Anyone who goes out in Prague knows the pain of coming back home with one's clothes, skin and hair all smelling like an ashtray - so this is a big step and Popo has a massive plus from me for that! Drinks: There are about four beers on tap. There is a good variety of spirits and cocktails. Despite being famous for the dirt-cheap cocktails (tequilla sunrise and other longs for 65 crowns in the center of Prague - what's not to love?!), last time I went there it also stocked some lovely high quality foreign rums. Atmosphere: This one is tricky, as it can change drastically depending on the night. Sometimes during the busy events when there's a good DJ on, you can't hear a word and have to fight your way to the bar. On other nights it gets very quiet, to the point that given how large it is, it can seem quite dead. I think you can't make a mistake in coming here for cheap pre-drinks, though - worst case you'll move on to one of the numerous other bars nearby. Location: Popo is about a minute away from the tram stop 'Ujezd'. The Ujezd area is a good party spot not for large scale clubbing, but rather for a crawl along smaller and more atmospheric bars and pubs. It can get quite busy and lively and is a spit away from the most central locations of Prague, so there is no way you won't have options even if you decide to have a drink and then move on from Popo. Also, on the nights with good weather, there is nothing more pleasant than heading out of the bar drunk and taking a nice group stroll through the Petrin Hill (no more than a minute walk away from the bar) and enjoying the amazing views of the city by night from there.

Pro-tip: small lockers are free - You will need 1 or 2 euro coin for deposit. Otherwise, you will have to use the coat check. They have a bar inside; But, I did not check it out. I'll never forget the memories we made here. This was a performance/sight seeing tour so not only did our guides give us a history of the area and venues, but we were able to make our own. Not many people can ever say they've played here, especially not many Americans, certainly not from my area, or my background. The fact that we were able to secure the nations top concert hall for a foreign youth symphony was pretty special. I'm also kind of glad to have the 1st English review to really give a completely different perspective (I translated the previously posted reviews). Most Americans are uncultured, untraveled, and to some degree I am too, but without going into too much detail, this is a must for anyone. There are no other halls like this Imperial Concert Hall. Sure Germany has more famous composers, but neither the Opernhaus Dortmund or Konzerthaus have the prestige. You'll often see the Czech Philharmonic playing here. Other halls of this era tend to look more like bank's with the pillars, but the Mendellsohn statue and the ornate interior make this special. The curtains, the everything handcrafted, carved. It has some modern amenities, but has not lost it's old world feel. Compared to more modern halls the acoustics are excellent. The back hallways aren't as small as I'd thought, usually places have small back rooms and staging areas, the lighting is very bright to the performer, but dim to the audience. The seats are pretty comfortable, certainly for an hour or two. The bathrooms have modern amenities and even those are still pretty opulent. You can tell this place was built to stage performances to some high class folks with the coat racks, # of benches and the way the main hallways are designed. When you're on stage performing in a place like this you can almost hear the crowds of hundreds of years applauding you through the ages as you stand in the footsteps of greatness.

Because, as we say in Vinohrady or Žižkov: If you don´t know where to go at 2am, just go to Akropolis, because there is always someone :-) OK, first of all concerts and theatre performancies. Acoustic is pretty good. It´s not huge but still. There can be around 250 sitting people for a theatre performance and 1000 standing for a concert. Mainly not so known bands and theatre groups play here but there are from time to time some famous and known ones. Club is divided into more rooms. And there are different music styles in each of them. Plus there are some "quiet" places. There two bars but one is only for coctails and shots. The other one has also beer. Restaurant is kind an average. It´s usually very smokey so get ready for it or sit outside. Yes, they have a garden. On the sidewalk next to the street, but the street is not so busy, so it doesn´t matter. Meals are ok. Beer is from Pilsen. So I would definitely recommend this place for its cultural events but not really for a gastronomical experience.

It´s right at Wenceslav Square in its upper part. So it´s very easy to get there. It´s pretty big…read more There is a main round room with dance floor, bar and tables with both benches and barstools. In the upper part is another small room with another bar and by the entrance is coat check. I don´t understand why is this place such a big deal. OK, the space is big enough but otherwise it seems like any another dance club. Coctails are more or less average. Choice of drinks is also kind the same like anywhere else. I don´t know. Anyway, it´s a place which wont dissapoint you but also wont dazzle. But I guess that nothing will really bother you when you will stop there later in a night in a drunken mood :-)

It's probably the best among all other Nebe bars in Prague by a good general impression it gives…read more This bar has two floors and looks quite big if you come there in the evening during the week and not at night in the weekend - then it's extremely crowded and appears just tiny, especially downstairs (and I'm not exaggerating). It's a pretty nice place to stop by for a drink and chat after work (and possibly to have some dancing after), with an interesting design, wide selection of drinks and small food and snacks menu. What I can add is that their coffee is horrible, but at the same time it's not really a coffee place. They also ask to leave a coat in a cloakroom and charge 20 Kc for that.

Food was really great (menu with pictures of what you will eat with translation and correspond to what you will received), great cocktails, very efficient and nice staff. Things to notice, for a smoking place in Praha, it is very well ventilated so no smoke smells during eating or on clothes when coming back home. Restaurant part is on 1st floor and music club is separated in the basement.
