I let him know that I didn't have any knowledge of how the house-buying process works, but he was incredibly supportive and assured me he would walk me through every step. Shortly after we finished talking on the phone, he sent me a list of items to provide for the pre-approval letter. Trung's turnaround was quick. I sent him my information in the evening and got the letter the next morning. My real estate agent used this letter to draft the offer...it was accepted! After my offer was accepted, the rest of the process was somewhat nebulous, but my real estate agent worked closely with Trung to help me through. Trung was with me every step of the way. He patiently explained how my monthly mortgage payment and closing costs were calculated and even helped me negotiate a home insurance offer. He even kept a close eye on the market and advised me when I should lock in the rate. Unfortunately, this was not the case with a recent home purchase. The escrow ended up taking much longer than anyone wanted. During the back and forth with the previous owner of the home I was able to get a 5,000 reduction in the final sale price. As we were set to close, after all the back and forth and signing of documents, I noticed that the loan amount did not match the price I agreed to purchase the home at. I brought this to the attention of Alpine, and everyone else but it seemed like nobody could explain how this happened nor wanted to take responsibility for the error. After countless calls into the office without any kind of explanation or resolution I was left with having to move forward and pay the incorrect / higher price for the home. I was truly baffled how this many people could have missed a 5,000 discrepancy. To make matters worse--I was unable to even speak to anyone at Alpine. No one would take my countless calls. I emailed and called over and over again and at one point I was left on hold by no less than 3 different people in the office (for almost an hour) only to be told the person who was handling my paperwork was "not available" for the rest of the day. I still have a 750.00 discrepancy that my loan officer, my realtor or anyone else can understand but I have just given up dealing with Alpine Escrow. This is a small community and it is rather unfortunate to have to be subjected to such a frustrating experience that seemed completely avoidable.

They were truly exceptional from start to finish. Initially, I began my loan process with a close friend ("Broker A") who has over 30 years of experience in the mortgage industry and had successfully helped several of my friends in the past. However, after a week and a half, I still hadn't received a formal rate quote, and a few early missteps left me concerned about the direction of the loan -- concerns that, later on, could have cost me the house. Feeling uneasy, I reached out to another highly recommended broker ("Broker B") from my best friend, who has bought and refinanced over ten properties. Broker B was more efficient than Broker A, but after a week, his offered rate was 7.02%, compared to Broker A's 6.98%. Rate aside, I still didn't feel confident moving forward with either option. I expressed my concerns to my real estate agent, Fred Wilson from Capitis Real Estate, who recommended Marvin Hudson at Viewpoint Financial. I called Marvin at 4:30 PM on a Monday, and after providing him with the necessary information, he promised to get back to me within a few hours.
