Popcorns everywhere!…read more Landmark Cinemas in south London provided a good movie experience. It featured 8 theatre rooms within a colourful retro interior. There is a concession immediately past the entrance and large popcorn refill for their members and they were willing to provide smaller bags. The actual movie audio/visual experience was great. The big screen is huge compared to smaller independent theatre chains (Imagine), and has no reflective glare for better picture quality. The reclined lounge seats are comfortable and make for decent view even near the front. Interestingly, we noticed there were premiere seats with recliners paired side-by-side within a partition for couples viewing. Their Movie Club membership included a movie admission each month, concession discount and waived online booking fee. Only blemish was the popcorn spread over the concession floor that no one seemed to be assigned to sweep away. A seating area is available to wait before showtime as staff cleaned up the theatre room. Skip it or hit it? It's worth coming for a comfortable movie showing especially if you overlook the popcorn strewn over the floor.

But really, this movie theatre has sat there and sat there for the longest time. It couldn't compete with the big guy Cineplex, and it wasn't kitschy like the downtown Rainbow (come on, you cant resist that sexy bear painting). I'm so happy that Landmark took this spot and turned it into something London didn't have. A full theatre based around amazing and comfortable reserved seating. That's a bingo! We went to see the Revenant and to my surprise, we went to order tickets for a Wednesday night and the theatre was almost sold out completely! We opted for the Thursday night instead. We purchased our tickets online, and printed them off. The guy at the booth scanned them (apparently he has been there for ages, everyone knows him!) and we were on our way. The concession stand had tons of candy options! Not only that, but they had normal sized candy you could buy for $2.50. They had bigger options but sometimes you just want a regular box of Smarties and be done with it. Amirite? The guy serving us asked us what were seeing and we chatted about how we didn't like Hateful Eight (sorry QT, I'm sorry). This was nice! I like the personable experience. The ONLY thing I have to say about this entire experience, is do not sit where we sat. I dont know if this is applicable to all auditoriums but in #2, we sat in G 9&10. This was right next to the doors. There is one set of doors to the outside, and then another set of doors to the theatre. They shut the doors to the outside but not the ones to the hallway, where there is a light. Luckily I had a hoodie on so I could hide the light that was coming in from the left side of my peripheral vision. Now this is a huge nit pick but if you are easily distracted like I am, this may not be a great experience. Nonetheless, the seats are just as amazing as all the reviews say. Comfy and recline-y. They go way back and you can put your feet up no problem with tons of room to spare for people to walk by. All and all, I would give this theatre a shot if you haven't. It isn't what it used to be! It was unexpected that I had a phenomenal private tour of the lighthouse by the Lighthouse Keeper…read more The keeper was personable, passionate about her work, friendly, and patience with all the questions I had. We started the tour with an explanation of the lightbulbs; usage, changes, etc. Then we talked about the different Lighthouse Keepers - their histories and experiences. We then visited different houses to see how life was to be a Lighthouse Keeper. I enjoyed the Lighthouse Keeper's house the best. I was able to touch things, see old appliances and got to see all the rooms in the house. Lastly, it was the tour of the lighthouse. I wasn't going to walk the narrow spiral staircase but the Keeper insisted that I can take my time walking (I use a cane to walk) up. When we reached the top, fog was rolling in. However, I still had beautiful views. I was able to walk around the top and the walk gave me a sense what life was like for the Lighthouse Keeper. This is an experience I won't forget to actually be at the top of the lighthouse.

The recliners work quietly and smoothly, and I've never had a problem with the reserved seating. The staff at the snack counter are friendly and efficient. In general it's a bit older and some of the new theatre gloss has worth off, but I like this place a lot and I'll definitely be back. On a personal note, this is the last place I saw my sister-in-law before she died unexpectedly. We saw Wonder Woman together. Because of that I'll always think this place is just a bit special.

It makes me wish more theatres would adopt this standard. The new seats are like business class airplane seats which an electric recline that triggers at the push of a button. I would give it five stars, except some of the actual film screens still have the marks and tears of yesteryear. Hopefully these will be replaced soon as well.

I would highly recommend stopping by if you are doing a road trip in Southwestern Ontario, whether for Stratford, KW region, or Elora/Fergus. You can't help but admire the engineering and beauty of the structure. It's an excellent photo spot but you should be aware of the cars coming in and out. It is kind of wobbly as you drive through the bridge across the Grand River. Please park your vehicle at Letson Park (free), which is only 1 minute walk from the bridge. I met a beautiful and friendly tabby cat, "Sandy" that most likely lives nearby. Please be careful when you drive and say hi to her when you visit!

I honestly didn't have high hopes for a covered bridge. But I'm also a sucker for history and this bridge didn't disappoint. It's tucked away on a private residential street, so it feels like you are uncovering a small town secret. It's a busy spot, so if you're looking to take some photos for the gram, you'll have to snap them quick! There were many people in the area and walking through the bridge as well as cars coming and going. It's also known as the Kissing Bridge but I don't want to spoil more of the stats and history for you. If you are in the Waterloo region, perhaps visiting the St. Jacobs Farmers Market, I would encourage you to stop here and enjoy this little piece of history. Parking: You can park on the side you initially drive up to (very limited spots) and walk through the bridge, or you can drive through and park on the opposite side where there is a larger parking lot.
