The objective of the project was to find and create more space within the existing footprint, update and upgrade our room space and the quality of materials, and lastly to create a new custom look within the home, so it would last us for many years to come. The first and most critical phase of the project was to make sure that the existing house bones could withstand the additional loads of adding a new floor to an existing structure. Levi and his team were extremely thorough, they took time to understand our wants, wishlists, and needs. They drew it all out for us so we could clearly see the changes. When it came time for demolition, framing and building the new structures - this process went very quickly - and all the new built items exceeded my expectation in terms of the quality used - as well as the specs it was built to. Additionally, Levi and his team found many existing issues with our building - that he went above and beyond to correct them while we had openings in all our walls. Levi always served as a voice of guidance, a regulation rule follower, and treated our house like it was his own. Nor corners were cut, no shortcuts were made. The best part of the project was that it was completed within the budget and on time - and in this market that is a truly remarkable accomplishment.

Over our first year of ownership I have come to appreciate the attention to detail at every level of construction and design. In addition, SFH promised to fix anything and everything for a year. They have honored that promise 100% with grace and courtesy. For example, as the house settled, many doors needed to be realigned. SFH did that quickly and efficiently at no charge to me. Thankfully, there have been no major issues. During the freeze in February 2021, we lost power for 43 hours. My SFH house stayed at 60F for most of that time while my neighbors' houses dipped into the 40s. I had no issues with pipes, etc. My only complaint about SFM is that they recommend that we work exclusively with Strotek for the AV in the house. This was not a good recommendation and now we are stuck with Strotek.

What stood out most wasn't just the quality of the work -- it was how he handled the entire process. Matt communicated consistently from start to finish, checked in regularly with updates, and never left us guessing about where things stood. When we needed to change direction on design decisions mid-project, he was patient and flexible without making us feel like an inconvenience. He also put real thought into the order and flow of the work, knowing that we were living in the house the entire time -- that kind of consideration isn't something you take for granted. When small things came up after the project was finished, Matt didn't hesitate to come back and make it right.
