This is a long due review. We had the pleasure of working with James for our wedding photos in 2023. James was absolutely the hardest working vendor at our wedding. He arrived on time and worked his camera tirelessly for almost 10 hours capturing our entire wedding. He even kneeled on the ground to take many of our photos which to this day we are still amazed by his professionalism. Great work ethic as well. You would think for a 10 hr event, many photographers would take several breaks but not James. He took so many photos and urged us to take more pictures. Communication was fast, responsive and stress free. We were very comfortable with him on our big day as well as for our engagement photos. The only thing I would mention is to practice poses ahead of time, some were a little repetitive and lacked the "instagram wow" feel but if you're someone not good with posing, James will give suggestions so don't worry. The best part is you get to keep all of the photos not just the selected edited ones. I now realized not all photographers will give you the entire gallery which would be a huge disappointment for your big day. I like his editing style which is realistic and authentic with enhanced color. As many mentioned, turn around time was super fast. Neither of us are particularly comfortable in front of the camera. After interviewing 5 different photographers, we knew from our first conversation that James was the one. He is incredibly friendly, easy going, and knowledgeable. We agreed to do an engagement session, 1 location for 90mins to see if we'd be comfortable working with James. It couldn't have gone better. Initially, we were a bit stiff, but James gave us tips on how to act naturally, suggested poses and hand positions that made us feel and look relaxed. The time flew by and we actually ended up going to a second location with a wardrobe change. Overall, it was about 2 hours. James did not mind at all. In fact, he probably could've gone longer if the sun hadn't set on us! Our photos were edited and received in less than 2 weeks! James was kind enough to print a large poster and sign that shipped to our house in just a few days. He price matched any package/prints from other photographers. Having gone through our engagement session seamlessly, we hired James to shoot our wedding as well. He and an assistant were on site for 10 hours, tending to our every need and keeping us on our timeline. After our planned family/wedding party photos, we hardly even noticed them working as we proceeded with wedding events. After the wedding, we received many compliments on how great James was and several guests asked for his contact information. Within a couple of days, we received a preview of about 20 photos highlighting our big day. We were thrilled! Every important moment was captured so elegantly! The full magazine of photos was available for download in about 1 month. James then worked with us to print a high quality photo book for our coffee table. Great experiences! We did two photoshoots with James in 2023. The first shoot was my family of 4 and he was able to work really well with two toddlers. The second shoot was a bigger group of 7 adults and 3 toddlers. James was able to organize and photograph us all in bigger groups as well as smaller ones. Exceeded expectations in every way. James took graduation and family photos for my sister in law last year, and I was amazed at the results. So, when my partner proposed to me, I did not hesitate to book a shoot with him. The booking process was quick and easy. James is familiar with some of the best photo spots in LA/OC, and the best times to shoot at them. We met at 6:45am at a spot in Laguna Beach. The light was perfect, and there was no one around. We shot for about 90 minutes, and had so much fun walking around the beach and chatting with James. He is very laid back and personable. Our shoot was on Tuesday, and I received the finished photos in an online gallery on Wednesday evening. The gallery was easy to navigate, select our favorites, and download/share the photos. James was very responsive to my inquiries, laying out details on what services they offer, the pricing options, and the timing that was available to me, and much more. Beside responding via yelp and texts, he took time to talk through things with me on the phone without even having secured me as a customer; both him and Taylor, in fact, jumped on a call and talked through everything for 30 minutes. The best I got from other photographers was a half-ass yelp response with nothing more. Secondly, their pricing is very fair and reasonable. Where do I start???? We called James to schedule an appointment for our Christmas pictures. This year was different than most. This year we had three children under the age of five.
