Oh well- I shopped her store. This shop is beautiful outside- very welcoming. Inside it is full, make sure you walk around a few times to see everything. She was working on a pot while I shopped- so much fun!

Vases brightly glazed and with intricate cutouts. Funky art that is just plane fun! I was told by other visitors to allow myself time to adjust to all the bright colors- but for me it was to adjust to how much they have packed into the space! There was just so much to see!!! Carol greeted me once I came through the door and her excitement just fed my own excitement! Carol and her husband have been doing pottery for over 31 years and started their business in Florida, only to move to Seagrove and bring their unique art to the pottery community. The two mix their own clay- a secret recipe of their own that fires at a wildly unique temp! Cone 1- if you know- you know. Fascinating conversation! John saved me from having to pick a piece of art to take home by spotting a wall plaque with a kitty- in their signature bright glazes. She is already hanging just inside my front door! Her happy new home. I hope to save up for a larger piece of their art- because I was so impressed by it!!!

We tried to go on a Wednesday at 4:30 and passed the owner as he was going out to the roadside sign to change the sign to closed. No worries- we made it back on Friday before departing and I was thrilled we did. There were lots of little pots I wanted but one particular glaze combo reminded me of a night sky or the spots on a whale shark. John was in agreement that it was our favorite! Truly- the mug I bought is a favorite from the entire trip! WhyNot add this shop to your stops on the pottery tour?!? You should!

The jar had his curly q handle style. I was enamored with the lights though, truly I was trying to figure out where I could put one at my home. But- I just don't need one. He had both hanging light fixtures and nightstand lamps. I loved them both! Great prices and I was so happy to surprise him when I came back!

My dear friend Kathy said i would like the work and she was right! I love crystalline glazes, textured surfaces & varied surface decorations & I could get all of that here! Goddess, empress, high priestess... she has several in her shop of various sizes in addition to her lovely bee themed series! She's a bee keeper in addition to a potter, small business owner and who knows what else this powerhouse has going on! I remember being so impressed the first time I met her. She took me right out to show me her kiln she was unloading! Turns out, we share a common friend outside of Seagrove. Michael Cottrell. My school professor! They go way back. Very small world.
