I've had a very active and good life until a few years ago. Mountains and skiing every week in winter, working full time in Manhattan and commenting daily. Back pain and a balance problem made surgery at Columbia Hospital a must. I was advised by the lead surgeon that if I didn't have surgery, I wouldn't be walking at all. I had a Total Hip Replacement in January and started my PT a couple of weeks post surgery. I am 68 and live an active lifestyle, playing tennis or riding my bike everyday. I found Julie's PT Practice when i googled Physical Therapists in my Bergen County location. I selected Julie based on her training in Orthopedics at Columbia, and her participation in College Athletics and USTA Tennis. I knew that she knew what I wanted to achieve with PT. I just concluded my three months of PT with Julie and my sessions with her have been integral to my recovery. First of all, Julie has her practice set up in a lovely room in her home. Doing PT in a private setting was an unexpected luxury. There were no distractions, noises, or inhibitions to my attempts to achieve results in the program. And then there's Julie. She is a wonderful combination of competent, compassionate and careful in her care. PT is hard work and not always comfortable but Julie makes the road to rehabilitation pleasurable. Julie has all of the equipment and more that you would expect in a large PT facility. All of this in a lovely intimate at home environment. Every session with Julie was unique. Julie includes Dry Needle Therapy in her therapy. Taking advantage of Julie's training in Dry Needling was another unexpected discovery which aided my rehab. My hip feels great. And all of the muscle memory and strength building is leading me back to a pain free active lifestyle. As soon as I finish this review I will be heading out to play tennis. To be honest, I always thought physical therapists were similar to those glorified 'trainers' at big box gyms who just follow a cookie-cutter guidebook, but Julie shattered that image. She is a *phenomenal* physical therapist, and keeps an incredibly beautiful and clean home studio. The whole experience was different than any other clinical doctor. She's warm and compassionate, while being knowledgeable and intelligent. She listened to me patiently as I described my issue, and in 10 seconds she knew what the problem was. She confirmed her analysis with a thorough checkup, and explained in detail what was happening to my body. We then proceeded with some exercises, and she gave me my homework. She then followed up a few days later to see how I was doing. Outstanding experience! She never tried to hard-sell for more sessions, even though she easily could have. And now, a few months later, my back feels MUCH better. I'm back at the gym without fear! read more

Julie is the best ! My 82 year old mom fractured her hip, and had surgery to repair. I disliked the home-care PT people assigned from the rehab facility. After some careful research I found a great PT therapist who comes to the home !!! Julie encourages and works with the person. It is a true gift to work with the elderly and to get them up and about again. I was thinking the worst when my mom fractured her hip but Julie gives me hope and confidence that my Mom will be ok in no time. And it's great that she comes to the home !!! read more

I would give five more stars if they were there. Julie is everything the reviewers say. She goes way beyond just what the prescription says and sees the whole body. Julie solved a neuropathy problem for me which five drs. could not. (three podiatrists, a neurologist, and a family dr.) She gave me exactly the toe exercises I needed to free the trapped nerve, and the neuropathy went away. read more

Julie is the gold standard of physical therapy; I want to sing her praises from a mountain top, but I will have to settle for giving an online review :) . Julie's office is special. It isn't a clinical setting with a factory, assembly line outlook on patients. Instead, it is a warm environment with an individual focus. Julie spends entire sessions with one client. She is a thoughtful, attentive, extremely intelligent problem solver who looks at situations closely and carefully. She spends time both in session and out of session to develop appropriate techniques for each patient and continues to evaluate patient status as time goes on, creating new approaches as appropriate. Julie collaborates with the medical team, speaking with other healthcare professionals (MDs, RNs, etc.) when needed, and makes recommendations for patient care beyond her office when she sees fit. Billing is a breeze, and all sessions are submitted to your insurance on your behalf. I have a complicated medical situation with multiple chronic illnesses as a result of an unfortunate event; I knew I needed a special physical therapist, and did research before walking into Julie's office, but I did't realize just how amazing she was until I began working with her. Julie was able to assess my condition, make recommendations to see medical specialists which resulted in finding additional diagnoses, and collaborate with my physicians. I'm a sophomore in high school, and a soccer player. In October of last year I tore my ACL playing, and was in need of a physical therapist to help me recover and gain back strength. The seven months of help, care, workouts, and advice from my therapist Tiffany were priceless, and I know I would never have recovered as fast as I did in another environment. The personal feel and home office are very comforting, and easily beat the fear of going to a hospital for therapy. I had the pleasure of working with all 3 physical therapists in this practice. All 3 had great work ethic and experience. I started with Julie prior to surgery, after only a few sessions, she sent me back to my orthopedist because she knew I had other issues. She was correct and after shoulder surgery I saw Tiffany and Ray. Both were great and had me back in shape in no time. I have a FT job, plus a very phyical job at UPS, I had to be in top shape in a small amount of time. They did their best and worked me hard to get just that. I don't have alot of free time and they did everything in their power to see me on my schedule, even if it meant a Saturday or Sunday! I highly reccommend @Home PT.
