I contacted this company on a Sunday and to my surprise a very nice gentleman answered. I needed services to clean my critically ill husband's apartment. He was kind and courteous, gave me a quote. We set up a date and time. The team called 1/2 hour before arrival as promised and took everything including junk and items to go to charities. I have used Junk King's services here in Dayton multiple times, and the staff are friendly courteous and caring. The first time I used them was during cleaning out a house of a deceased friend. As this was a sad time, the guys were respectful but worked very quickly to help us clean out the house. They made short work of the task and the price was very reasonable. I have used them a few times since then and they showed up exactly when anticipated, give an accurate estimate and work well. The scheduling process is super easy. You get $20 off if you schedule online & it only takes 2 minutes. They only need a 24 hour notice. On the day of the appointment they called about 15 minutes in advance and arrived in a timely manner. Two guys showed up to tear down my 14' x 16' shed and haul it away. They didn't use any heavy equipment so the yard stayed in tact. They just used hammers, axes and a dolly to transport the materials to the truck. The shed was located in the very rear of my property & I have almost an acre. They leave the truck parked on the street, so they had a bit of walking to do making several trips back & forth to the truck. About half way through they had to go dump the contents of the truck because it was too full, which took about an hour. From arrival to departure it took about 5 1/2 hours, which was a bit longer than expected, but was fine. They did a great job. Pleased with the service. read more

A crew of two came to our home today and cleared out our basement. A large projection tv and an oversized treadmill were lugged up from the basement after previous attempts to do so by us ended with no results. They were committed to getting the job done even though it was a physical challenge. They took pains to protect our walls from damage and left the house unscathed. They did exactly what they said. I made the appointment on line in a couple minutes. They called to confirm the day before and showed up just when they said they would. We had a lot more stuff to clear out than we realized, so I called them on a Sunday to arrange a Monday morning pick up of the full dumpster and drop off of an empty. Everything went perfect. When I called this company the first time to get information I wanted to find out how they determine price, and how they determine that etc. I asked the gentleman that answered the phone, "what is your process" (regarding the entire job including price). He replied: you call, we come out, we haul it away! That they did, including items I specifically told them were remaining including: a BIBLE given to my family when my FATHER passed away and OLD family photos. When I voiced my complaint regarding this, I was advised in an email: personal items should be removed from the house before they come. What a shame they don't advise customers to remove or isolate items when they call and ask "WHAT IS YOUR PROCESS"? My advice if considering hiring someone to haul off items: Get referrals from friends & family, hire a company with older and more experienced employees, get specific details on what the employees will be doing and what you may need to do!! Unfortunately I learned the HARD WAY, and lost some VERY SPECIAL and IRREPLACEABLE items! read more

Make sure you check the truck before you begin and pay. Arrived with items already in truck and then tried to pass off full truck for at best 1/2 truck worth of boxes. If Josh doesn't do your haul away the other crew is very shady. Pete in Cincinnati is worthless to look into concerns of customers. It's worth paying the little extra for experience and professional employees with 1800GotJUNK. Plan to report along with photos taken to BBB. Regrets for ever coming back to give them another try. Hello,I fail to see the names of the 3 young men your company sent out today for Job #: JK849085 on the receipt, so I can thank them in this email. Which I want to do, because they were absolutely wonderful!I am glad I listened to Jack when i called Thursday. He suggested I not wait to schedule a pickup. He said it didn't have to be everything but making a start once I decided to do this was a positive step.Saturday morning I tortured myself thinking I was making a mistake - that it was too soon - maybe I needed to sort through things more before deciding to part with them. As soon as I got the call from them that they were minutes away, the young man making the phone call put my fears to rest. I was still apprehensive. When I saw them pull in the driveway and come up the walk, I wavered a moment. What would people think of someone who "hangs on to worthless stuff" for 10 years?All 3 were professional, considerate and understanding. When I showed them what had to be cleared out, there no groans, moans or sad faces - only a cheery assurance that they would get the job done. They gave me a price based on how much space would be required. I thought it was reasonable so I said go ahead. All I had to do was point to where things were that were going out: much of the garage on one half of the garage and items from my late husband's business. Through the entire process they were professional and courteous, even bringing to my attention things that I might not be wanting too clear out but didn't realize they were there: 2 brand new lawn chairs that I could sit out in my "new" garage and enjoy watching the world go by, a WWII relic that hung on the wall of the garage, leftover tiles from the laundry room re-tiling.It feels like my garage can breathe again. They cleared out a refrigerator that had not been opened in years and all the things piled in front of the garage service door and the electric boxes that prevented the door from being used and not allowing access to the electrical panels.They swept and cleaned up everything even mentioning to me that there had been a leak from the refrigerator.I started out being a little fearful and sad, but by the time I looked around the garage and all the clean space I was overwhelmed with joy.Thank you Junk King for your wonderful crew!
