Totally horrible. The dumpster for our condo association has a completely broken lid. JRM promised a couple of weeks ago to repair or replace the dumpster, but hasn't done so. In its present state, it's bound to attract wild animals. Currently it appears that they haven't even picked up the trash in weeks. This company is horrible. Not only do the recycling collectors drop our recyclables on the ground, and just leave them there, not only do they throw our recycling bins and damage them, but this week they never showed up to collect the recyclables at all. Our collection day is Wednesday morning, and it is now Thursday, mid afternoon, and they still have not come. I have left voice message after voice message, with no call backs. How the Town of Saugus puts up with this kind of unprofessionalism is beyond me, and in my complaint to the town, I demanded that they sever their contract with JRM. I have a hearing sensitivity called hyperacusis. Because I live in a multi-building condo complex the volume of trash generated necessitates that JRM come to my location some three to four days a week. I don't have a complaint with the quality of the pick up service. What I do have a huge complaint about is how loud the trucks are. I dread hearing them on the mornings they are here. The keening, whining, screeching, squealing and mechanical hum of the trucks is absolutely OBNOXIOUS. I suppose the company has never once thought about noise pollution and how difficult it can be for people with hearing sensitivities to live with how much sound they generate. I become so furious with how how loud they are that I occasionally imagine going out and screaming at their drivers to hurry up already and go away. They leave debris on our street every week. My neighbors and I are sick of cleaning up after them. I'm disabled. I had major spine surgery a little over a year ago! I shouldn't have to clean up their mess and chase trucks down! So today, they neglected to take a trash bag... AGAIN and I had to clean up literally the whole end of our street. I finally got sick of it. I've tolerated this for too long. I called over ten times, and they won't pick up. I emailed its undeliverable. So I decided to find a truck that will take the trash bag they neglected to take. He refused to take one stupid bag. Then the driver almost ran me over. Purposely. My dash cam caught it all. The company is very careless with their hiring of drivers. I have had them hit my professional building on multiple occasions including this morning. I have called management and nothing has been done. The hauling account is with adjacent buidling so I have no other means that to post this in hopes that it can have some impact. My pleas to stop hitting my building have gone unheeded. The drivers accuse me of hitting my own buidling and call me a liar. They are offensive and relentlessly accusatory. within first two month services with them, they always missed one pick up(we have two pick ups/week), I had to call them each time, then their customer services told me on pick up on next day, when missed again, the service told me on again next day, now our dumpster still not pick up. One of the worst companies I've ever HAD to use. I've had them for over 4 years and they've NEVER been decent. They pick and choose what they will pick up and they don't actually dump the barrels in the truck (ever) instead they open the barrel and take one maybe two if your lucky bag(s) of trash out.... leaving most of the trash for you to take back and try again the next week! Here we go again! Now this week they refused to collect my recycled materials. First it was my trash, now this time they didn't take my recycle stuff. I'm really getting sick and tired of these people picking and choosing what they take and what they don't take. Looks like next week when I hear the truck I will have to go outside and stand there to make sure that they do what they are supposed to do. My town switched from Waste Management to JRM recently for garbage collection, and the difference has been obvious from the start. 1) The street is always strewn with trash after the JRM truck comes by. 2) The guys really fling the recycling bins around so that all the corners get broken. 3) The trucks work both sides of the street at once, sometimes driving on the wrong side of the street (or down the middle), with the collectors dashing through a lane of traffic in any case to pick up trash on the opposite side of the street. All of this adds up to a company that is pushing their employees to be more "productive" than they're physically able to, without cutting corners. I guess you get what you pay for. read more

No choice here for zero stars ? Worst customer service ! I've been calling for 3 days with no response . They have left my trash at the curb for 3 days . They took the bags with the overflow stickers that I paid extra for, but left the rest . We have a registered in law apartment that should allow us to put out extra but every week we get complaints from the drivers such as the barrel is too big. We have had the same barrel for 16 years, now In the last they are too big? Maybe I should not Have left them out in the rain they must have grown. If these barrels are too big for the guys Maybe my 10 year old could take their job because he has no trouble taking out the trash. This Company Sucks.... they took my entire trash barrel about a year ago(neighbor saw the guy throw the whole barrel into the truck) So I went out and bought a nice top of the line barrel . On trash day , they put a big green tag on "barrel to big". ok ...we used bags for a while ... just bought another barrel , high quality rubber maid barrel normal size from HD.. on trash day- same green tag" barrel too big ". Gimme a break ... 45 gal max mine is 50...not filling with water, just paper. I feel scammed by this company as well as the city of Arlington. I had been cleaning out my mothers home of 40 years, and put out several bags of trash plus some misc. items (small pieces of furniture/odds and ends). The city trash collectors did not pick it all up. A woman from the city showed up the next day, (Charlotte) explaining that is was too much stuff. She was very nice and gave me JRM's number and explained that to avoid a fine from the city, I needed to call them and for $2 a bag they would pick up the rest for me. I called them (in a semi panic) my mother had just died. I was not from here and my time was limited to get all of this work done. I sent the 2 photos of what needed to be pick up. Total of 15 items. 10 were trash bags, the other items were smaller than trash bags and were all recyclable items (comforters/small wood items, etc.) The woman on the phone tells me they can come tomorrow for $400. Non-refundable. That means I can not shop around.I explain the price I was quoted and her response to that was "I don't understand why they keep telling people that" If I don't get this done, I will be fined. I pay it. It gets done. I spoke to Charlotte about this right afterwards, she seemed outraged at this rate and promised to look into it and follow up with me. 8-14-18... i was driving down Route 1 Peabody in front of TGIfriday (resturant) all three lanes was flooded from quick rainstorm about a foot of water.. Traffic was stop. People were scared to go through the flood which is understandable.. Mr cdl driver (moron) with the JRM truck decides to go 25 miles an hour through the flood. My Windows was cracked a little bit all that water went into my car on top of my cell phone and my laptop... It covered the windshield I could not see along with everyone else who slammed on the brakes for the same reason. As a professional CDL driver you should know better!!!!! I have property on the north shore. I thought that JRM was giving me poor service but when I called they told me that the town will not let them pick up more than what is in the cans. I checked with the town and JRM was right. They are told by contract what they can and cant do. Not JRM's fault for the perceived poor service. The person on the phone at JRM was very polite and explained my service level very well. Even offered a discount for dumpster service if I needed something at my house in the future. I researched the company and found out that they are the largest locally family owned trash company with over 40 years in business. I like that vs the 1-800 runaround from the big companies who really don't have a personal touch. I hope people and towns keep using their services. We need local companies to stay in business. Without them as an option we would be left at the mercy of the carless national companies. Keep growing JRM and provide quality service in everything you do. read more

I have had only two experiences, and both were a waste of my time. I have called three times in both cases, spoke to a woman named Courtney about recycling not picked up. I was promised it would be taken care of, but it never happened. Called the next day, and same exact thing. I ended up just bringing it to the city yard instead of wasting my time on the phone and being lied to any further. I rarely have good feedback for garbage and recycling services. Often, I come home and my garbage can is half in the road or blocking my driveway, clearly thrown across the street. Today, however, I just witnessed a waste collector pick up some of the recycling that had been blown on the ground and place it back into my recycling bin! How very thoughtful and considerate to avoid waste getting blown throughout the neighborhood. So thank you waste collector! I am writing this review because the only other one on here is pretty harsh. JRM does our town's trash removal too and I have never had a problem with them.. Actually the guys that do my route are very pleasant, and the streets are definitely not covered in trash after they leave.. And as far as them getting in the way (in reference to the other person's review).. First of all, in my town, they don't do that, but also I just kind of think that you should let them do their thing in the event that you are near them. This company consistently hires lazy, bad, and unlicensed drivers. I live on a one way street and the carelessness in which they drive down it is astonishing and dangerous. I've witnessed three accidents involving their trucks on my street alone in 4 years. To give you some perspective I've lived on this street for 15 years and those are the only accidents I've ever witnessed here. I'm not even exaggerating you can't make this up. I'm writing a review because one almost just pulled into me with their hazards on and a worker outside collecting trash. Waited ten seconds, the secondary worker even acknowledged me, they still almost pulled into me after I made my presence known and that I was passing. Jrm has no line to report negative driving, heck their only contact info is for private jobs. Absolutely terrible company I wish they were not employed by my city. I rather haul trash in my small car to the next town over. This is not even mentioning their service which is also terrible. They consistently through your barrels in the middle of the road, which you'll find ran over after you get back from work. Speechless. Abosuletely speechless. I have never in my life experienced such poor service from a town contracted company. Living in Danvers, I've assumed the (outrageously) high property taxes were due to the services offered by the town. Well, that is certainly not the case because we should be paid as residents to have JRM as our waste "removal" company. "Removal" is a term I use extremely lightly as most of my trash remains in the barrel, or decorates the street. Garbagemen working for this company are literal trash. You see those cute Facebook videos where kids' offer very friendly and professional garbagemen a cookie or vice-versa where they provide a small gift to the residents. Well, you certainly should not move to Danvers if that is what you're looking for. The garbagemen here are highly un-professional, irritable, and mean. I have had to ask them while they were outside my house to finish emptying trash after (quite literally throwing) half emptying barrels and they snarl saying they can't because there is something in the can that "they don't accept". Whoops sorry, didn't realize trash companies were picky about the types of trash they accepted. When they do empty trash they throw barrels often breaking them (we've gone through five). I also must be mistaken because surely it is normal for a homeowner to have to prompt the trash attendant to do his/her job. Outrageous. Another thing to note is that now that the town pays this company to stare at trash and drive by it, I've been having to bring waste to the dump. Recently the town had the brilliant idea to contract the dump to the same company ( a subsidiary of them, but same thing). Prior to doing so trash was properly maintained in designated areas and under sanitary conditions. Now, the dump has trash all over the streets on the way up to drop off areas. Disgusting. Really I do understand that it is a dump and may be slightly messy at points, but if the waste management company is not going to do their job in residential neighborhoods, then they at least should be doing so at the dump. I am also curious as to where the trash at the dump is coming from because it clearly is not brought there by JRM. Not to mention the office employees and truck operators there were extraordinarily sexist and misogynous towards a female relative of mine. I cannot understand why the town would ever hire these bimbos. Having decided to take matters into my own hands I called JRM. They referred me to the town/JRM guidelines for trash collection. Holy shit. The rules were so beyond absurd. They only collect three bags of trash and will not allow certain products to be recycled. Like plastic bags for example. If they see one plastic bag they won't accept the recycling. Excuse me? Okay then, I'll go give my trash to the sea turtles. Has this company considered the fact that most grocery stores bag groceries in plastic? Clearly not. Overall, I guess my point is that for any town considering renewing contracts with/hiring JRM, don't. You'd be much better off without them because that way at least you wouldn't be PAYING for your trash to pile up on the sidewalk. As for JRM, I hope this review leads you to realize that your service is trashier than the waste you *claim* to dispose of. Horrible!!! Placed a rusted out dumpster in driveway. Completely trashed and crushed concrete driveway in several spots. They call me to say they caused damage and then say they're not liable. Ms Megan Ashworth in their office needs customer service training. Sent them pics of the damage and they still say they're not liable. They'll be getting suit papers.
