As I was looking through some picture frames. She informed me that Jack ( her boyfriend) was in the back. As I headed towards the counter He (Jack) came charging towards me yelling and screaming at me saying I was a thief and I had but some items in my pockets. He shouted at me to live the store because I come in the store to steal things. I watched him follow Hispanics around the store and after they leave call them derogatory names. I was told by an employee that he refers to Black people as Ns. To my surprise, the owner Sheri, told me to leave the store. I called the police while I was in the store. I waited outside for the officers to arrive. I was instructed to leave the store. This guy is clearly unstable and a racist which is a dangerous combination. He has asked me, for drugs because people like me (Black) should know. I am no Rosa Parks, so I left the store. It is sad that in 2020 I have to teach my Grandkids about being a minority in the south. I would not enter this store again even if they were giving away everything for free!!!

I wanted live edge wood shelves for my great room and had an idea on the size and materials I wanted. Eric at Rife drew up a sketch, helped me pick out a nice slab of wood for the shelves, and Tim constructed it! And with the left over wood from the slab I chose, they built a nice little live edge table! I am happy that Rife is literally just up the road from me and constantly has different things to consider.

Their prices are pretty competitive and reasonable. Most of the babies to kids clothes were only $2-$3 bucks and the adults range from $4-$15 depending on the items. They also have a program where you can donate items and get up to 10% off your total purchase. This non profit business services all of North Ga and the local communities. Everything you'll see and find here are in great condition, from name brand clothing to working and tested appliances and electronics. But more importantly and most amazing, is what the PIER Foundation does! The PIER Foundation gives job opportunities and provides job training for adults with disabilities. This sometimes forgotten people of our world are given the ability to work and earn a living by doing what they can at the store! More then half of the employees are adults with disabilities that refuse to let the minor setback of a medical condition hold them back from living the best life possible. I cannot think of a better place to give, donate or support then The PIER Foundation Thrift Store.

A young woman calmly pointed out that they were selling hate memorabilia from World War II, and instead of showing even a shred of responsibility or decency, the owners brushed her off and practically shoved her out the door. They didn't care. Not one bit. They stood there defending the garbage they were selling -- fake propaganda rooted in racism and violence -- as if it was no big deal. It is a big deal. It's hateful, it's offensive, and it's a slap in the face to anyone who has served or had family who served in that war. How on earth are we still living in a country where a business can openly profit from hate and pretend it's harmless? Shame on this store, shame on the owners, and shame on anyone who thinks selling racist, hateful items is acceptable in 2026.
