WOW!!!!! Julia just sent me about 100 photos that she edited down from her photo shoot with us and our 6 month twin girls. I can't even begin to tell you how sweet they are. I am shocked - SHOCKED - at how accommodating, professional, and warm Julia O. Test was with my very demanding headshot situation. I basically had put them off for ages and suddenly was presented with a situation where I needed some to email folks immediately. A mutual friend recommended Julia and this favor was heaven-sent. Julia did my maternity shoot a few weeks ago and the pictures came out beautifully! Julia was great about letting me know what prep needed to be done beforehand, and was super prompt on the day of the shoot. We started in the park by my house and she was magically able to make me look like some nature goddess instead of the "OMG SPIDERS" person that I really am. Julia is my wedding photographer for next year (Feb 2016) and this review is on the engagement photoshoot we did back in Sept 2015. I had been following Julia's work on Instagram for about a year and actually never knew she did wedding photography until I went to her blog. Her editorial portfolio is just incredible AMAZE-BALLS, just not my wedding style. I picked Julia first and foremost based on her natural and photojournalistic style as showcased in her wedding portfolio. Julia provided excellent communication. We had an initial face-to-face meeting to discuss services and our expectations. Initially I didn't want to do traditional engagement photos. I had an idea to do a city hall shoot for the day we would go in to get our marriage license signed. Julia was excited for this idea. Unfortunately my fiancé was not supportive, we scratched that idea and after a few email exchanges we scheduled the engagement photo session. Julia solicited us for our preferred locations. My fiancé and I each had different spots and she was able to accommodate us for two locations. My fiancé and I loved our images. Julia has a great eye for composition, which IMO is most important in 2D art. I got exactly the beautiful lighting/ filter effects in these shots. I loved that we looked like ourselves but just a bit better. Some of the shots we're a bit squinty due to the angle of the sun. My fiancé and I loved the candid shots. Julia directed us to various set/locations and let us goof around, following with her camera. We think as a couple we're much better at being naturally silly then "lovey-dovey" looking. We did a few posed shots. Julia gave clear directions such as "relax my neck", "lean back , "put some space between you two". However in reviewing the photos, I think my fiancé needed more reminders to be less like a wooden block and I also needed more help is posing. Julia took this critique well and I feel satisfied that our artist-model relationship has good communication. Her turn-around time was lightning fast, I think it was less than a week! I am really excited for our wedding day when Julia plus 2nd shooter will document all the little moments. read more

We had the BEST experience with Julia when she took some anniversary photos of my husband and I last week. We were visiting San Fransisco and weren't really sure where to do our photos.
