During the move, high wind caused my front door to slam and injured a mover. I was impressed because the owner came to check on the injured associate, sent him to be checked out, and stepped in for a 9 1/2 move. That is knowing the right priorities (the staffs health) but also insuring my move still happened (I would have understood if it would have been delayed another day). This time, I thought to try ABF because they're a trustworthy freight mover Their containers come in a smaller size than those of PODS. (I'm thinking right now that two of these containers will not hold a 3 bedroom house's contents, per the quote. You can start the quote online, make changes, and even contract for help on either end. After I finished making changes, I called the company with some questions, and as well, to get the process moving. Mark picked up the phone and was friendly and answered the questions reassuringly. It went smoothly, even though I don't have an address at the other end yet. They sent some forms, including one for Gypsy Moths since I'm moving to California. I was told that they charge after they pick up the containers. They asked me to call them when I'm ready to have them picked up. This was confirmed today. There is no early, automatic pick up. However, they have a three day loading period that doesn't cost extra. If you go beyond that, they charge you a storage fee. Since I'm already going to be charged for storage, I think it doesn't matter. Last Friday, they called to set a drop-off time for Monday, and they were closer to the late end of that window, but that's fine. It's better than the Cable company arriving after you return to work, and then, complaining that *you* blew the appointment, right? The driver was friendly and asked where to put the containers. They use a large forklift to move them from the trailer to your selected location, and they have the ability to position them at any of four angles (facing garage, facing away, facing right, facing left). The documentation says to use a flat surface, but a slanted driveway is fine.

I sent my mom and boyfriend and they wouldn't release my things unless I gave an email consent. This would be a 5 star rating if my relo cube was on time for unloading. I got a courtesy call the day of arrival letting me know about the Covid procedure and to call 1 hour before arriving to give time for my cube to be brought to the unloading space. I called 2 hours ahead and after they did the Covid paper and "checked in" they had to wait another 25-30 minutes for them to bring up the cube. The cube was supposed to already be to the front. Other than that, great company and service.

They left my white suede car bed at the moving location because I couldn't break my son's bed down. My son has to sleep on the floor until i can recover the bed frame. I only gave it one star because there were two movers (they road in a red suv, behind the truck) that were very pleasant. I wasn't able to watch the movers and tell them were stuff goes and watch them load and unload the truck, but when I was able to watch I regret not having someone there with me to assist the entire move! I told one of the movers to stop holding my washer by the hot and cold water hose(s) as they were carrying it down in the basement, he thought he was going to argue with me, but he caught himself. His supervisor was with him and he said nothing to the unprofessional mover. That ignorant mover said to his supervisor "man, let's hurry up and get out of here." This mover felt that I was being mean and he thought it was something about him. I am not in the business of stroking movers egos, they were there to do a job and I expected professional movers that took care of my items. Once I saw the unprofessional way they were moving my items, he got what he was asking for! I told the supervisor that I knew one of the movers and they stole from me in the past, so when I asked to have that person moved out my house because I was unable to watch him, he did make that change. I didn't make a big deal about the mover being onsite because I was a teenager when he stole 20 dollars out my purse, however he couldn't be in my house. I noticed the couch leg was broken and the movers didn't tell me it was broke I happened to notice it. When the supervisor asked where the leg was, the ignorant mover that wanted to argue with me about moving my washer properly said "it's some where under there." Once again the supervisor said nothing, the problem with having young people in supervisor positions! I read the reviews prior to using them and I should have paid attention. The money that I have to spend to fix and/or replace the items that they ruined isn't worth the money I saved using them instead of the more expensive movers. I purchased the insurance and I have to file a claim with the company to get my items fixed. If the supervisor on site was more professional and he witnessed my experience it would have been nice if he reported my the broken items that he was made aware of while on site. However it doesn't surprise me that my entire experience was horrible! Pay the extra money for the more expensive moving companies and pay attention to these reviews. I will let everyone know that this company and/or the movers I had on 6/29 were the worst, more specifically the supervisor and the unprofessional mover he failed to supervisor and/or was scared to supervise. Hey the supervisor was too busy talking on the phone, if he paid more attention to his movers instead of the person who kept calling him, maybe I would have had a different experience.

When you call, Adam is very polite and assures you that they will handle everything. However, there was no pre-inspection. They showed up with a truck that couldn't fit everything out of a two-bedroom apartment. They even ran out of packing tape and used my decorating tape instead. They left an entire room full of stuff behind. They don't know how to pack a truck properly, so I had to hire another mover. When I called them, they promised they could return in a week to pick up the remaining belongings. I had to be out in two days, and they said they would give me a partial refund, but that was a lie. They didn't mark the boxes, broke and chipped furniture, and just dumped things into boxes. SCAM
