The grounds are really well maintained and it was nice to walk around. Plus it was cool to explore a part of RI I never visit. Off season, October to May, the "winter church" or parish center on Spring Street is where you will find the daily mass. Check the Block Island Times or call the parish center (401) 466-5519 for current mass times. Saint Andrews Church runs an active CCD program during the school year. Every Saint Patrick's Day weekend the Ladies Guild holds it's annual Saint Paddy's Brunch which brings out all the islanders. The Ladies Guild runs a "Not New Boutique" all summer in the building located behind the parish center on Spring Street. Lightly worn clothing is taken as donation and sold very reasonably. The current priest, Father Joseph Protano lives on island and says daily mass, year round.

You can meet all the great people and learn about the wonderful mission work they do... like Angel food Ministries, Friday night pizza for the homeless shelter, the food pantry, Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets to those in need, Sunday nursery for parent's who need some spiritual time for themselves, Christian education, Community meal, the milk fund,(Others I just cant recall them all!) and the best for last: A FANTASTIC SCHOOL OF THE ARTS!
