This thrift store is amazing!…read more Not only is it entirely volunteer run, but all of their items are fair priced and organized wonderfully! Tons of selection such as dishes, books, clothing, jewelry, toys, shoes and so much more! The pricing reminded me of many thrift shops I went to when growing up so it was definitely nostalgic walking in here! All the volunteer staff were super sweet, with a smile on their face and were a joy to speak with! I will be back ever so often to see what new finds I can find!

And then my most recent I went in to look for a mini crockpot to melt wax they had one when I looked at the price it was $18 which I thought was quite unreasonable I googled Walmart and they had a brand new one for $12.50 I went to the front and asked if they would take less for because I would rather give it to a good cause than a corporation and they said it's not due for markdown yet. When we met she was courteous and direct and paid careful attention to the piece I gave her to examine. She explained the significance of the maker marks, and provided a fair market valuation as well as a comprehensive insurance appraisal. When finally she arrived, she found us in the shop. We waited to hear where, in the disorganized (in the process of closing) shop we should do the appraisal, but she wanted to do it in the parking lot. She followed us to our car and started "appraising" things right there at our opened trunk. We requested that we find a place out of the hot sun inside to spread out our belongings, and then we spent the next ten minutes wandering, looking for a space. When finally we squeezed into a corner somewhere, Selma began looking at our belongings. She looked at an ivory netsuke, told us that it was made of resin and therefore valueless. We told her that it was very old, and we were sure it was ivory, so again she picked it up and looked at it for a long, long time, finally pronouncing: yes, it is ivory. She looked at a Navajo blanket but had no clue. I told her that a seller out west had offered to sell it on consignment; she was scornful of that ("What? He expects you to mail it???") but had no suggestions or price ideas. She looked at a large Persian rug and told us that we should have it looked at by a rug expert, and she had one in mind, if only she could remember who it was.... and on and on it went in this fashion. She looked at an intricate antique clock, previously appraised professionally as having a value of $5,000. But because it wasn't signed, she said that it was impossible to assign a value. Apparently a lack of signature, in her world, means that she is helpless. Finally the appraisal was over (with not a single helpful thing having occurred). She informed us that she would charge us only for one hour, since she had been late. Her saying this made me assume we'd gone over an hour--but as she walked away we consulted our watches, and discovered that she'd been with us exactly one hour, much of that time standing in the parking lot and wandering about the shop looking for a place to spread out. So she actually overcharged us. I cannot recommend this appraiser--she had an appalling lack of knowledge and was just unprofessional overall.

If I could give this place a zero star I would. The staff women with the long white/gray hair…read moreprovided me with the worst customer service ever. She actually discriminatated against my 3 pound service animal. I walk in the store and admittedly she says " oh no he has to go " this was when two other customers said aww he is so cute. She did not ask was he a service. I then showed her his card which was very visible in lanyard around my neck. Her reply was where is his vest. For those like her that do not know The ADA does not require service animals to wear a vest, ID tag, or specific harness. Speak of the lack of training or empathy. Furthermore if she would have asked me before her attack she would have avoided this review and perhaps gained a customer. I am ok with her not understanding I am just not ok with her making a disturbing scene. I can not help my disability but I hope I can help the next person from shopping there and feeling completely appalled and dealing with discrimination. My best friend and protector is a under weight teacup poodle. She should be ashamed for that kind of an outburst.
