Their mission is to support incarcerated people nationwide by sending them books. The book shop also has notebooks, stickers, jewelries, bookmarks, and greeting cards. It was very organized and clean. Tte staff were very nice. For book lovers, you can find a great variety of genres. For example; thriller and mystery , history, Poetry, religions, Philosophy , Fiction , romance, fantasy, Sci-fi, comics, classics, social studies, Wellness, parenting, kids, business, cultural studies and more. It's a nice Bookshop to go to support a good cause.

Hardcovers are now $6 and paperbacks $4, which is more than at a general thrift store but then again this nonprofit has a good cause (sending free books to prisons) and a better selection. What used to be the $1 shelf outside the front entrance is the donation shelf where you pay what you can. Hopefully that'll actually make people more generous. In any case, I'm just so glad there are people who still read!!! ;)

We spent time browsing and were never asked if we needed assistance. The atmosphere felt unwelcoming and indifferent, which made us feel like our business wasn't valued. On top of that, many of the books and items seemed significantly overpriced compared to other bookstores. Customer service can make a huge difference in a shopping experience, and unfortunately this visit fell far below expectations. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this bookstore and will not be returning.

They examined each volume and offered a fair price for the ones worthy of selling in their store or at book fairs. I learned many of the books were in good condition and very old, yet have little value in the current market. They advised me of where to sell other books in the collection which had little value, were not rare and/or in need of repair. Really nice folks. As a society we must support our local economy by patronizing our independent book sellers. Covina... you have a treasure!

Staff are helpful and welcoming and prices are pretty decent for the quality. I came during the holiday season and the vibes were festive and fun! I walked away with some cute and unique vintage Christmas decorations that my cats won't be able to destroy lol - as well as some soup starters that have all been absolutely delicious so far! They've been so good, in fact, that I scoured the web and found the company online so I can order from them again in the future (it's Anderson House Frontier Soups - they use minimal all natural ingredients and have a wide variety of flavors - fantastic soups!). I also snagged a dip mix and they had locally made honeys, jams, candies, and even fresh gourmet coffee beans and an antique grinder. And if you love to decorate with any rooster or chicken themed items, Shabbyology is your jam! If my kitchen wasn't already packed full of rooster-themed decor, I would've walked away with so much more. They also host occasional themed "sip and shop" nights where they offer entertainment and various drinks and nibbles while you browse. They have a digital newsletter to keep you informed of upcoming events and classes so be sure to sign up! Their location is a tad strange for the genre of store - they're found in a large industrial complex and their shop blends in among all the beige, nondescript buildings.
