Made the trip after hearing about this place. It's a rural bar & grill, with a bar and attached dining room of good size. There are lots of mounted deer heads and other critters. The menu is basic but complete, with the usual north woods staples. I ordered the smoked special with pork. It was a nice crusty bun loaded with pork. Cole slaw, beans, and deep fried corn on the cob completed the plate. I never thought of deep frying corn on the cob, but it was very tasty. The place was busy on an early Saturday afternoon, and there was only one server working the dining room. She was hustling and the kitchen was jumping so the wait wasn't bad. I will mention that the place is for sale, and the owners are looking to step back after 38 years. It's a good place and we're looking forward to coming back on a Sunday for chicken dinner! read more

Probably the best Sunday Chicken Dinner in the Northwoods. Great to see how busy they were with all the Customers just not enough staff. Love the ambiance with all the animal mounts. Suggestion to take out the Pool table at times like this and replace with another high top table to seat six. You'll earn more money in those seats than the pool table. Cheers! read more

Jungle Jim's has been our "go to" for food and drink for over 2 decades. The food has always been excellent. In fact I can honestly say that we have never had a bad meal there. The owners are the best in the business and it has been a wonderful place to meet and socialize. All of our family members love going to "the Jungle" when they come to visit. I love Jungle Jims! Definitely a vibe. They kept the kitchen open past their closing time multiple times when we called ahead letting them know we'll be a bit late. The Wildman crew always orders a lot and are easy to please with good chicken. They have the best honey siracha and bbq chicken wings I've ever had. My coworkers and I order nearly every wing wednesday and its always so tasty for a decent price. Their burgers and fries are pretty good too! read more

The friendliest place in the Wisconsin North woods. From the moment you walk through the door you are greeted by the owner and his wife like you're old friends. The menu is mostly sandwiches and burgers, but they are amazing. There is also a smokehouse menu to die for. If you like smoked meat this is a must try. The owner also makes his own sauces and the homemade beans are out of this world. Just be careful of their sizes, we ordered a small smokehouse nacho and it was huge, but very tasty. We came to Jungle Jim's for taco Thursday. Al welcomed us in and remembered me from the last time I was there.The atmosphere was warm, fun and inviting and the food was awesome!!! We started with a sampler of brisket, burnt ends and beer battered mushrooms. We then, had ground beef and chicken tacos. We loved everything!!! The food was awesome, along with everything else. Beef brisket had a good smokey flavor but was dry-thankful for the creamy coleslaw & bbq sauce! Bbq sauce is homemade & great flavor. My friend had the chicken dinner-also fry due to over cooked. And the gravy served with mashed potatoes was a dark brown beef gravy that didn't match well with the chicken. Super friendly staff and clean place. Good for a quick bite. read more

The food wasnt bad, though they were sold out of everything our group of 4 wanted to order. It was the end of memorial day weekend, so that is forgivable. But the service was awful. First, the waitress didnt tell us things were sold out when she seated us so when we ordered we found out everything we wanted was sold out. Wanted to order a beer, but I like to try something new, when asked what beers they had the waitress said to many to list, I should say what I want and she will tell me if they have it. Hard to do when I want to try something new. So I asked what they had for a certain type of beer, to which the response was "I'm not 21 so I dont know" ive had plenty of waitresses under 21 that could answer that question because they knew the menu. My mom wanted to order a flavored margarita, got the same answer when she asked what flavors they had "to many to list, tell me what you want and ill tell you if we have it" turns out they didnt have any flavors besides lime. The owners are so nice, she tends bar and he does all the cooking. When you drive up you can smell the smokers going. My favorite is the beef brisket, my husbands is the BBQ pork. Best brisket of my whole life, great coleslaw and beans. Very friendly and efficient waitress, very nice owner & bartender, had a great time and all of my friends also had excellent meals. We've had many a sandwich, burger, and Sunday breakfast, but just never had the brisket. Something on menu for everyone, appetizers, kids stuff, stuff to do in summer, place to hang your helmut when you snowmobile.
