What a gem. I came here somewhat on a whim on a five-hour layover in Warsaw, and wow am I glad I…read moredid. First thing you notice is the ambiance; I was seated outside in their courtyard, which is a secluded oasis tucked away from the street. Service was friendly but relaxed. I started with a glass of wine and the herring nigiri appetizer. Prior to coming here, I was pretty unfamiliar with the cuisine of Poland and surrounds, so the herring was a fully new type of flavor for me. The presentation was beautiful, the type of dish inventive, and the flavors themselves delicious and well- balanced. My second dish, the cauliflower, was very creatively prepared and was also delicious, if unfortunately slightly on the saltier side. I ended with the scallop ceviche risotto. WOW. This is the BEST risotto I have ever had. It's hard to describe; the interplay between the flavors was unmatched - and all the ingredients were as fresh as can be. I still dream of this risotto to this day.

For a weeknight, they were packed! Also, the entrance is tucked away from the main street. Look for and follow the sign to lead you to the entrance. The first thing you see as you entered the restaurant is bottles and bottles of wine on the shelves. I really can't tell you the overall space because I felt like I went from one room to another, pass the kitchen, through another room and was seated in a small room with about 6 or 7 tables. It's almost like a maze. I can tell most of the patron are locals. Friends meeting after work for drinks and a quick bite to eat. I know I'm in the right place :-) The menu is small and seasonal with the intention to order/taste every dish because the portion is small too. We started off with Bulion, which is a broth soup with duck dumplings. It was delicious and savory. The ginger in the broth soup warmed my stomach. It was exactly what I needed for our first night in Warsaw. According to other yelpers, we have to order the beef tartare. I'm not big on raw beef but it tasted better than I expected. The beef tartare is served on top of potato pancake. The potato sort of mellow out the raw meat taste. Great presentation! Chicken Liver Parfait served on a buttermilk bread was probably my favorite dish. I know liver is not for the faint of heart, but when it's done right, it's chef kiss! Chicken liver is incredibly good for us and a nutrient-dense superfood packed with protein and vitamins. I wish I can see more dishes like this served in the states. Foie Gras sales and production is strictly restricted in most states. We just have to try it whenever we are in Europe. YOLO! It's rich and buttery and served on a even more buttery brioche. Very filling. Skrei was a fish dish that we should of skipped. It was served on a big pile of foam and herbs with very little fish (see pic.). It's something I expect at a high end 13 course tasting menu, not at a wine bar. We each had a glass of Badenhorst Family White Wine. It wasn't the best I had but it works for the occasion. Tips: Service is slow and that's just how the European roll. Be patience and enjoy the view and take in the moment that you're in Poland! They charge for water and 10% service charge.

First, the late evening visit for dinner was cool b/c it was not busy and I was seated outside. I love the garden /patio feel to the restaurant. Inside, if you prefer to sit, there is a large restaurant setup, very comfy with an open kitchen, visible to pretty much everyone in the restaurant on the first and second floor. The food was exceptional. It was my first night in Warsaw and wanted to experience a modern take on tPolish dishes. The cold beet soup, beet greens with a quail egg was super delicious. The schnitzel was excellent and it came with unforgettable mashed potatoes and a cold cucumber, yogurt and dill salad. I also tried red Polish wine, a Cabernet. And that too was also very good. Service was super attentive granted I came at 10 o'clock in the evening on a weeknight, and English was spoken fluently by everyone I dealt with. This is a converted factory space , it is in the middle of an island of businesses, so your Uber driver will pick you up about 200 feet to the left of the restaurant as you walk out. Definitely will come back, on my next visit to Warsaw. End of Yelp.

We Ubered to the restaurant to walk afterward around the revitalized Praga District. The other clientele looked like trendy office workers so the staff was moving quickly to service the lunch hour crowd. The server asked us if we wanted the regular menu or "the lunch menu". It was lunchtime so we asked for "the lunch menu". We expected the server to return with a menu with lunchtime options - but instead less than a minute later the borscht arrived. It turns out "the lunch menu" was a 3-course prix fixe option and borscht was the 1st dish. We probably wouldn't all have ordered it had we understood but it was delicious with a beautiful beet red color and a pleasantly sour flavor. The main was a nice pasta with salmon and the dessert was an excellent pastry. We sat on the patio which was lovely. Very comfortable. Great restaurant with excellent food. In particular we loved our accidental borscht!
