We received a super detailed, very professional proposal the same day. Their meticulous attention to detail was immediately obvious from that first contact. You can really tell that they take pride in their work. Additionally, they accommodated our schedule, as we had to deal with some time constraints. Overall, they were a real joy to work with -- friendly, helpful, accommodating, and offered some great advice along the way. They do know their Benjamin Moore paints! We are just thrilled with how our home turned out! Could not have hoped for a better experience. We will be recommending Sugar House Painting to family and friends, and will certainly be using their services again. Thank you so much!!! :)

Grey House Painting - Kitchen refinish with toner and clear coat

We recently had the pleasure of working with Nelson from Grey House Painting for a project that…read moreinvolved staining, painting, and patching work around our newly remodeled banisters and staircases. Simply put, Nelson did an incredible job, and the results exceeded all our expectations. One of the biggest parts of this project was staining the new handrails and banisters to match our existing flooring. Nelson showed my wife and me a wide range of stain samples, each carefully selected to closely match the tones of our floors. He was patient and helpful throughout the selection process, and the final result was a perfect match to the sample we chose. The stain not only looks beautiful on its own, but it really ties the whole area together and makes everything feel cohesive and intentional. In addition to the staining, Nelson painted all the trim around the stairs and banisters. This fresh coat of paint gave the space a clean, crisp look and really helped the new woodwork stand out. His attention to detail was apparent in every aspect of the project, edges were sharp, lines were clean, and there was absolutely no sloppiness. He also went above and beyond when it came to prepping the area. Before he got started, Nelson took great care to tape and mask off all nearby surfaces, so there was no overspray or mess to worry about. That level of care and professionalism really stood out. He also patched and textured the walls in areas where the old banisters had been removed, and you would never know there was any work done there. The patched areas blend in flawlessly with the surrounding wall, both in texture and paint color. Throughout the entire process, Nelson kept us fully informed. He let us know when he would arrive, when he was wrapping up each day, and gave regular updates on progress. It's refreshing to work with someone who values communication and follows through on every promise. He quoted us a fair and competitive price for the work, and we felt we received incredible value given the high level of quality and care he put into everything. Aside from his obvious skill, Nelson is just a genuinely kind and sincere person. It's clear that he takes a lot of pride in his work, and he wants your project to look amazing. If you're looking for a painter who is talented, trustworthy, and truly invested in doing great work, I wholeheartedly recommend Nelson at Grey House Painting. He'll make your home look its absolute best.

He does such unprofessional work that it doesn't match what he charges, he subcontracts to third…read moreparties whom he doesn't pay, and he's such a rude person that you wouldn't believe it when you see him. I have recordings of what this uneducated and uncivilized human being is really like. Obviously, you hire them through the company, but the actual work is done by a smaller company that, of course, charges less. This is a large-scale pyramid scheme.

Our company performed a painting job for Pro-Painters at a condominium on June 26; we had verbally…read moreagreed upon all the details regarding the work and payment. The verbally agreed-upon payment was $1,800, even though the project was actually valued at $6,500; Derek specifically wrote in a text message: "Don't be surprised by this job--I didn't even want to do it myself--but it's a job for a good client of mine." I made it clear to him that the payment for the job was very low considering everything it required, but I accepted it in order to start working with him. Here are the details of the repairs that were verbally agreed upon: Bathroom: - Skim coat the most damaged areas of the walls and ceiling and apply new texture to cover specific areas with significant damage. Hallway: - Repair hallway wall with new texture to match the existing wall Painting: - Paint the entire apartment using 3 different colors Kitchen: - Paint all cabinets without removing or covering the hinges On the first day of work, I noticed several large holes in the walls and ceilings of the bathroom, hallway, and bedroom closet--repairs that hadn't been part of the previously agreed-upon budget--yet I fixed them at no extra charge. That same day, Derek asked me to remove a section of the dining room ceiling that had a popcorn texture. I took the initiative to fix that area as well, and once again, I agreed to do it at no additional cost. On the second day, he came back asking to have the cabinet hinges removed, the holes filled, and the hinge areas sanded and painted, claiming his client had just requested it. The cabinets had already been painted on the first day, so I refused to do this extra work--especially since Derek was unwilling to pay for it, as it hadn't been part of our verbal agreement. He became angry and lashed out at me, raising his voice and speaking in a very rude and racist manner--completely disregarding the fact that I am a woman and had never disrespected him--to the point where I felt genuinely unsafe. Given his behavior and the fact that he is a man, one of the guys on our team stepped in; he asked him to show some respect and stop his disrespectful, rude, and racist behavior toward me. Before leaving, he made a highly sarcastic comment, nastily remarking that the job would have taken only three minutes to do. He made this comment in front of the workers, and it was a huge insult, as I am certainly not someone who exploits people. He then returned with his tools, interfered with my work, and started removing the cabinet doors--a process of simply removing the hinges that ended up taking him over an hour. All this work was completed in two days, with shifts exceeding ten hours per day. Following the final inspection, minor paint touch-ups were performed on the walls. Once again, it was verbally agreed that the payment would be $1,800. He requested that the job be done quickly--since it would only take two to three days--and stated that, based on his "experience," the work could be carried out by one or two people. The job was finished on schedule, yet I only received $1,500; he claims the work wasn't completed and the bathroom was never fixed. I have before-and-after photos proving that everything agreed upon was actually done. I am writing this review to warn others to be very careful with this individual and his company, Pro-Painters. Don't make the huge mistake I did by accepting a poorly paid job. Also, be aware that he doesn't provide any documentation recording the agreements. Fortunately, I have everything documented in text messages, because I am not going to stay silent. I have already spoken to my lawyer, and this case--involving exploitation, racism, and non-payment--will not go unchallenged. Don't let this man exploit you; he blackmails you with low-paying jobs and expects you to include extra work for free just so you can keep working for him.
