Joy Tea is a bit far away for this Westsider, but it's always worth it. They have an excellent topping and foam menu that lets you build and customize your drink with more options than most in town, although beginners should probably start with one of the drinks listed because it can get overwhelming. You can request sweetness level, which I always do, because I find most milk teas a bit too sweet. They also appear to serve bubble waffles in various forms and a few other dessert options, but we haven't tried them yet, although I'm looking forward to it. The service has always been professional, if a bit hands-off. The shop is a cheery, clean, yellow and white-painted space with big windows, the hipster neon sign that comes standard in boba places for selfies, plants and modern chairs, couches and standard tables for hanging out with friends. A tv was on in the corner, but it was on mute. I've been to most, if not all of the boba places in town, and Joy tea is very high on my list. This place is a vibe! They play super nice and chill music, like Steve Lacy or Frank Ocean. The interior design is so pretty. Comfortable couches and seats or high top seats. Super clean place as well. Super good place to study and do homework or just hang out. The strawberry shaved ice was recommended by the friendly cashier who gave us really good recommendations on the desserts and drinks here. She gave us a raffle ticket to enter into their raffle for a boba plushie or two free drinks. She said they draw every week for a prize! How amazing! The drinks were very good, you can still taste the tea and it's wasn't super sweet either to mask the tea. It was perfect ratio of tea and strawberry and pineapple. Cute little tea place! We are from CA so finding good tea is something I had to do after moving. I have been to a couple in Wichita and this fruit tea is by far my favorite. We didn't have any puff waffles but they looked and smelled amazing! Cool atmosphere and they even have a cart with games! It looks low in the pic because a lot of people were using them so there is more! It was really nice to stop in and will be returning. read more

Solid regular black milk tea, the bubbles were good, not hard and slightly sweet taste. The egg pudding, though, off and too hard. Go with the bubbles instead. They can make it half sugar and no ice. Thank you for the great tea! The brown sugar milk is too sweet for me but the kids liked it and no tea to overcaffeinate then. Shaved ice here too so will try that soon! read more

1 less star for the atmosphere. I stayed to study and the music was too loud and explicit. Not ideal for studying. I was there for a few hours in the afternoon, and a lot of people just stopped in to pick up their drink and leave. Also, the table was a little from a spilled drink. That would've been nice to clean up. Otherwise, SUPER cute interior. Very Instagram-able. They had a few board games I noticed in the corner. Free wifi, outlets. I like that they have a little drive thru too. Restrooms are clean. Oh, one issue I had, and this is not really an issue I suppose, but since I was at the tall table next to the swanky decor, that's where all the scent diffusers were placed which were kinda blowing into my face. Not a huge fan of strong scents. I don't think I'd come back to study here because I also don't think I like the boba smell. I ordered the honey jasmine milk tea, and there was plenty milk and jasmine but not sure if I tasted any honey. It was a decent drink, but I didn't really get to enjoy it as i was not feeling that well with the scent blasts. I will come back though for the shaved ice. I LOVE shaved ice!! read more

If you want real shaved ice - the smooth, creamy, never chunky, melt-in-your-mouth kind - this is the place to go. The durian one, if you're a fan of the fruit, is beautifully creamy and fragrant.
