After a couple of visits, many of the church goers had learned our names and made us feel welcomed. The atmosphere is very warm. You don't get any dirty looks from any one when your baby gets fussy and starts acting up. They don't judge you because of your looks, lifestyle, ethnic backgrounds or history. During services they have 2 childcare rooms; infants and toddlers. After services most people move into the dining hall to grab a delicious pastry or fresh fruit along with something to drink and meet and mingle with every one. Working at one of the casinos I always feel drained and blah from all the negativity all around me. I enjoy coming here for the positive vibes. It's like a recharge. They have plenty of activities such as painting, tai chi, trips and fund raisers. I do the weekly Bethel Bible study. It's a small group of a dozen or so and we discuss the Bible in depth. Being new to reading the Bible this program is so helpful. They teach you that the mindset of the people of the times was more philosophical and not literal which helps make sense of many of the Bible verses. I always look forward to Bethel. I really can go on and on about how wonderful this place is but really you need to come here for yourself!!
