We received a super detailed, very professional proposal the same day. Their meticulous attention to detail was immediately obvious from that first contact. You can really tell that they take pride in their work. Additionally, they accommodated our schedule, as we had to deal with some time constraints. Overall, they were a real joy to work with -- friendly, helpful, accommodating, and offered some great advice along the way. They do know their Benjamin Moore paints! We are just thrilled with how our home turned out! Could not have hoped for a better experience. We will be recommending Sugar House Painting to family and friends, and will certainly be using their services again. Thank you so much!!! :)

Grey House Painting - Kitchen refinish with toner and clear coat

We recently had the pleasure of working with Nelson from Grey House Painting for a project that…read moreinvolved staining, painting, and patching work around our newly remodeled banisters and staircases. Simply put, Nelson did an incredible job, and the results exceeded all our expectations. One of the biggest parts of this project was staining the new handrails and banisters to match our existing flooring. Nelson showed my wife and me a wide range of stain samples, each carefully selected to closely match the tones of our floors. He was patient and helpful throughout the selection process, and the final result was a perfect match to the sample we chose. The stain not only looks beautiful on its own, but it really ties the whole area together and makes everything feel cohesive and intentional. In addition to the staining, Nelson painted all the trim around the stairs and banisters. This fresh coat of paint gave the space a clean, crisp look and really helped the new woodwork stand out. His attention to detail was apparent in every aspect of the project, edges were sharp, lines were clean, and there was absolutely no sloppiness. He also went above and beyond when it came to prepping the area. Before he got started, Nelson took great care to tape and mask off all nearby surfaces, so there was no overspray or mess to worry about. That level of care and professionalism really stood out. He also patched and textured the walls in areas where the old banisters had been removed, and you would never know there was any work done there. The patched areas blend in flawlessly with the surrounding wall, both in texture and paint color. Throughout the entire process, Nelson kept us fully informed. He let us know when he would arrive, when he was wrapping up each day, and gave regular updates on progress. It's refreshing to work with someone who values communication and follows through on every promise. He quoted us a fair and competitive price for the work, and we felt we received incredible value given the high level of quality and care he put into everything. Aside from his obvious skill, Nelson is just a genuinely kind and sincere person. It's clear that he takes a lot of pride in his work, and he wants your project to look amazing. If you're looking for a painter who is talented, trustworthy, and truly invested in doing great work, I wholeheartedly recommend Nelson at Grey House Painting. He'll make your home look its absolute best.

I would steer FAR away from this company. The owner is very dishonest and will quote you one thing…read moreand then charge you an astronomical amount after they have started the work. The color he painted my house versus the color I wanted are 2 different things. The color he painted the shutters versus the color I wanted are 2 different things. I was very specific and gave him the swatches when he was at my home. I brought this to his attention and instead he tried to gaslight me and tell me I was wrong and I approved another color. This is not the case and he was given the swatches I approved. I kept a copy. After they had finished the job there were spots missing due to the tape being pulled when it was supposed to be pulled earlier in the drying process. We let Derek know that we were going out of town before the work had ever started. He knew we were out of town and sent his painter to our home unbenounced to us. The painter entered our home illegally and our alarm went off and the police showed up. I did not press charges as I should. After he finished for the day, while we were out of town, he demanded we pay the invoice before we could even inspect the work. Per his contract, he is required to do a final walkthrough and he never scheduled that with us. When we arrived home, we were disappointed that several areas were missed and the work was mediocre at best. We let him know the issues and he had his subcontractor show up again, unbeknownst to us at 7pm at night, when I was trying to bathe my baby and toddler and get them in bed. The subcontractor doesn't know English. When he was finished, he stated "I done" and left. Apparently Derek constitutes that as a final walkthrough. I thought he was going to come and do a final walkthrough so we could go over everything (per his contract) and he didn't. Instead he sent gaslighting, book pages of text, had his attorney contact us, and put a lien on our house. There were several spots that were missed. There is still a huge spillage of paint on our patio and paint spots that are still missing, but we are tired of dealing with him and now we have a lien on our house for subpar work. He illegally recorded my husband on our private property without his permission. It seems as though this contractor is desperate for money and doesn't care about quality. What is sad is that the subcontractor told my contractor that this guy had paid him only $1500 to paint our entire house. He also had to purchase his own supplies. Our invoice is over $5k, when we were originally quoted 3k for everything. He charged us extra for the shutters, because he claimed he missed the shutters on our main floor. We only have the shutters in the front and I was very specific that I wanted our shutters painted. Finally, Derek wanted us to mail a check to his attorney. I have asked several times for a mailing address and who to address the check to with no avail. There have been other complaints for this company on BBB that state they had to hire someone else to fix the mess, because Derek doesn't care about the quality. It is also very unprofessional to just show up to a client's home without scheduling an appointment. It is also very unprofessional to text a client at 10pm at night demanding a payment when I was literally out of town and he knew that. Needless to say, save yourself a lot of trouble and DO NOT hire this company! You will thank me.

Unfortunately this company and the owner Derek make promises they can't live up to leading to,…read morepromising they have the best contractors and it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with drywall and painting. I was told his guy could hang drywall and was the best painter. I mentioned several times to the owner that myself and my hired handyman had to help the Pro Painters employee do his job and that he needed help but the owner would not send help. This man did not know how to hang drywall. I mentioned my dissatisfaction with the job being done but no adjustments were made. There was a lot of back peddling by the owner not accepting responsibility for the poor workmanship being done and instead making it out to be my fault. There were drips on the painted walk-in multiple places, thin paint on every wall and ceiling, tape is still revealed on drywall seems, was told he could wet sand but either he could not or would not, little to no prep work to make wall look smooth and have tight lines, was told there were two coats on everything but it was clear there was only one. Was told the ceiling was painted but it was not as it was a slightly diff color white I could see the lines where the painter decided to stop painting. This horrible result of a job took 2.5 weeks! I was so frustrated by the end of the job I paid my handyman and worked myself for two weeks to make the finished job look like it was done professionally and I wanted nothing to do with this company or any help offered after two weeks of fighting to get the job done right and hearing two weeks worth of excuses. Any more help from this company would have been continually aggravating and frustrating.
