I hope they are using Ebay prices for items that actually sold, not what are being asked It is staffed by all volunteers and last year they gave $1 million to the Hill Country Youth Ranch. That sounds like a lot but given expenses have been exceeding revenue by over $1 million a year the Youth Ranch Foundation continues to cover it but their money won't last for ever. I have friends who moved to the Big Springs Ranch for Children in Leaky which is part of HCYR to be volunteer live in grand parents. Beautiful setting with a working ranch, charter school and chapel but I believe only 2 of their 6 cabins are in use now. It's hard to get staff when you are that far from a good sized town.

Our family has attended St. Peter's for many years. But specifically my connection with The Cottage Shop is that my beloved Grandmother 'worked' there as a volunteer. When I'm gathering together donations, the finest and best quality donations I save for The Cottage Shop! It is well worth your time to head over to Tivy and Main to have a look! But be sure to check on the hours of operation before you go. As it's run on volunteer power, not open every day.

This shop features unique items like Zippo lighters with service insignias, model boats like a Cutty Sark, books, records, clothing, tools and various art objects, baseball cards, pictures all at very reasonable prices! I've visited just about every thrift and antique shop in the hill country area, but this is the only thrift shop I visit on a near-weekly basis, simply because it's such a pleasant shopping experience.
