Consumer beware. Let…read moremy lesson be a warning to anyone who is looking for exterior painting. January 2nd I made a post looking for recommendations for exterior painting and siding repairs. I received a few messages and had 3 different quotes. Every person who came for an estimate was shown the same areas that needed replacement or repair, including a walk around the house. Yes, the house is an older home, but that was made known up front. I received 3 quotes, 2 were very close in price. One of those was Pro-Clean. At the time of the estimate, the owners wife, Kat, was the one who came to the home, spoke with me, took pictures of the areas of concern and said it would be "no problem". Estimate received (see attached photos) which listed House paint & Repair Paint house, fascia, trim, soffit, white wash look on Brick, repair siding, soft wash fence, pressure wash concrete. In talking with the owner, I was advised they would also throw in washing the privacy fence also. That was the deciding factor to go with this company. I also made it clear that I was in no hurry for the project to be started, as we were expecting the winter storm within the coming weeks. Project was started the week the weather was moving in. I was assured that there would be no issues with paint curing due to this. Due to the weather, I was unable to really see the detailed work that was done until the weather had passed. At that time, I walked the house and noticed that none of the siding had been addressed. Screens were found on the ground under the snow cover, windows were covered in overspray. Yes it's an old house and windows are old, but I still expected better. I messaged the owner, Derrick, to ask about this. I was told that they could not repair the siding, that it needed to be replaced and they could not do that. I told him that was unfortunate, because the other estimates I received included the repair/replacement of these areas. As I sat with this for a few days, the more irritated I became. As soon as they saw the issue and were unable to replace it, the project should have been halted and the homeowner should have been notified. He stated that he told me when he started the project, which is untrue because I was at work when they began working. I even clarified in text the pricing and what was included. Within a few days, paint began to bubble. I sent a picture of the areas to him and asked if they could address it. One week, no answer. I sent another text and received a reply that they would take care of it. Derrick came and scraped the areas, slapped one coat of paint on it and that was it. I sent a message to the owners wife, through messenger, as she was the one who reached out to me and was the one who came to do the estimate, stating my disappointment. I did tell them that I would not be able to recommend their business due to my experiences. Derrick immediately texted me and told me this was a "budget level job" and they don't repair or replace siding. I did not ask for a budget level job, I asked for an estimate. They took it upon themselves to do a budget level job. I asked for the paint information, so I could apply a second coat to the bubbled areas myself, and so whoever I hired could color match the rest of the house. He refuses to give me that information, which is the least they could do. He keeps saying we can have a phone call to discuss, I refuse to have any communication not in writing. Last message sent 3/12 and no reply. I have sat on this, because I was giving them a chance to do the right thing before taking it public. I've exhausted my patience. I have attached every single text and message, and pictures of work. I don't want anyone to deal with the issues I've had. If they could not repair or replace the siding, they should have said that the day they did the estimate, or at the very least, when he reviewed the pictures that were taken. A simple, "sorry, that's not something we can address" would have at least allowed me to go a different direction. I did have them stain and repair the fence, this work is satisfactory, it seems like this is what they should stick with.

I have many pecan trees on my OK property, one in particular is very, VERY old & very beautiful…read more It's the main reason I picked the acreage to build on. It's a magnificent tree, well over 100 years old. It's enormous. A few years ago a horrific storm came thru & one of the lower limbs broke down the side of the tree injuring it. A hole formed in the tree & water was going in it every time it rained & it started to rot. Hubby & painted it & somewhat fixed it but it was still rotting. In the process of building a B&B on this property construction people are coming & going all the time. I started asking all my contractors; "what should I do with The Big Tree? Should I cut it down?" I asked everyone. No one would touch it. I called EVERYONE. No one would touch it. I begged my roofer to help me find someone. He called people. I called people. He told me "find someone with a lot of insurance" so that's what I did. Luckily, a couple towns over, I find Hendrixson Tree service, owned by "Mike the tree Doctor" in business for over 30 years. Insured up to one million bucks. When he came to give me the free estimate I asked him if the tree could be saved & what would he do? Mike spent a great deal of time talking to me about the Big Tree & what he thought could be done & left. I took his FREE advice, closed the hole in the tree & waited. Spring came & went, summer, fall, winter, I kept checking the tree. Little by little the Big Tree started to heal itself! Then, last week another Violent storm came & broke a couple branches in my beloved Big Tree & I immediately thought of Mike! I called him right away. Again, he came right over & gave me another free estimate to trim it. This time, he pointed to another tree & said; "this is a bigger problem over here." He has since taken that problem tree out & trimmed up my big tree which continues to heal itself by the erudite of Mike the tree Doctor's diagnosis. I can never thank Mike enough for what he has done for me. He saved my beloved big tree with nothing but Gods Grace & a handshake. As hard as it was to find this wonderful man, you need not look for anyone else to help you with any tree service issues, this man is a freakin genius & God sent. Hire him! Highly highly recommend!
