I admit to even being a little A.D.D. about it, but hey there are worse things in life. I like most people also like to save money. The Washington County Environmental Center has both. We've been coming here for a few years now. The W.C.E.C. is open to all residents of Washington County. The W.C.E.C. pretty much takes all those things you could throw out in your normal garbage and all of the items you can't throw out, for FREE. Yes FREE. Some of the items we have taken there over the years are truck loads of cardboard boxes. We've been in our house for over 20 years. I've saved boxes from years ago "in case" we move again so we can pack items in their same box. This has lead to us having way too many boxes. So the "boss" finally said we need to get rid of a bunch of these boxes. We loaded up our truck and dropped them off at the W.C.E.C. We've also taken cans of paint and stain as well as TV's and electronics. The list of items they do not accept is far and few as they accept a lot of items. Did I mention this is FREE? The process is quicker than going to your local drive thu. You pull in and follow the signs to their garage area. As you pull up they ask to see you license and then they unload your items. This is better for the environment and you don't have to pay your garbage company. The other thing that they do is somehow refurbish paint and cleaning items and sell them for pennies of the dollar inside their shop. This is a great way to save some money on items you'll use around the house. Cleaning and organizing our home certainly helps me be more like Mr Mom than that "guy", The longer we're around, the more we will be back to the W.C.E.C.
