I have been a regular customer for years. Five stars for the food, all items El Paso comfort food…read more classics. My favorite continues to be the Hamburger Steak, or even better, the 31 Special (which adds two eggs to the Hamburger Steak.) My daughters love the Menudo, and my wife could eat the buttered bread (bolillo) that comes with each bowl all day, everyday.
Five stars for the service as well. It helps to have the owner right at the griddle making sure the staff is on top of it at any time, which they are: coffee refills, extra bread, special requests... And don't forget the jukebox full of classics (at no cost!)
Don't expect two Michelin stars, heck, not even one. Expect good, wholesome food, relatively low prices, and a great atmosphere.
