To start off I have never known that kids could be dripped off at daycare and not cry when they go. My 2 year old granddaughter has never cried and willingly goes in on her own. I love getting photos or videos during the day through the app as well. Such a neat feature! They show what things they are working on so I can continue to ask and with her at home. They check the kids in at the door taking temperature and wearing a mask to keep things as safe as possible. All the teachers and leaders there seem happy and are so loving to the kids. You can tell they actually love kids and enjoy being there! No wonder my granddaughter loves to go. I love to go and interact with them as well! Jamie in particular is always so engaging and caring, always wearing a smile! She genuinely cares and listens. You just feel blessed to be around her even if it's for a short time. I randomly came upon The Cottage one day while driving, I stopped in and was greeted by Dana, the then owner, she was more than happy to give me a tour and introduce me to the teachers each of my children would have. I was instantly in love with the place, it is a school atmosphere, they don't just stick 20 kids in a room and let them go buckwild. Since then The Cottage has been taken over by new owners, Elle and Dustin, who are amazing and very diligent in dealing with any needs or concerns you have. The school has been recently renamed to The Cottage Education and Learning Acadamy, because it is more than just a daycare. Each class has curriculum type schedules, which include Science and Spanish, and parents are always informed of what is being worked on that particular week to keep it going at home. The teachers are amazing and always have the child's best interest at heart. If you are looking for the best school in the area, The Cottage is worth your time to stop and tour. Of course it costs a little more than your average day care, but isn't that the point, it isn't your average daycare! Children remember and learn the most in their youngest years and will carry their experiences with them forever, why not give them the best you can and you will find that at The Cottage!

My friend's daughter was almost TOO prepared for Kindergarten after attending ABCD. (She was bored in Kindergarten because she was RE-learning things that she had already been taught at ABCD preschool.) As far as safety goes, a great deal of our local law enforcement use this preschool for their children and they patrol the neighborhood often- I've seen them myself! PS. Don't park the wrong way on the streets, You WILL be ticketed. My grade for this establishment= A. (The only reason I didn't give them an A+ is because they do shuffle the kids back and forth between different classrooms/teachers a fair amount. My child doesn't LOVE this aspect, but it's probably good for her anyway. Consistency is good- but it's also important to teach kids to deal with change.) I was told there shouldn't be a problem getting her in as I wasn't too far down on the list for that month. When it came closer to needing daycare (August) and not hearing from them, I called to confirm arrangements. They said they didn't have availability and to check back next year! I told them I was on the waitlist list since last summer. Their excuse was other moms who have children there take precedence. What really likely happened is they lost the list in their relocation and never admitted to it. Fast forward, I follow up in the fall, the new year, and again I called back in the summer and I asked what place I was in line and the gave me a number that was way further down then what I started with. Never did hear from them. Disorganized, irresponsible and unprofessional.

The children are about the only good thing about this place. The owner (Robyn) shows constant favoritism to her own daughter (Angel) that works here, her sister (Ladonna), and the few employees that she likes/ that have worked there for years. Her daughter (Angel) who is not even qualified to work here is allowed to do the bare minimum(causing other classrooms to go without and other people to do her job), runs personal errands on the clock, she watches her own child on the clock(other employees have also had to help watch her daughter while working), she does her own personal school work on the clock, sits in the office doing personal tasks rather than working, leaves for longer periods of time than her allotted break times, shows up late, "isn't allowed to be in the bathroom for too long because she forgets what shes doing/ where she is" (Robyns own words), wears whatever she wants while the rest of us follow a dress code. Other employees are expected to pick up Angel's slack and not say anything about it, yet Robyn has fired other people on the spot for the same thing. Ladonna the cook does not follow food safety policies, consistently leaves food uncovered in the fridge after cooking it, freezes, de-thaws, and re-freezes food. Claims things on the menu are homemade but in reality they are pre-made items. Uses the microwave to cook 90% of the food, walks around the center with the same gloves on that shes uses to prepare the food. Has served expired food as well as raw food on multiple occasions. Does not provide enough food for the kids to have a full portion or second helpings. Shows up late and leaves early almost every single day, and complains about doing her job constantly. Robyn will consistently brag about how much money she has and all the things she buys/ trips she goes on but wont give her employees raises or incentives to stay or offer healthcare benefits or any benefits really. If you are sick or have to call out she will shame you for it and show no sympathy or understanding, but allows her own daughter to call out whenever she feels like it. Will allow her favorite employees to accrue PTO but would cash out my PTO on almost every single paycheck to the point I had negative PTO hours. Robyn will make a set of rules for one classroom but certain people are exempt from those rules. She does not accommodate children that show signs of being on the spectrum or that may have a disability instead she will just kick them out of the center. Working here took a huge toll on my mental health, despite working extremely hard day after day I was never shown any gratitude or appreciation instead I was treated as the "less than" employee because I was simply not a part of her favorites. Even though I was considered a "lead teacher" I was not allowed to make any decisions about the classroom I worked in, had my ideas turned down, and was not recognized as a good employee ever. Robyn is an extremely greedy, selfish and unappreciative employer and expects this job to be your only priority when this business is not her priority in the slightest. She is the worst manager I have ever encountered in my entire life. I will sincerely miss the children I cared for but I will not miss working here, and do not recommend this place for employment at all for anyone.
