Junk King was great! I messaged them through Yelp about some furniture I needed hauled to the dump and they got back to me right away. They gave me a quote that was a bit higher than another company, but they were able to match it and come out the next day. When I needed to change my pickup time the night before, from morning to afternoon, they got back to me first thing in the morning saying it was no problem. All this was easily done over text. *If you've also experienced this issue with Junk King and they failed to reach a resolution I highly suggest filing a complaint with the BBB and dispute the charge with your bank for services not rendered. I've contacted the call center, left messages to receive a call back, sent an email with attachments and still the owner does not reach out. I'm 39 weeks pregnant and hired Junk King to remove trash from my backyard that I could not do myself. I explicitly pointed out what to trash and set aside things I wanted to keep under my covered patio. Yet, the employees at Junk King did not comply and tried to trash items I had on my back patio such as 2 full trash bins of sorted cans and bottles, a potted plumeria, new hand tools and even wanted to ask to take our patio furniture. Instead of placing these mistaken items back on my patio they dumped it out on my driveway - hand tools and other valuables still missing due to "miscommunication" manager Robert Chipp stated. Robert Chipp is a manager here and handled our situation very poorly - customer service is not a priority here, he hung up on our phone call and continued to communicate via text instead, did not attempt to fix the situation and did not ensure we were put in contact with the owner. Pretty outrageous when the trash explicitly pointed out to take remains in my back yard. To top it off they said they'd charge $350 but the bank statement shows $385. I chose Junk King because I thought they would be a reputable company to trust, this has been the most awful experience. read more

Junk King is awesome! Today, Roland and Thomas came out to clear a bunch of old stuff out of the yard and it couldn't have been any better. They took apart an old playhouse and made quick work of breaking it down and clearing the old stuff out. Both of the guys were so nice and so helpful and the price was reasonable for the work that they did. The guys were on time, professional, and took a heavy piece of furniture away. They did exactly what I needed them to do. 5 star performance, and service with a smile. I wont deny that. It was just a bit on the pricey side, in my opinion. Let me put it this way - they arent sending guys out to pick up your junk for less than 170 bucks. I got a "discount", because I booked the appointment online. Yes I had the chance to refuse, but it was moving weekend, and I was in no position to back out. In a different time and place, I would've thought twice about paying 170.oo to haul away a piece of furniture. They charge by the truckload, basically. Whether you throw a soda can or a sofa in that truckload, you're paying the same. So I had them toss a few more things in, I might as well get my money's worth. And again, the guys were great, and even as I moan here about the cost - I gave them a tip. We just moved into the area a month ago and had a LOT of cardboard that seemed to multiply. Of course, we have zero connections in the area which means trusting reviews is our only recourse. Most of the 1* reviews on yelp for Juan King seemed petty so we asked for an estimate and it came in very reasonable. Not the cheapest, not the most expensive, reasonable. I received a warm phone call asking if they could come early and I said yes. The two guys came, were exceptional, courteous, and just downright awesome. There was an issue with the amount of cardboard they expected and the amount that was actually here. They honored the original price which was such a decent, honorable thing to do. 5* for trust-building. 5* for your employees. 5* for integrity and honor. I called on a Sunday around 10:30 AM. They offered three 2-hour slots to choose from, I chose a 2PM-4PM slot and they confirmed the appointment. Someone called me back 30 minutes later and said he wanted to come immediately. I told him I wasn't available and would prefer to keep my appointment, and he said "Okay, let me talk to my boss and call you back." Someone different called back about 2 hours later and said they couldn't come that day, and said they'd come on Monday. I informed them I'd be at work and would leave the stuff outside for them to take, and they said this would be fine and would pick it up and bill me over the phone. Monday passed and nobody came or called, junk still sitting outside my door (and my neighbor's door, I live in an apartment) when I got home. I called back again, and was told they would come first thing on Tuesday instead. The man on the phone apologized and said I'd get a "big discount" on the service. Tuesday came around and I finally received the call that they were on their way. They called back when the service was finished and asked for my credit card information and charged me the full quoted price of $178, without the promised discount. I was even asked if I wanted to leave a tip. Ultimately I paid full price and left a 15% tip because I don't see this as being the fault of any individual person, and the men who ended up collecting my stuff were probably not even informed about the events leading up to that day.
