I love my apartment, the floor plan, the view, and everything about it. The community is very clean, comfortable, and social, without being sterile or full of fake-manufactured "resident culture." Price-wise, it's on the expensive side for complexes of this age, especially considering that most apartments are not updated and many countertops, floors, appliances, etc. haven't been changed since the 90s-2000s. But compared to other buildings on strictly a price-per-square-foot basis, the pricing is comparable to buildings that are not as well maintained. I pay $1,900 a month for an 1,100 square-foot 2BR 2BA + Den apartment with in-unit laundry, balcony, french doors, bay window, ensuite bath, and underground parking. Resident staff is AMAZING! Most of the staff live on site and maintenance is top-notch - responsive, fast, and thorough. Office staff is always reachable and responsive. I feel that they are responsive to everyone and know long-time residents well. However, they lack flexibility when it comes to certain things like pro-rated rent, pet deposits, etc. Sometimes it can feel like they are nickel and diming you. Amenities are decent - serviceable but unremarkable. The pool was recently redone as well as the clubhouse, but I rarely use those amenities. Common areas are super clean and well maintained. No stinky apartment hallway smells and no throat-choking air freshener clouds. TL;dr - highly recommended west metro gem of a complex. If you're looking for luxury, there are other options. But if you want spacious, clean, well-maintained apartments with beautiful grounds, amenities, and apartment features like in-unit laundry, you'll get it at a good price at Oaks Lincoln.

If you have a car in the garage you'll pay $75 a month for it to get dripped on and the garage always floods. If you like hearing the people pissing above you, you might like it here! This building always smells like tobacco smoke. Seems like cheap living but oh my god you deal with the dumbest things. Management is literally no help. Laundry is expensive and worthless. Tenants are racist and irresponsible. Trash is everywhere. I wouldn't recommend anyone living here.

For 3 years 5 roommates and I rented a home from Go Gopher Rentals. The home we rented was only a…read moreyear old so it was nice, modern, clean, and had little to no issues. Matt Kraft and his team have been great to work with and have been very accommodating. Because we released, Matt let us keep our original security deposit and allowed us to keep our rent the same the last 2 years. Our lease was fair and clear and over the 3 years we have never had any issues with it. After graduating, my roommates moved on to other housing options but actually decided to resign with Go Gopher Rentals a year later when we started grad school because of our great experience with them! The Go Gopher Rental team has always been respectful when visiting our home, they are easy to reach, and always responded to maintenance requests in a timely manner (from light bulbs out to a leaky sink and a malfunctioning dishwasher to name a few). I would say one of our few complaints would be house showings. Before we resigned our second and third years, our house was being shown multiple times month, often during exam weeks and other inconvenient times and we were not always warned 24 hours in advanced, which was sometimes frustrating for a house full of girls with varying work and school schedules. But if that is our biggest complaint, I would say they have done a pretty good job. I know I have heard horror stories from neighboring leasing companies and as long as you are respectful of your home and lease, you will have no problems with Go Gopher Rentals!

All they ever really cared about was collecting money and avoiding repair and maintenance calls or emails till they couldn't dodge the issue. Last year when I was relocating from Los Angeles to Minneapolis I only had two days to find an apartment. I was being rejected from all of them because I didn't have a 730 credit score due to some student loans and medical bills. When I was about to give up and go back to Cali I got a call from Tom Stutsman wondering if I was still looking for an apartment? I told him "yes!I was", but I told him my credit is a work in progress and not high... He said let me guess "Student Loans and Medical Bills"?I said "Yes"! and he told me he didn't care about that stuff and as long as I'm a nice person that's all he looks for... next day I looked at the apartment. I ended up dropping the deposit the next day and had the lease signed before I Flew back to Los Angeles. It all happened so fast and easy. Tom even had the lights turned on for me in my name when I arrived. Any time I had a repair issue, even emailing him late at night they would be taking care of it first thing in the morning. Tom's work ethic is unprecedented and within minutes of talking to him you can tell he radiates a passion for what he does. If I'm ever back in Minneapolis the only person I will call is Tom Strutsman. Thanks Tom for all that you do!

Not good, not bad, just fine. The apartment itself is less than 2 years old, and the walls and tile are cracking from nothing more than a settling foundation. Literally, the walls in the bedroom have a thick crack running across all the corners, and the bathroom and hallway tile are cracking (new this year). They'll email you "no party" reminders several days before each big UMN event, but you will never receive 24 hour notice before maintenance or management enters your apartment for a tour or maintenance. I've never received notice within business hours, and sometimes they will just knock on your door and ask to do a tour without ANY prior notice. They also ONLY email me; never my roommate. I'm a pretty clean person, but I don't always have a 100% spotless apartment. I don't feel comfortable having strangers in my home without time to wash last night's dishes or put away my valuables. I also don't like kennel my pet for an entire work day, and they never arrive at a convenient time. I have come out of the shower to find a stranger in my apartment, which is especially unacceptable to me as a college age woman. I've come home from the grocery store to find my fridge unplugged and moved away from the wall with no indication of how long it had been without power. Parts were sawed out of my car while parked on the street directly outside my building. My father parked on the street for less than 15 minutes to come see my apartment and someone keyed his vehicle. They advertise cameras, but the "live feed" only captures the parking lot and doesn't work most of the time (I've never gotten it to work). The train is SUPER LOUD. It WILL wake you up. Besides the extremely poor communication with management, low quality building, and unsafe location, it's a fine apartment. Far better than my previous landlord. They do respond to your emails and phone calls, and our one maintenance request was addressed within 2 weeks. But at $1,300 a month for a small 1br1ba, things haven't been as incredible as I had hoped. They also do not accept online rent payment. The shower gets clogged by soap and conditioner alone, and there is no garbage disposal in the sink. The apartments have a lot of windows and good sunlight. The in-unit laundry works well and does not rip clothing. The showers have good water pressure. If you don't mind having little-to-none privacy and don't have a car, this is a fine company to rent from. They give you a "prior damages" form, and they do complete maintenance requests. They just have cracking buildings and lack communication or respect for residents.

Kitchen was a rather small workspace for the aspiring hearts if those who love to cook, but most apartments are anyways. Nice size bedrooms, master bedroom also had the second entrance to the patio. Akward living room layout but spacious once you figure out your setup. Neighbors were quiet, management was kinda rude but the people were nice. Laundry rooms on each floor and a vending machine for pop and candy or snacks on second floor. Underground garage and nice sized back yard for kids to play. Was a really nice apartment!
