I could have sung the praises of Dr Brown through the years but I wanted to wait until I actually experienced his expertise in Total Knee Replacement surgery. I have needed knee replacement surgery for years but for a variety of reasons the timing was never right. Thirty years ago when I lived in California the problem the doctor identified was I was just TOO young to be a candidate for surgery. Twenty-five years ago after moving to the Louisville KY area I got started at a different orthopedic doctor's office and was told that other than knee injections there was no other option due to metal allergies that included titanium , cobalt and nickel. Injections in my knees were useless as the first day it increased the pain, the second and third day after were great, and then it was back to my original condition. Ten years ago a Physical Therapist I was being treated by mentioned Dr Brown as he had performed knee replacement surgery on the Therapist's mother. My first appointment with Dr Brown I was sold that I finally had found the correct professional. Upon arriving for my appointment a full set of x-rays on both knees were taken. Dr Brown needed no time in evaluating the x-rays and exclaimed I needed knee surgery for years. Yep, I knew that but thought I was going to lower the boom when I told him of my metal allergies. No, he had the answer. He exited the exam room and re-entered with an actual knee replacement kit (not even a sample but the actual surgical kit). Dr Brown explained that the joint would be made of Zirconium and the replacement bone could be made of polypropylene (layman's term = plastic). Great news! To proceed Dr Brown wanted additional allergy testing that was different than the standard patch testing. This allergy testing used blood to do a blood antigen test on everything that would be used during surgery such as specific cement, etc. While waiting for the results I promised Dr Brown I would work on losing some weight as it would be helpful in the overall surgery process. I also agreed to work on warm water physical therapy to be in the best condition possible for surgery and recovery. Based on my knee conditions Dr Brown wanted to replace the right knee first. Fast forward several years and my left knee was in HORRIBLE condition and I couldn't stand on the left knee/leg at all. Unfortunately that emergency appointment was with Dr Brown's APRN Craig. Oops, Craig found an additional problem and called Dr Brown in for a consult. No surgery could not happen. Dr Brown explained that with a pulse of 32 he couldn't do surgery. He instructed me to work with my Cardiologist to get a pace maker and then he would consider Knee Replacement Surgery. This review will not go into all the trials and tribulations of getting a pacemaker other than to say it took YEARS! In the meantime I made another appointment with Dr Brown because I thought I was having right hip problems. Dr Brown was so on top of things he immediately could say the problem is not your hip but appears to be a back problem. He ordered an MRI that confirmed exactly what he thought. From that information he said DO NOT CONSIDER BACK SURGERY but referred me to pain management. Finally back to June 2025. I had left Total Knee Replacement by Dr Brown. He requires all patients take a webinar class prior to surgery so you know exactly what to expect. In my final appointment with him prior to surgery he warned me I was in End Stage Osteoarthritis and that the surgery was not going to be a breeze. Together understanding the condition, the allergies, etc. he would do his best to avoid problems. I had total faith in him and experienced fantastic surgery and outcome. If you need an excellent orthopedic doctor for knee replacement or hip replacement Dr Brown is my recommendation!

He is an orthopedic doc and I'm pretty sure specializes in feet and knees. I have a bone spur on my heel and husband has an achey knee. He is a kind, knowledgeable surgeon who was not eagar to cut on either one of us, for which we are grateful. Offce staff were polite and efficient. We signed in, medical history taken, saw the doc, had an xray, saw doc to get results of xray and treatment plan all within 30 minutes.i highly recommend this surgeon who treated us with respect, has a sense of humor, lustened to our symptoms, provided a treatment plan and informed us of next steps if needed.

I tried multiple times over a week period, I did finally reach someone but the message I left was in vain (never returned). So I decided to go back to his original group (Louisville Bone and Joint0 where my call was received within 30 seconds of hold time. I have an appointment next week. If the physician is half as attentive as the support staff, I am in goods hands.

I think there are at least eight doctors that are in this practice with a variety of orthopedic specialties. Additionally there's an excellent group of x-ray technicians that very capably take your needed x-rays at the time of your doctor appointment. They are instantly ready to be viewed by your doctor. The patient alone is escorted in for x-rays and then returned to the waiting room for anyone that may be accompanying you to your doctor appointment. There are a variety of chairs in the waiting room including some tall seats to make all patients comfortable while waiting for your appointment. The front office staff are quite efficient and if you do the pre-registration on your cell phone prior to your appointment you will only have one page to sign. You may be caught off guard when you walk in and see so many patients waiting but don't panic. There is more than one doctor seeing them all and some are there just to get an injection that doesn't take much of the doctor's time. I can't exclaim enough with how happy I am with this practice and specifically with my physician Dr. Reid Brown. If you need a Knee Replacement, Hip Replacement or Pelvic surgery he is the one to see! Five stars all the way from start to finish when other doctor's did not think there was an option for my condition.

Assigned to Dr. Price, his nurse had an unfriendly personality even though I had preregistered online with all the info she was upset I didn't have my medicines list to verify what was in my registration. I said aw man, I forgot to grab the list, but I filled it out online. Well you don't have to get upset with me she said with a firm hostility, I'm not upset at all. Just concerned I won't remember my meds is all. They were in my file the whole time? Then Dr. Price bolted into the room briefly asked what was going on, cut me off while I was talking, told me he didn't see anything on the x-ray to match with the pain I was having. Most doctor's smoothly slowly exam range of motion during the leg exam, NO! He rapidly shoved my legs back as if to play with a young child. Extremely painful, but he had already made his mind up that I wasn't having any issue. I was wearing a skirt he didn't bother covering me up as he flailed my legs around in the air even thought I had asked for covering! I asked did he view the MRI imaging that my other specialist saw issues? Extremely arrogant, dismissive, and disrespectful. Really spoke down to me as if I were crazy and not in extreme pain. As he roughly shoved around on my back during his brief exam I explained I was having a spinal fusion surgery and disc removed in my lower neck, he scoffed as if I didn't need that either. Tried quickly telling him I had severe pain in lower back and possible fusion there as well, but he cut me off again so I wasn't allowed to explain that either. THREE TIMES he shoved where my other damaged disc was that's pinching on the nerves!!! I was gasping for air and instantly sobbing as he told me that's where my hip pain was coming from. AGAIN my spine specialist saw in the MRI and showed me where my hip bone was pushed over rubbing bone on bone in the socket. He left the room, I hobbled over to be sick from the pain HE INDUCED then took my next muscle relaxer. He comes in to see me picking up my leg then dropping it when I walk he cockily asked WHY ARE YOU WALKING LIKE THAT? You need to bend your knee, no wonder you are in pain, AS IF I'm causing this debilitating pain! Like it's my fault? Through my tears I try to explain it hurt moving the joint around, this has been the only way I have been able to survive throughout the day with the pain. He finally admits to seeing what the other two doctor's saw, didn't give me a treatment plan, my options, nothing! Offered a shot in my hip, I'm still trying to collect myself and in shock that a supposed top notch doctor couldn't be so condescending and pompous to his patients, but I now see he has 12 other poor online reviews over the years stating the same exact situation and character. Well done you want the treatment or not?! I really wanted to bolt out of there but my children need me back to some kind of working order and my other surgeries are approaching. He finally gives me a gown but hikes my skirt all the way up and my panties down vs just pulling both down a little bit from the top as I requested. He doesn't sterilize the area, slowly put the needle in but it was very painful. His nurse suited him as she was just as rude and abrupt as he was looking at me as if I were petty, I hear her from the hallway, all needles are uncomfortable. Didn't bother telling me what to expect from the injection, treatment plan ...nothing! DON'T PAY "THE PRICE" go anywhere else but here!

I had FAI but it was mostly asymptomatic but was starting to give me some problems. My hip joint…read morewas in good shape. I wanted Dr Carter to just remove the cam fai part and stay out of the hip but he said he needed to get into the joint. I asked him if there was a chance this could make my hip worse and he said no that the surgery should not make my hip worse. On the day of the surgery I told Dr Carter that my hip had been feeling well. After the surgery he told my girlfriend that I would need a hip replacement. Dr Carter did not see me after the surgery and I was not able to see him until about 3 months after the surgery. There was a problem with my appointment after the surgery. When I went to the office there was no one there who could take my stitches out so I removed the stitches myself. Dr Carter never told me that there was a chance the surgery could make my hip worse. He did say that results were not as good at my age but that's it. Also Dr Carter did not require me to get an arthogram of my hip. I only got a regular MRI. I have had about 4 surgeries on my other hip and all the surgeons saw me after surgery and then about 3 days later. And all previous surgeries required a hip arthogram. Also the other surgeries were all good results for my hip. I have more pain and disability with my hip now than before the surgery. This was my first surgery on this other hip. I made a very bad decision to get surgery from Dr Carter and wish I had not. Now I will need a hip replacement because of this surgery. I had no idea this was possible and am quite unhappy about it. I do not recommend Dr Carter.
