This is THE BEST place to work out in ALL of Shreveport-Bossier! And NO, you don't have to be a student or an alum (although, I am an alum-I went to grad school here, and got my master's-Can I get a, "What? What?") All you have to do, as with any gym scenario, is get a membership and pay by the month. They do auto-drafts out of your checking account. This gym is somewhat famous, as it makes an appearance in the excellent film "Shark Night", which was shot entirely in Shreveport, and shows a TON of Centenary footage, including hot starlet Sara Paxton getting her workout on, in this very facility (not to be creepy, but she sweated on the machines here!...Okay, that is a little creepy...sorry.) This gym has it all! Olympic-sized swimming pool for lap after lap a la' Michael Phelps-check! Six indoor basketball goals and basketballs to borrow with i.d.-check! Racquetball-check! Nautilus and free-weights galore-check! An indoor running track-check! Student trainers on deck for any needed assistance-check! A good, safe, secure, unintimidating, harassment-free place to get your healthy on, for both men and women-CHECK! I used to be a trainer back in the day, at one of those 'roided-out, tanning bed, hook up, look good, put-on-a-show type places, and I can tell you that this place is far from that, and that's a good thing. My workouts here combined with my newfound anti-inflammatory diet (check it out online, look under True Foods, Dr. Andrew Weil) and I am really seeing results! I LOVE this gym! LOVE it! The only down side for some people, but not for me, is that this place is NOT 24 hours, and it may be on the pricey side ($45/month per the individual, $75/month for families) You get what you pay for here! They ARE open for most of the duration during school holidays, so there is nothing to worry about there, either.

Because he was swim team competitor, advanced for his age, the last summer he was there, she allowed him to participate in the Jr. Lifeguard classes with some older swimmers. She actually encouraged him to participate to give him the head start in learning lifeguarding skills and techniques. Gina and her staff were very professional and VERY nice. When I would call to enroll with her before the summer sessions, she would always patient in working with helping me weave a swim class into his busy little daily summer camp/activity schedule and appropriate for his skill level. The pricing was fair. The few times I was able to be in town and sit with the other parents and watch classes, Gina came out and spoke with me about my little ones progress, sharing her observations and making suggestions, as busy as she was. Yes, I can be "one of those" parents if things seem "suspect" regarding the children in my fold, but I never felt any kind of way with Gina, nor her staff. Highly recommended for youth swim. Love Gina.

The bank of machines includes a large amount of Magnum-branded equipment, along with a few Hammer Strength pieces mixed in. What really stood out to me was the fact that 4 of their 6 straight bars are 29mm Texas Power Bars -- a detail that sets this gym apart in my opinion. The staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming.
