of the team called me when I started working with Austen and after I purchased my home to congratulate me. Additionally, I received a fun welcome gift from them at my closing that was an awesome surprise! That type of all star service is why you should work with their team. They take great pride in the work that they do and I am so grateful! Thanks Austen and team!

These guys deliver and go above and beyond the typical level of customer service. We ended up feeling like family. Such a great feeling to know we were with people that would get the job done. How often have you heard these statements: "Buying our home was a delightful experience. I would…read moredo it again in a heartbeat! Our realtor was the best!" Um, probably never. Home buying/selling consistently rates as one of the most stressful experiences in a lifetime behind #1 losing a loved one and #2 being diagnosed with a terrible disease. Well, I am not sure exactly where it falls on the top 10 of most stressful experiences, but it is certainly up there. And I am convinced this is due to the lack of Rachel Schaden's in the world, because if there were more Rachels around, home buying/selling would be a delight. Or at least as delightful as the banks would allow it to be. :) Rachel is a gem, pure and simple. She was our realtor in Portland when we recently bought a house in SW. I moved a lot growing up, so I already had a lot of experiences with realtors (read: mostly bad experiences). My husband and I continued the moving tradition recently, and Rachel was the one bright spot in the whole mess of selling our old home and buying our new one. And when I say mess, I do mean an all caps M-E-S-S. The realtor selling our home (NOT Rachel) could have taken notes from Rachel (I wish she had!)...no follow through, no professionalism, flaking out at inappropriate moments. (!) But despite the unevenness of the professionals that we paid to sit around while my poor husband and I were forced to do their jobs for them, Rachel was the one person who we knew we could count on. We knew if there was a deadline, she would be all over it. Not on vacation. Not pawning it off on her assistant. Not out to lunch on the inspection report, buyers addendum, or counteroffer documents. Our poor buyers were made to wait (and stress!) about the outcome, while we waited and stressed, and the sellers in Portland that we were trying to buy from waited and stressed. Lots of waiting and stressing. I wish Rachel had been our realtor for the whole process. It would have eliminated a lot of waiting and stressing. Rachel was the one person who followed through exactly as she promised she would. I am convinced we never would have gotten our current home without her professionalism and attention to detail. She went above and beyond in every respect, even helping the realtor selling our house (!) manage that aspect of the deal. She never once dropped the ball during the entire process of trying to buy our house in Portland (and we had a pretty convoluted journey). And she ALWAYS did what she said she would do. Even the sellers of our current home were impressed with her (and they had their own agent!). I am sure when word gets out about how good Rachel is, she will be inundated with clients, and she certainly deserves the recognition. She is uncommonly good at her job. Probably because she actually cares about her clients. I don't get that feeling from most realtors, but I felt it the minute I met Rachel. I regard Rachel as a friend, and I would recommend her in a heartbeat to anyone looking for a reliable realtor (believe me, this is NOT an oxymoron). Based on my experiences I believe Rachel is a diamond among a lot of carbon copies out there. She is the real deal and deserves to be celebrated for her impeccable level of professionalism, kindness, concern, and service. Buying/selling homes will probably always be stressful to some degree. However, if everyone were as committed, professional, trustworthy, and reliable as Rachel, I think people would have fewer horror stories about the misadventures they had on the sale/purchase of their home and more stories about how streamlined and easy the process was because they had a Rachel in their corner.

But I never seemed to have the time or energy to replace it myself--I was paralyzed by the idea of wanting to change so much but not having any idea how to make it all work together. Jen put me at ease right away when she walked into my house. She has such a positive and thoughtful vibe...she is totally in tune with her clients' thoughts and feelings. She began by having me collect images of decor that I like--not specific pieces (that would have overwhelmed me) but images to give her a sense of what I wanted my new livingroom to be like. We then decided on a key piece-- a beautiful rug that she found on sale-- and built the rest of the decor from there. She has a great eye for style and is attentive to budget; she is excellent at presenting options of various costs and explaining what you get for each level of spending. She's so good that she transformed what was once a paralyzing situation into a fun experience! And the entire family loves our new livingroom. It is comfortable, practical, and beautiful at the same time! So totally worth it. During the time Jen was working with me, she happened to be remodeling and refreshing a home in my neighborhood, preparing it to sell. I stopped by to check it out. Amazing. She took a challenging and needy space and made it shine, move-in ready. I was super impressed with how fast she did such high quality work. That home sold quickly for a price that made her client very happy. Very rare is Jen's combination of attention to detail, huge people skills, strong financial sense, and style. I highly recommend her for selling, staging, organizing, or refreshing your home.

As first-time homebuyers, we knew literally nothing going into this. From the very start, Lindsay helped us through everything - and we owe everything we now know about homebuying to her. We were recommended to Lindsay by a coach of mine who bought a duplex and sold a condo through her, and were excited by her glowing testimonial. Lindsay met us at a coffee shop to talk through the homebuying process, answer our questions, and get to know us - what we are looking for in a home, and who we are as individuals. From then on, we trusted Lindsay wholeheartedly - she had a keen, observant eye at house showings and caught details that would have come up in inspections or been a pain later on. Lindsay was incredibly patient with us as we went through the typical first-timer process of so many listings and showings to figure out what we really wanted. We always looked forward to texting and meeting up at showings - we felt so comfortable chatting and working through things with her. During a tough buyer's market, Lindsay brought perspective and ideas to the table for ways we could make our offer stand out while staying in our budget. It was all because of her smart approach that we had an offer accepted! When our first accepted offer fell through during inspection, Lindsay was there to help us through the process and protect us. And when we fell in love with our *now* home, Lindsay was the key component to getting our offer accepted, negotiating an inspection AND more, and helping us through a quick close to the closing table successfully. We knew nothing coming into this process, and Lindsay made it an absolute breeze. She was always there for us - a text or phone chat away - with insight and helpful advice. I've been telling everyone that the ONLY sad part about now being homeowners is that we won't be talking to and seeing Lindsay on such a regular basis. If you want someone you can rely on, trust, learn from, and enjoy the homebuying process with - Lindsay is your gal!
