I texted Rick at 10pm on a Tuesday night after doing an initial walk through of my mother's house and realizing two garbage cans were not going to cut it. Rick responded within 10 minutes, asked a few questions to determine by needs and then adjusted his schedule to get me a large dumpster the very next day. That is the kind of service that all small business owners should emulate! Rick called ahead of time and arrived as scheduled - even offering to help load up anything that was already staged for the dumpster. We agreed on a pickup time and once again Rick arrived on time. He helped load some last minute items into the dumpster. When he realized that the house purging task was even greater than I anticipated and therefore had not entirely finished the "purge", Rick told me I could make a pile in the garage and he would swing back by and pick it up at no charge! Rick was great. My appointment with another removal service fell through, and he was able to accommodate same-day pickup. He called me before hand, quickly removed a queen mattress and box spring, tv, and two bookshelves. Very quick, polite, and professional. A little pricey, but definitely worth it. I hired Rick for a second time for another storage unit clean-out. This one was 10x10 and full. Rick was joined by his son who is a fine young man and they cleaned it fast and quick. They even allowed me to look through some boxes as I had forgotten what was in them, and then put aside what I was taking home. Rick even loaded some items from broken down boxes into better boxes so that I could take them. They were nice enough to also load the saved items into my SUV and helped me unload at my home a short distance away. Although I thought the dumpster looked full, Rick asked for less than full price because they did not "crunch and push it all to the back" and he felt it wasn't really a full load. These guys are amazing! They showed up a few hours after I called - on a Sunday! They loaded everything quickly and then cleaned up all debris, dirt, etc. left behind!!! They even helped me out by giving me some extra gate locks they had and installed the equipment for the gates that were out of alignment. Very nice guys! I was very disappointed. I would have rather left a good review, but I don't like being BS-ed. I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews and thought these guys were going to be good and easy to deal with. Nope. First, he provided a "quote" without really knowing what we had (it turns out later he would have tripled that amount, had he bothered to find out). So we made an appointment, and confirmed it the day before, but he didn't show up. We called twice wondering where he was because we had other things we had to do, and he didn't answer. He finally answered three hours after he said he would be there and told us he wouldn't be able to make it today. He couldn't call hours ago and let us know that? THEN when I told him what all was involved (we wanted a mattress and box spring hauled off that had bedbugs... not even "infested," they were just there), that's when he informed me he would have tripled the price because he claimed the landfill wouldn't take the mattress... that he would have had to go get it exterminated and get certification of the extermination before they would take it. Well, I contacted the landfill (Waste Management), and I have it IN WRITING that "we will accept your mattress with bed bugs, no issues." And that was verified (also IN WRITING) by her supervisor. So he didn't show up to the appointment, didn't call to let us know what was going on, and then BS-ed us after that so he wouldn't have to deal with us. I think I'm most disappointed that he didn't call, say, an hour after our appointment to let us know what was going on... we wasted half our day waiting for him. And the lie at the end topped it off. read more
